I'm setting up a warehouse near Dayton, OH which will require a high level of network availability as there will be no local IT staff. To that end I've decided that a router that supports load balancing of 2 WAN connections, HA, and a T1 interface would be ideal. To clarify the load balancing requirement, the location will have redundant internet access plus a point to point T1 to the main office to facilitate low latency connectivity between a warehouse management system and ERP back-end. Total user count at the warehouse is 5 and 20 at the main office. Neither location has tremendous bandwidth requirements.
I have little practical experience in this area, but I have come up with 2 solutions thus far.
(2) Juniper SRX210
Vyatta Core 6.2 w/ Sangoma T1 interface adapters
The Juniper solution is likely a safer route given access to vendor support, however, this option becomes rather spendy as I'd like to use the same configuration at the main office which will require 4 units. The Vyatta option, although probably less proven and a bit more risky, could run on a pair of Sun x4100 systems at each location which I can purchase for around $200 each plus the cost of the Sangoma cards.

We bought an RV042 at the end of June. It is used as a gateway and VPN router. DHCP server is disabled and all IPs are configured manually.Every once in a while (Tuesday night, then Friday night - yesterday, it has hapened once or twice before that) the router appears to restart (see log below) then comes back up with system time of Jan 01 2010. At this point the router will no longer load its configuration page (https://10.29.238.197:16443/) and VPN connection to our customer in Africa drops. However, devices behind the router can be reached and can access the internet. The only way to fix this is to power cycle the router at which point everything starts working flawlessly again. The PID VID is RV042 V03 running firmware v4.0.3.03-tm (May 12 2011 21:27:37). Our RV042 is a newer one with Cisco SMB Router branding not the older Linksys branding.
From the log when the router reboots:
Aug 12 22:38:42 2011VPN Log(g2gips0) #141: retransmitting in response to duplicate packet; already STATE_QUICK_I2Jan 1 01:00:05 2010System Logheart : System is upJan 1 01:00:13 2010System LogWAN connection is up : 10.29.238.197/255.255.255.192 gw 10.29.238.225 on eth1Jan 1 01:00:15 2010VPN Log(g2gips0) #1: [Tunnel Negotiation Info] >>> Initiator Send Main Mode 1st packet
I looked at the log more and all the usual messages assosciated with VPN being established are there - the last thing in the log before the router coming back up again is:
Jan 1 01:03:49 2010VPN Log(g2gips0) #4: [Tunnel Negotiation Info] Quick Mode Phase 2 SA Established, IPSec Tunnel ConnectedJan 1 01:03:49 2010VPN Log(g2gips0) #4: [Tunnel Negotiation Info] Quick Mode Phase 2 SA Established, IPSec Tunnel ConnectedJan 1 01:03:49 2010VPN Log(g2gips0) #4: sent QI2, IPsec SA established {ESP=>0x575a01c0 <0x6534ae4e
So it even claims the tunnel should be up but I can never reach anything on the far side.

We want to achieve a load balancing scenario using Virtual IP on DMZ interface on a Cisco ASA 5520.
The IPs we are going to use on DMZ are 10.15.1.2 and 10.15.1.3
These IPs are going to be NATted to all inside IPs.
Lets say our outside IP is X.X.X.X
This IP points to 10.15.1.2 and 10.15.1.3 with .2 being the primary and .3 being the secondary. When I hit the outside IP, it should point me to .2 and that .2 should take me to the inside IPs.

I stuck with a DIR-655 so I don't have to re-program all my custom settings.HOWEVER, I am attempting to load the settings file I saved from my A3 into my new B1 and it doesn't work. It says "The restored configuration file has been uploaded in failure". "Press the button below to continue configuring the router".

One thing I noticed about this router compared to others is the operating temp. It's very "cool" compared to others I've had, especially Linksys. I have a Linksys E2000 that gets very warm, almost worrisomely so.

I've been having wireless range issues lately with my dir-615: a lot of holes seemed to have popped up in my house despite nothing changed (house or router location). This is after at least 2-3 years of good coverage and no issues. Went to look at the firmware & found 2.0 installed. Found out online that (I think) firmware is now at 4.11. Tried to download and install but both finding the update and unzipping it proved challenging. Specifically for the latter, unzipping kept yielding more zipped packages, like a russian doll

I'm using DIR 600 for home use. Recently, I noticed that I have trouble connecting to some websites (Twitpic.com, 4shared.com) which I never had any problems before I used the wireless router. It doesn't exactly block the websites but rather it won't load completely (i.e., with Twitpic, I can load the site but not the images; for 4shared I really can't load the page itself).Initially, I had problems updating JDownloader after installation. I tried using our old Edimax wired router, and the JDownloader update worked flawlessly. I also tried loading Twitpic while connected via LAN, and it also worked properly.I'm assuming the problem lies with the wireless router but when I set it up for use I only tinkered with the WPA/WPA2 security for a password-secured wifi connection at home, and nothing more since I can't understand the other features.

I have a D-Link DSL 2640B on the way which I plan on using to replace my 2Wire modem. The 2640B is a combination of a modem/wireless device. Does it dynamically load balances the internet connection? Sometimes while I'm playing online games on my PC and a few others are using the internet for browsing or Youtube, I lag A LOT. Latency shoots up from 10 to 200. QoS goes to ****. And I only need 0.50-1Mbps to keep a steady online play. This was the problem with my 2Wire. So does the 2640B load balance the bandwidth?our max speed is 3.5Mbps according to the ATT Rep.

Wired works normally, and wireless is otherwise stable, except when under heavy load. E.g. if I initiate a large TimeMachine backup over wifi to my NAS, it will fail and the wifi will drop requiring a power cycle.I have tried a similar transfer over ethernet (~1.7Tb) and although the transfer speed wasn't great (~10MBs, likely due to NAS drive bottleneck), it completed without a problem.
If I try copying ~150Gb over wifi, however, it barely lasts 30 minutes without dropping out.Once the wifi drops, it still connects, but nothing works (I am unable to even connect to the web interface using the local IP). Other devices connected already via ethernet or 2.5Ghz still function normally, but the 5Ghz just fails, and if I try initiating a new connection to the 2.5Ghz it doesn't work until I power-cycle the router. As far as overheating goes, I'm not sure it is an environmental issue... I have the router standing upright in an open space so there is good airflow around it.

I buy this model is QOS, I just read a lot of DIR-655 streamengine article, it's hardware-base QOS router, can operate under heavy p2p application, it's why I am here. The wireless Client is ACER AS1810TZ laptop, the wireless card is Intel wifi link 1000, I have already disable power saving option. AS1810TZ worked fine with my old 802.11G router linksys WRT54GS and Buffalo WRH-HP-54G.The dir 655 seems fine when I just surfing web and download some files with IE, but when I check the statistics, I see a lot of wireless error and tx packet/ rx packet dropped, the percent I calculate is about 0.5%, I am wondering if it's normal phenomenal? When I download several bit torrent files With XUNLEI simultaneously, total 6 files, after 3 minutes, lot of session be created, the router slow down the download and finally crashed, wan be reset and wireless connection lost. router can recover after 1 minutes and try to continue the BT download again, but failed again. I`m new here I recently purchased the dir-615. I started configuring with cd but i couldn`t get past the step where it should verify if cables are plugged in , so I did it manually. Some pages won`t load , internet speed is slow ( Both wireless and lan speed ) . I am using a PPPOE connection , I even got my ISP to check my settings, and he said it was alright but it reduces my speed by a lot. Usually I download with 1 MB/s with the router on wi-fi I hardly get 50 kb/s and on lan max is 100 kb/s.

Hardware rev A1 Firmware 1.13NA
Router is about 2 years old.
I tried resetting the router prior to the firmware update, no different. This is happening on both PC's. I tried a direct connect to the modem, and it seemed to work fine, but this doesn't always happen.

1. Can i connect my DSL (on ethernet interface and using static DSL IP) on the same router and confgure two static routes to internet - one to multilink interface and other to ethernet interface (connected to DSL) ?
2. I have many servers using static NAT to external IPs which are routed on T1 circuits. Will it get into issues when communicating to outside? [for example my exchange server, websites etc?

Since, Internet traffic is now high, a seecond ISP will be added. Our plan is to do Internet Link Load Balancing. My understanding that AS5520 can not do balancing. What appliance do you think I can use to accomplish the link balance? Also, take in consideration that our current ASA is also our VPN server and there are two DMZ zones.

We have deploy a Cisco ISR 2921 to connect two ISP for internet access, Link 1 is fix public IP, link 2 is xDSL.And we configure dual link load-balance, the configure just like the famous DOC "[URL]" name:"dual internet links NATing with PBR and IP SLA". Inside network to internet is ok, and traffic was load-balance, Dual link can be redundancy. But there has some issue we don't realize. Most people interesting how the inside traffic load-balance outside, but ignore the traffic from outside issue.

We have 2 dsl lines coming in and the modem is in bridge mode while the router handles the pppoe information. Each line is 6mb down and .5 mb up. It's ****, yes I know, but this is pretty decent for a small town in the country. To double our bandwidth, I put it in load balance mode. When load balance, I get anywhere from 9-12 down and .8 up. Here's where it gets tricky.
When anything is uploaded, the speed drops from 9-12 down and .8 up to about .2-.7 down and .2 up. I realize that we will lose some down and up speed but I wouldn't think it would be this drastic. Is this normal? When they upload to a specific https site (file is about 50mb), it never initiates the upload. If I switch it to Link Backup, it will upload fine. I still lose the speed but at least it does something. I've read that some https sites have issues with grabbing data from multiple IP's so I figured this is the case since it's a medical site that was probably developed in house. Is this true?Does protocol binding work in Load Balance mode? I binded all http and https traffic through WAN 2 interface however, when I do a speed test or check my external IP, it is not indicating the WAN 2 IP address. Is this a common issue in rv042's or is there a firmware update that solves all these issues?

Model : TL-WDR4300
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : 3.13.23 Build 120810 Rel.44064n
ISP : Bell Canada
We have a WDR4300 router that works well about 98% of the time. We have a static IP address from our ISP configured through PPPoE in the router and are hosting our own email and web server at local IP 192.168.1.200 behind the router. Port forwarding is enabled and working beautifully.
At some times throughout the day, any computer behind the router on our local network is unable to browse to our own website by our domain name (e.g. www.xyz.com) nor by the static IP it is attached to. We also get e-mail errors with mail client configured to use the domain name or the static IP it is attached to as the outgoing mail server. When this happens, I am still able to browse any other site on the internet without problem... just not our own. Also, I have verified that while this is happening (internal computers can access the internet but not our own website):
1) I can browse to our website just fine from a computer outside of our network (e.g. a proxy or a computer controlled remotely from my home)
2) a computer from within the office that cannot reach our website using the domain name or the static IP it is attached to can still reach the website by browsing to the local IP address of the web server (192.168.1.200)
3) the problem seems to resolve itself sometime within 45 minutes of noticing it is occurring if we do nothing. We can make the problem resolve itself sooner by restarting the router.
I have the impression that this problem MIGHT start occurring when users are downloading files from our website. Of course, if this is the case, we cannot simply restart the router to fix the problem because then we are cutting off their download.

Search for 'DIR-825 timeout' only returned a half page and none were relevant.
DIR-825 2.03NA - The web interface has a ridiculously low timeout value. 60 seconds maybe?
I can't build a list of MAC addresses, e.g., before it reaches the timeout. I try to save.... and I have to log back in. And my changes are gone.
What's maddening is that it WAS working the way I wanted, with seemingly no timeout, until recently when I had to basically re-do my network.

I also get no details at all.For example - I click on Wireless where you can see 'Wireless clients that are connected' and nothing appears even though there are at least 5 devices that are currently connected.
