I am using a DIR 655 router with a DSL 526B modem/router combo. I always get a message saying "Oops! The page you requested is not available.". The page doesnt load (It sometimes does if I keep refreshing again and again). I read somewhere that it might be because I have to bridge my modem/router with my router

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to find where to select between the different encryption types (TKIP or AES), I see the info on page 87 of the product manual, but this doesn't match what I see in the Manual Wireless Network Setup screen. You can select WPA Personal (in Security Mode), but there are no further panels below it to select encryption types and enter the PSK. Compare page 30 to page 87. There are extra panels on 87 that don't appear on 30, and I can't find a way to access them while accessing the router.I've got the unit set up and running; works fine with my wireless laptop. It's just that I need to be able to switch between things in order to troubleshoot a setup with an internet radio I'm trying to get running (Grace Digital, which apparently doesn't do 802.11n, only up to g).

Recently, I noticed that I have trouble connecting to some websites (Twitpic.com, 4shared.com) which I never had any problems before I used the wireless router. It doesn't exactly block the websites but rather it won't load completely (i.e., with Twitpic, I can load the site but not the images; for 4shared I really can't load the page itself).Initially, I had problems updating JDownloader after installation. I tried using our old Edimax wired router, and the JDownloader update worked flawlessly. I also tried loading Twitpic while connected via LAN, and it also worked properly.I'm assuming the problem lies with the wireless router but when I set it up for use I only tinkered with the WPA/WPA2 security for a password-secured wifi connection at home, and nothing more since I can't understand the other features.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set up a wireless bridge as part of my network and I'm having some issues.I'm only assuming I need a wireless bridge setup based on what I've gathered in forums such as this, but perhaps I'm barking up the wrong tree.Internet Modem --hard wire-- Belkin F9K1102 Router {{{fancy wifi waves}}} TP-Link TL-WR340G Router --hard wire-- CPU..I already have a working wireless/wired router (Belkin) that I use to get online. I have a CPU that can only connect to my network via hard wire in another room. Running a hard wire from my Belkin router to the CPU is NOT an option. Therefore, I would like to use my TP-Link router (which has built in WDS wireless bridge capability) as a wireless bridge and have it connect to my Belkin router and thereby the network and the internet via wifi. I will then connect my CPU to the TP-Link router via hard wire.
I've tested both routers directly and independently connected to the modem and they both work fine. The issue I have is only in trying to get the bridge between them to work. I've followed various tutorials (TP-Link website, YouTube videos, site like this one, etc.) to no avail.I know that my Belkin router does not specifically have wireless bridge capabilities, but I'm not sure if BOTH routers having this capability is necessary for a wireless bridge to work or not.I also have multiple screen shots of the router configuration settings for both routers which can be provided if need be.
Im trying to bridge my zyxel eq660r-f1 dsl modem so that i can resolve the nat issue im having in my home network. Only problem is that everytime I bridge the modem and hook my E4200 up, I cannot connect to the internet. If i connect my laptop directly to the modem, I do get internet but not through the router itself.

She has re started her computer, unplugged everything and reset the internet modem, but has no such luck
I recently bought a Cisco E2500 for work, and after setting the router to Bridge Mode, I am unable to access the router web interface. I tried both the old IP address (192.168.1.1) and the IP address that I entered when I was configuring Bridge mode, but I couldn't get either to work. I have always tried resetting the switch to factory defaults and trying again to make sure I didn't type anything wrong, but to no avail. The wireless and everything works as it should, I just can't get back into the router to change any of my settings.

They are all in bridged mode, however when I attempt to enable the guest network on each of them, the config shows it as active, but it never shows up as visiible SSID. In previous posts, I've seen people saying that I need to do a complete hard reset of the router and re-enter all the configs again to get the guest network active. Is this true? I'd hate to think that I have to hard reset and reconfigure all three of these APs, just to get the guest network enabled.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an inspiron, with an Intel Centrioun Wireless-N 1030, that I purchased new just two months ago. I just recently starting having trouble with the wireless internet connection. I am able to connect 95% of the time, but then I cannot load one page. Occasionally, it will speed up and I have a good connection for a few minutes, but then I lose it again. It happens on battery or cord, with two different networks (one large school network and my home network). It doesn't happen if I am on a land/wired connection. The two other computers in my house, two and four years old, are having no trouble with the wireless connections. I have been using the current modem at my house since i bought the computer. Today, we reset the modem to factory settings, with no change. We also did several ping tests and had a 9% failure rate pinging th modem. I have also changed it to run at max power all the time and disabled the option to turn off when lower power, with no change. I have also attempted to update the driver through the device manager.

I tried more than once, but then it started loading only text on the left side of the page and I couldn't use it practically. This happened also with Yahoo, but I didn't see it happening with some other websites, they work totally normally.I stress I have tried clearing the whole cache and history of Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, system restore, check of sfc.exe, creation of new user account, running of an Ubuntu LIVE CD, uninstallation of all browsers and installation of the latest versions once again, changing of the MTU to 1500, turning off my router and antenna but unfortunately nothing has worked till now.What wonders me is that Facebook works normally on my laptop which uses wireless connection provided by the same router and antenna.

My problem is that when i enter my ip address into the address bar it doesn't recognize it. I can't use Utorrent or anything that requires ports to be opened..and it's a pain in the butt. when I type ipconfig on my command prompt it brings up..172.16.X.X and when i enter it into the address bar nothing is found. I'd like to port forward by accessing the modem's config page.I read on another thread that i could set my own ip address by going to: Control Panel>Network and Sharing center> Local Area Network>Properties of Ipv6 and typing my own ip address but when i do this i lose my internet connection.

I upgraded my router from version 1.2 to 1.35NA, through the Tools / Systems page on the router (uploaded the bin file). I am connected to the router via a wired connection.
During the upgrade, the message said I wouldn't be able to access the webpage until 75 secs. I watched it count down the seconds and then when it refreshed, I could not get to my routers page: 192.168.1.2
The DLink Router is connected as a pass through router to my FIOS router, so that I can use the wired ports and I use the DLink as my wireless router (fios router wireless strength was poor).
All the lights on the router are working as though everything is ok. I am still connected to the Internet, so it appears that the pass through of my wired ports is still working after the firmware upgrade, but wireless is not. Not surprising. I expect I may have to upload my settings (which I did save), but since I cannot get to the routers page, I feel a bit stuck.

Where I can bookmark a page with information on the Re-call of this router?I am pretty sure that this router is not under a re-call yet but after the endless amounts of discussions and problems folks have had with this thing it has to be recalled soon right?I don't want to loose faith in DLink products because like many I have owned them for years and years. A bad release is going to happen sooner or later but if the company does nothing about the problem it is time to move to a new brand.
At the very least when is the next firmware version going to be released? I have tried them all and none of them seem to work. I am well past the stage of troubleshooting because the problems I have like Way to many other people are not being solved by discussions and firmware changes or altering settings.
Whenever I enter 192.168.1.1 to access the login page of my router, I cant access it to configure it even after resetting it !I also tried changing TCP/IP settings to static as mentioned in the router's manual but it dint work?

Whenever I go to connect to 192.168.1.1 in my Web Browser, it just sits there trying to connect and does nothing. But eventually after some minutes I get the error: 'This web page is not available The web page at http://192.168.1.1/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): Unknown error.' Here is a screenshot:
I tried pressing the reset button on the back of my router, but it would just sit there with the green power LED and another green LED just flashing constantly (I assume this is the ethernet 1 cable LED) and this happens for more than 10 minutes.
All I want to do is just port forward my game servers again without the use of Hamachi or other programs

Using windows 7 and 8 on different machines I am unable access my routers web based set up.
I enter the usual "admin" and password in the login box. 3 goes and then get error message. or hangs on waiting.(connected to the router with Ethernet Cable). Could this be a windows based problem. I think it was ok on XP but that is gone now. Router is working fine but I just cant access it to alter any settings.
My 2 other spare routers which are not TP-link also have the same problem.

Iv got an "old" dir 655 laying around as my secondary router and found out it had an USB slot for share port.In another room of the house Iv got a media center and an Usb printer. Can I use this dir 655 as a wireless bridge from my main router, so the media center and the printer can be connected? So both low level streaming and shared printer with share port.Or do you need to be connected directly to the dir 655 to use the usb and share port?

I'm trying to use the DAP-1522 as a wireless bridge to provide connectivity to my entertainment center which consist of a PS3, Directv DVR and Internet ready TV. I tried the setup as described in the manual, but not getting to the internet. Initially I was able to connect the 1522 as a bridge, but the connection kept dropping, especially anytime I actually used the internet (downloading a VOD movie). While troubleshooting the dropping issue, I changed all the 1522 settings and now it cannot access the internet at all through. The WNDR3700 is routing my home network fine...it is setup on the 192.168.1.x address space. I understand the 1522 came setup for 192.168.0.x, is the 192.168.1.x/192.168.0.x thing jacking things up? I initially had the 1522 setup with the 192.168.1.x IP from my home network and the gateway set to my WNDR3700 (192.168.1.1)...should it be on the 192.168.0.x? I have updated the firmware to 1.31.

since it wasn't booting up, I did format flash again and thought to load image again from tftp server but now, it doesn't load image from tftp server.
