View 4 Repliesi've got a Dell laptop and a few months ago i started experiencing higher ping on some games and some spikes on the internet, at first i blamed my isp but this has continues since then and my brother has reported no spikes or ping increases in the last weeks. I experience a 120 ping on speedtest.net (on average) to servers that i used to get up to 20 ping on and i experience 200 ping on league of legends servers that i used to get 100~ ping on.My laptop is running on windows 7, using panda antivirus and spybot search and destroy (i uninstalled mcafee).
View 2 Replies View Relatedis there a possibility to get a load balancing across two rservers so: when client sends http://vip/ and it goes to rserver1 then url is sent without change when client sends http://vip/ and it goes to rserver2 then url is modified to http://vip/xyz/
Or maybe load balancing can be done across two serverfarms ?

I'm facing problem to properly set BRIDGE mode (WDS Bridging). I had a router connected to ADSL line with following setting:
IP 192.168.1.1
Security setting - WPA2/TKIP
DHCP on
The wi-fi coverage is not good in all the floor so I'm trying to extend coverage using a TL-MR3220. I did follow the instruction in this video [url]....
Iv got an "old" dir 655 laying around as my secondary router and found out it had an USB slot for share port.In another room of the house Iv got a media center and an Usb printer. Can I use this dir 655 as a wireless bridge from my main router, so the media center and the printer can be connected? So both low level streaming and shared printer with share port.Or do you need to be connected directly to the dir 655 to use the usb and share port?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI've been playing with this setup for over a month with no real success. I'm trying to use the DAP-1522 as a wireless bridge to provide connectivity to my entertainment center which consist of a PS3, Directv DVR and Internet ready TV. I tried the setup as described in the manual, but not getting to the internet. Initially I was able to connect the 1522 as a bridge, but the connection kept dropping, especially anytime I actually used the internet (downloading a VOD movie). While troubleshooting the dropping issue, I changed all the 1522 settings and now it cannot access the internet at all through. The WNDR3700 is routing my home network fine...it is setup on the 192.168.1.x address space. I understand the 1522 came setup for 192.168.0.x, is the 192.168.1.x/192.168.0.x thing jacking things up? I initially had the 1522 setup with the 192.168.1.x IP from my home network and the gateway set to my WNDR3700 (192.168.1.1)...should it be on the 192.168.0.x? I have updated the firmware to 1.31.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased a D-Link DGL-4500 to replace my aging WRT54G around a year ago, only to find it nowhere near as reliable. It's been collecting dust since.I'm wondering if there is a way to use it as a wireless bridge so I can connect it to my home network and then use it's ethernet ports to provide network access to several devices.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe RV042G manual said to use this site for support so here goes. After owning and operating the RV082 for many years, I recently upgraded to the RV042G V01. Overall the RV042G hardware appears to function pretty good. The RV042G has faster throughput, but it is slightly slower in command/ control response and boot than the RV082. I have now owned the RV042G about two days and have found a number of issues. Specifically, emailing logs doesn't work.
- Emailing logs does not work. RV042G does not appear to handle any type of connection authentication, it does not have a place for the senders user name or password. I have tried SMTP servers that require no authentication and ones that do, none of them work. RV082 worked fine with the Time Warner Cable (TWC) SMTP server, RV042G does not. Additionally, there is NO output in the logs to show a failure. So TWO bugs here. I have checked settings to ensure no blocking rules, have rebooted, and even did a factory default with no luck and absolutely no mention in the logs anywhere of failure to send.Email is my primary issue, I've also identified a number of other issues as well and included them here to avoid multiple posts. These are:
- Port 0 apparently responds to interrogation and shows CLOSED (not STEALTH per grc.com). This was NOT the case for the RV082 and is a potential security vulnerability as it cannot be redirected.
- Port 1 is CLOSED and apparently responds to interrogation. This was NOT the case for the RV082. Normally I would be good on the RV082. I could redirect any OPEN or CLOSED ports to the bit bucket (192.168.1.254 for instance). BUT, the RV042G Port Forwarding is NOT sending things to the bit bucket and instead decides to OVERRIDE the forwarding and respond to queries. So there are TWO bugs here. This is a potential security vulnerability.
- The ALL Logs tab shows nothing, but sub tabs do until AFTER you hit the clear button, then it works as expected. This happens every time you open the logs. Another poster identified this problem so this is confirmation of that issue. Also, once the dialog box for the log has closed, it will not open again until leaving the page and returning.
- Authentication failures will show up in the System Log but not in the Access Log?
- HTTPS html interface works fine in Firefox. However, turn it off and use just HTTP and there is a problem. Can't see the forms and buttons, can only see the background image. This isn't as much of a problem as I can just use HTTPS, however, with the RV082 when HTTPS was activated it would open the remote management portal regardless of whether the button was clicked or not. So really a non-issue but a bug none the less.
- RV082 could send 500 log events, RV042 can only send 100. Again, not a bug but a reduction in capability over the older RV082.One last thing, your hardware version control numbers and firmware download page are confusing for the RV042G V01. Found this when I checked if there was a newer version of the firmware than what the RV042G shipped with. "Cisco RV042G Dual Gigabit WAN VPN Router"
"Firmware Release 4.2.1.02 - RV042, RV082, RV016 firmware 4.2.1.02-tm (V3 hardware required)". The problem is that you reset the hardware version in the RV042G (V01). Just seems probable that someone will download the firmware for the RV042 V01 and try to put it on the RV042G V01. I like the RV042G overall and will wait for updates for these issues (email logs would be nice sooner rather than later as this is an advertised feature). The RV082 was a great router for a long time ONCE most of the bugs were fixed, hoping the RV042G will be the same.
I am using a DIR 655 router with a DSL 526B modem/router combo. I always get a message saying "Oops! The page you requested is not available.". The page doesnt load (It sometimes does if I keep refreshing again and again). I read somewhere that it might be because I have to bridge my modem/router with my router
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe currently use the DIR 655 in our home. I has a great range, and we've never had any problems. Our house is a very tall Victorian, so some areas don't get as strong a signal as others. I'd like to set up a few addition devices to extend the coverage of our network.
I installed a DAP 1522 as a bridge to our entertainment PC. After a while of trying to sort out how to configure it everything is working there. The 1522 is connected to the PC via cable.
I still want to extend the overall wireless range to better cover the lower floors and back porch.
From reading the manual on the 1522 I am a bit confused. I understand how it works as a bridge, connecting devices via cable. Will it also extend the range is set as an Access Point without needing the devices to connect via cable?
I have an old D-Link DIR-615 wireless N router that I am trying to re-purpose as a wireless bridge so I have network access in the back part of the house where I can't run ethernet wires.
I successfully installed installed DD-WRT on the D-Link and thought I had configured the D-Link into a wireless bridge; however, the D-Link just does not want to communicate with my primary Zoom Cable Modem / Wireless Router. Pings between the two devices return nothing. I disabled all security, they are on the same subnet (192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.6 for the D-Link), same SSID, etc.
I attached a word doc with screen shots of the settings on both devices.
I recently discovered the dd-wrt world and am attempting to make a wireless adapter for my Xbox360 using a D-Link DIR615 rev C1 router I purchased and linking it to my home wireless network router (also a D-Link DIR615 but rev B2). I successfully loaded the dd-wrt firmware onto the C1 router and have attempted (multiple times) to set it up for use with my 360 following the instructions posted here at the dd-wrt wiki posting. However, after following the instructions to the letter I have been unsuccessful. After setting it up I can get the router (connected via ethernet to my laptop) to "connect" but it lists the connection as connected to a "unidentified network" with no network access.
View 12 Replies View Relatedmy wireless router that is connected to the internet is in the basement and my computer is upstairs on the second floor of my house. Because of this the signal is very bad, to fix this problem I bought a Belkin Wireless N300 in order to create a wireless bridge but I am having trouble. My downstairs router is a D-Link DI-524 and I have googled all over the place to find a solution but the belkin router doesn't have a wireless bridging option...

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a WIN XP desktop which I successfully connected to the 1522 AP - as evidence of the GUI to program it. I have the 1522 set to Bridge Mode via the switch on the unit. The 1522 has hardware version B1 and Firmware version 2.000. I joined my wireless network successfully as evidence of the Status page showing it's successfully connected and bridged to my network. I then disabled my USB wifi NIC in hopes of using my hardwired connection to the 1522 to get on the internet.

Just purchased the WR940N to use as a wireless bridge. I expected to be able to have the router join my wireless network, and provide Ethernet connectivity to 4 devices behind it. But I'm missing something in the configuration. I can get it on the wireless network, and manage it via the wireless network. But devices plugged into the Ethernet cannot get out to the Internet. Basically, I have a 192.168.1.x network, and the router is node 192.168.1.3 on the wireless network. I've turned off the firewall and DHCP on the router. The Ethernet devices behind it get an address from my network, but the router inserts its own address in as the default gateway, and my Ethernet devices do not have a route to my 192.168.1.x network, despite having an address on it.
I already have a DIR-855 and was considering using a DAP-1522 in conjunction to bridge my 5GHz N to my living room to feed HD media to my PVR box and also feed wired-only clients like my TV and BR player. But, in my new flat I find that the walls are pretty thick and my wifi signal is dropping off pretty quick, so I was wondering if you can configure the DAP-1522 to simultaneously be a wifi bridge to feed my media clients, and an AP to feed any laptops that might be in use in the living room?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI m setup for my brother's next house. He wants to use to share with my internet access. I do have 2wire modem provider that has wireless capability in my house. So he have DAP-1522 [bridge mode] and adjust in Wireless Setting, to use SSID manual, (Bell9**) WPA. It s successful, and works well. Problem is cannot use wired to computers, blu-ray, Xbox 360 in same time. it will disconnect frequently because in bridge mode doesn't have DHCP reserved?
My bro bought other one is DIR-655. DAP-1522 keep in [bridge mode] to link to DIR-655 (Static IP), and setup DHCP Reserved. He feel relief that works very well and have no problem with any computers and devices doesn't disconnect anymore. my question is why DAP-1522 doesn't have DHCP reserved when bridge mode that connected to any providers modem?
I am running a DAP-1522 (v1.21) in Bridge mode with a DIR-615 (1.00VG). I have configured the DAP-1522 to access the WiFi network and can see it connects correctly. I have a PC connected to the DAP-1522. Most of the time I can ping the DAP-1522 from the PC but cannot ping the DIR-615. Occasionally when I reboot everything again I can ping the DIR-615 and get full internet access but this usually only lasts a minute or so then it drops. After that I can only ping the DAP-1522. The DAP-1522 always says the Status is "connected" though.
The IP addresses are as follows:
DIR-615: 192.168.0.1
DAP-1522: 192.168.0.50 (static)
PC: 192.168.0.55 (static)
I've got a DIR-655 set in bridge mode after a Cisco router. It's been working great for months, but now I'd like to add a new wireless device and want to get the settings. For the life of me, I can't remember how to access it now.The subnet is 192.168.2.XXX I've got a Mac connected through the "internet" port and a cat5 cable. I figure I should be able to go from 192.168.2.1 through 192.168.2.254 and will eventually find it. Is there something I'm missing?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI currently have frontier dsl internet and am using the isp provided modem/router combo and a DIR-655. I have the modem running in bridge mode and the 655 set to PPPoe connection, MTU at 1492. I confirmed the MTU setting on the isp modem/router before bridging it. The question i have is if the router MTU is set to 1492 does everything on the LAN side of the router run at 1492 or does it run at 1500 while the router breaks the packets up? Everything works fine but my pc's all use vista and i'm not sure where to check the mtu settings at and all my game consoles are set to mtu automatic so i can't really see what they're running at either.

My apartment already has internet provided to all of the rooms, but I'm trying to set up my router as a wireless access point. I tried disabling DHCP on the router, but then I wasn't able to get any internet access at all. Does this device not support bridge mode?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIt took a while but I've had my 1522 running well for several days. However, if I power down and then power up the 1522, it never reconnects. The bridge mode light flashes 5 times, then - nothing.
So, I have to disconnect everything, bring the 1522 back to my main PC, attach it, let it connect properly, then unattach and re-attach at it's use site.
(I'm using a static IP address and a Cisco E3000 router working perfectly with all my other stuff. Firmware v1.31)
If you are using DAP-1522 A1 and set to 5GHz 802.11 n bridge mode but disconnect randomly. Don't bother to do any troubleshooting because DAP-1522 A1 only support 802.11 draft n and incompatible with 802.11 n. If unit still under warranty then call D-Link and request unit replacement and ask for hardware reversion B1.

I'm running the 1522 as a bridge with v1.21 firmware. I have 2 devices wired to it. I have Wireless MAC cloning disabled (not checked). If I scan my network using a tool such as ipscanner (http:url.....) the devices attached to the bridge are being listed with the 1522's MAC address - not their own.
The connected devices should be showing up with their own MAC addresses. The 1522's address should only be displayed IF MAC cloning is enabled and IF the cloning mode is set to Auto - is my understanding of this feature incorrect or is my 1522 not performing as spec'd?
I currently have a DAP1522 in Bridge mode with a DIR655. I am only using the 2.4GHz G mode on my 655. In a few days I will be replacing the 655 with an 825. When I log into the 1522 I don't see any settings for Mode, Frequency or Width (while in Bridge mode). The page for wireless setup is blank except for the "Save Settings" button. When I look at the 655, it appears that the 1522 is connected (bridged) at 2.4 GHz G like I would expect. So, when I install the 825 how do I make it connect at 5GHz N or will that be automatic if my SSID on the N mode of the 825 matches SSID on the 1522?
