I want to connect with wireless devices two buildings, one in front of another. Short distance (about 20 meters) and no obstacles. I have a couple of aironet 1242 and i was wondering if it would be possible to setup this link with this equipment.
I have configured a Aironet 1310 bridge as a WGB and is connected to a Aironet 1242AG AP wirelessly!A sensor(IP device) is wired into the 1310WGB. The sensor needs MULTICAST to operate!I checked the DETAILED STATUS of the RADIO and both the 1310 and 1242 are blocking multicast! The RELIABLE MULTICAST TO WGB option is enabled on the 1242AP already!
I have a Cisco Aironet 1242G and an outdoor omni 12 dbi antenna. I hooked it all up to day (antenna is connected with a 100ft cable). My signal is very disappointing. I have it behind a garage and can only get about maybe 75 foot away and the signal gets very weak.
Is there something that needs to be configured in the aironet? I have enabled external antenna and played with the settings. Is the 12 dbi antenna just too much?
I have an aironet 1242, It must be connect to an DSL using a static Public IP, and this AP must provide dhcp services, how to configure this access point in order to be connected to Internet using Public IP and provide dhcp service.
Is it possible to make a bridge using a 1242 and a 1310? I have been able to get them to associate together and it appears it will function as a bridge. I have the 12(4) 253 JA IOS for both devices. I would like to use the g antenna on the 1242 for the bridge and the a antenna for wireless clients. The configuration on the web management appears to support bridge root and non root for both devices.
I have Eight AIR-AP1242AG-E-K9's accross our site that have 2 SSID's and 2 VLAN's that work well, I want to link one of the AIR-AP1242AG-E-K9 to another one using 5ghz patch antennas across a 50 metre gap, but I am puzzled on how to do this, as to create a root bridge and a non route bridge link I need to put the infrastucture SSID on and this must be on VLAN1 but I want the traffic from both VLANs to pass over this link. I just want to ensure the config will work as I need to go into a cherry picker to get to the non-root-bridge.
I try to change the AP mode of my LWAPP 1242 from local to bridge mode. But when the AP reboots it never associates with the controller, i have to reset it manually.I have the same issue with a LWAPP 1142.I tried to modify the AP mode configuration through the controller CLI but it's the same behaviour, AP never associates. Is there any particular parameter or configuration to perform before changing AP mode?
At intermittent times, we will have a single device start to "hide" behind a 1242 bridge. In the past, my team would reload or reboot the bridge, and everything would come back up.But the 90 seconds of lost data were causing problems.
I found the the WB was always available. So I would ping the hidden device from the WB, and it would ping.Next, I showed the ARP table, and got the MAC address of the hidden device. Then, I would start a ping from my PC, and leave it running. Constant "Destination Unreachables" from the router.Next, I showed the bridging table for F0, and sometimes the device would be there, sometimes not. I would add a forwarding bridging entry manualy, and exit conf.
Showing the briding table would show the device, with a "P"ermanent age, but still no pinging. Finally, I would remove the forwarding briding entry, and pings would start within a couple of seconds.During these periods, outbound UDP packets will continue to be forwarded from the PC.So, my managers want to convert everything to UDP, which is a potential disaster in my opinion. What kind of hardware are people using for mobile bridges? I have not had good luck with Cisco 1242's in bridge mode with mobile-client enabled. The only reason we're using the Cisco access point over standard industrial bridges is because we need to manually forward the mac addresses of the devices behind the bridge. These are being installed on robotic forklifts. They have a generic ethernet scrolling marquee installed that does not maintain any active connections and drops from the fowarding table in the bridge if not staticly configured. I'm looking for an alternative because the roaming is not nearly as smooth as it should be.
I have two Cisco Aironet 1252 that I want to configure as a point-2-point bridge. Now I want to know if this configuration supports the 802.11n protocol.
I have some problem with 802.11A radio is enabled but the detaild status is still display software status is disabled and hardware status is down. I checked the settings on Enable Radio is checked on enable. I can't get any radio accross. whereelse I can check to get this working?

Is the Aironet 1400 bridge FIPS 140-2 compliance? Based on the Release 12.3(8)JA, the Cisco IOS software release 12.3(8)JA is undergoing FIPS 140-2 Level 2 validation. Does it mean it is FIPS 140-2 compliance with this software level to run on Aironet 1400 bridges? [URL]
I have a pair of Aironet 1310's I am needing to bridge. I have used the CLI to configure the BVI1 with the ip address and verified it. I then tried to access the GUI to configure the device via Internet Explorer and it would not provide access. I read that it had to be older versions of IE but my OS will not support older versions. I then downloaded Netsace Navigator 7.01 as indicated, but still did not get access.
Then I thought maybe if I can access the GUIvia the IPSU tool but I have Googled the Cisco IPSU and cannot find a downloadable link.
I've been getting warning messages from the event log of a 1300 series bridge, which is set as an Access Point in the network, states: 'Packet to client (mac address) reached max retries, removing the client'; I'm not sure why the client is removed. Does 'reached max retries' mean that the client has tried to many times to connect to the AP/Bridge?
I want to connect two buildings. Let's call them Building A (main) and Building B.
„A“ is the main building and provides a wired LAN to an AAA server (192.168.1.2) and the WAN gateway (192.168.1.1). There I placed a 1262N with the IP 192.168.1.3 connected to the wired LAN and configured it as Root-Bridge. Let's call it AP01.
„B“ is a pretty large building and has a wired LAN from one end to the other end. So I placed two 1262N there, each at one end.
The first 1262N is configured as non-root Bridge (AP02) and connects to the Root Bridge (AP01). The IP address of AP02 is 192.168.1.4.
The second 1262N is configured as Access Point (AP03) and connects to the non-root Bridge (AP02) via the wired LAN. The IP adress of AP03 is 192.168.1.5
My Questions:
1. Do I need tell AP02 about the AAA Server in Building A or acts AP01 like a AAA Proxy for AP02 because of it Root Bridge functionality?
2. How Do I tell AP03 that it should use AP02 as a gateway to building A?
We are experiencing a high amount of retries in one direction between two 1310 bridges with external yagi antennas. What would this indicate? Here is a copy of the linktest:

how far apart an Aironet 1410 Bridge can be from the Power Injector (Dual Coax feeds). I just can't find the specification details. The device comes with a 20' and 50' F-type and I'm looking at 150' runs for both ends of the bridge pair.
Is any one can configure basic Point-toPoint wireless bridge. I need to connect two simple LAN with Cisco Aironet1310 AP. I required basic configuration with basic authentication between these two devices which is on IOS "123-8.JEA3".
I recently discovered the dd-wrt world and am attempting to make a wireless adapter for my Xbox360 using a D-Link DIR615 rev C1 router I purchased and linking it to my home wireless network router (also a D-Link DIR615 but rev B2). I successfully loaded the dd-wrt firmware onto the C1 router and have attempted (multiple times) to set it up for use with my 360 following the instructions posted here at the dd-wrt wiki posting. However, after following the instructions to the letter I have been unsuccessful. After setting it up I can get the router (connected via ethernet to my laptop) to "connect" but it lists the connection as connected to a "unidentified network" with no network access.
my wireless router that is connected to the internet is in the basement and my computer is upstairs on the second floor of my house. Because of this the signal is very bad, to fix this problem I bought a Belkin Wireless N300 in order to create a wireless bridge but I am having trouble. My downstairs router is a D-Link DI-524 and I have googled all over the place to find a solution but the belkin router doesn't have a wireless bridging option...
I like the ease and price of the 655 as well as the range and speed. I was wondering if you can use them as a bridge to connect another building or just add a second as an access point? It does not seem straightforward from the control panel.
I have a WIN XP desktop which I successfully connected to the 1522 AP - as evidence of the GUI to program it. I have the 1522 set to Bridge Mode via the switch on the unit. The 1522 has hardware version B1 and Firmware version 2.000. I joined my wireless network successfully as evidence of the Status page showing it's successfully connected and bridged to my network. I then disabled my USB wifi NIC in hopes of using my hardwired connection to the 1522 to get on the internet.

how to bridge from a Westell VersaLink 327W (b90-327w15-06) to a D-link DIR-655. I'm doing this in hopes of increasing the range of the wireless signal (and the speed as well).

Just purchased the WR940N to use as a wireless bridge. I expected to be able to have the router join my wireless network, and provide Ethernet connectivity to 4 devices behind it. But I'm missing something in the configuration. I can get it on the wireless network, and manage it via the wireless network. But devices plugged into the Ethernet cannot get out to the Internet. Basically, I have a 192.168.1.x network, and the router is node 192.168.1.3 on the wireless network. I've turned off the firewall and DHCP on the router. The Ethernet devices behind it get an address from my network, but the router inserts its own address in as the default gateway, and my Ethernet devices do not have a route to my 192.168.1.x network, despite having an address on it.
I already have a DIR-855 and was considering using a DAP-1522 in conjunction to bridge my 5GHz N to my living room to feed HD media to my PVR box and also feed wired-only clients like my TV and BR player. But, in my new flat I find that the walls are pretty thick and my wifi signal is dropping off pretty quick, so I was wondering if you can configure the DAP-1522 to simultaneously be a wifi bridge to feed my media clients, and an AP to feed any laptops that might be in use in the living room?

I'm facing problem to properly set BRIDGE mode (WDS Bridging). I had a router connected to ADSL line with following setting:
IP 192.168.1.1 Security setting - WPA2/TKIP DHCP on
The wi-fi coverage is not good in all the floor so I'm trying to extend coverage using a TL-MR3220. I did follow the instruction in this video [url]....
I m setup for my brother's next house. He wants to use to share with my internet access. I do have 2wire modem provider that has wireless capability in my house. So he have DAP-1522 [bridge mode] and adjust in Wireless Setting, to use SSID manual, (Bell9**) WPA. It s successful, and works well. Problem is cannot use wired to computers, blu-ray, Xbox 360 in same time. it will disconnect frequently because in bridge mode doesn't have DHCP reserved?
My bro bought other one is DIR-655. DAP-1522 keep in [bridge mode] to link to DIR-655 (Static IP), and setup DHCP Reserved. He feel relief that works very well and have no problem with any computers and devices doesn't disconnect anymore. my question is why DAP-1522 doesn't have DHCP reserved when bridge mode that connected to any providers modem?
