I upgraded to the new FW today 2.07 and everything seemed fine. Then suddenly i lost my internet connection. I can connect through the modem ok. Cables are ok. I am using my desktop with a wired connection. The 'world' light is not on
View 2 RepliesI have a D-Link DIR-615 Hardware Version: E3 Firmware Version: 5.10 and I am using this as an access point with the DHCP disabled (secondary router) and my primary router is located down stairs and it is also a DIR-615 Hardware Version: B2 (192.168.0.1) and this issue didn�t develop until later over time and I have made absolutely no network configuration or ISP changes at all the internet has been working fine confirmed with Time Warner Cable and for more than six months and I out the DIR-615 Hardware Version: E3 Firmware Version: 5.10 router has been bringing down the entire network/internet access and I can confirm this router is causing the network/internet to go down and windows notification will say the network only has limited access and I am also unable to access the router page (192.168.0.2) state I have to remove it and restart it D-Link can take a look into this issue I believe this might be a bug and I confirmed on the website that this is the latest version.

I restarted it and tried to login to the router but failed. I called the support and did a hard reset of the router. After that when I am not able to connect to the router from my computer for configuring it again. When I connected the Router to my computer via LAN cable sometimes the LAN port is glowing and sometimes it is not. I tried different LAN Cables too. But nothing is working and I am not able to get to the router page.

Today my router stops working. There is no internet on wifi even on lan. I thought my ISP is the problem but when I plugged in the wan cable to my laptop there's an internet. I tried to switch off the router and when I turned it on, there's an internet for about 15 seconds then after that there's no internet again. I also restore the router to its default setting but it doesn't solve the problem. This is the first time it happens to my router. I'm not using static ip address
I use a D-Link DWA-552 Xtreme Wireless-N PCI adapter on my Windows XP Home SP3 desktop computer that has been working flawlessly for months, until last night when it suddenly stopped being able to connect.I was just on the web last night doing what I normally do, and all of a sudden out of no where I lost internet connection and I couldn't get it back. I've tried resetting the router downstairs, I've tried restarting and shutting down the computer, and did three system restores (that all failed anyway), and none of these things are getting my connection back. Now also for some reason I can't even open up my network adapter's wireless network manager anymore because it closes itself not even a second after I boot it up.The modem and router downstairs look perfectly fine and all the other computers in the house, even the laptops, can all connect but mine, so something must be up with my network adapter.

how to use a computer in the time before Windows, comfortable with using command prompt. Have fixed many issue over the years with old and crappy computers, through research. Not very familiar with wireless connections. Last week laptop started freezing on Windows load, going automatically to safe mode. If I restart the computer after loading in safe mode, Windows opens fine the second time. Have tried stopping all other programs from loading at start up. If I do a system restore, everything works fine for a few days, then starts freezing on Windows load again. When Window does load I get the application error: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0150002) click ok to close. but can still log in to Windows. Also, When I plug my cell phone, via USB to computer it charges fine and can upload and download between the phone and laptop, however, if I connect a (USB) thumb drive I cannot open the folder, save to it or open from it. This is the issue I wish to fix first so I don't have to keep switching between my ancient and slow CPU and my Laptop trying to fix the above problem(s): Laptop recently stopped connecting to home WiFi (automatically or manually.) Ran troubleshooters, suggested I do a full power off the router and turn it back on. Did that still not connecting. Did a full power off of laptop and modem and router and restarted everything. Still doesn't work. Used manual Diagnostic tool and it fails the association test, suggests that I check the profile. I don't know much about wireless as I said, so I do not know what profile I need to check or where it is located.The laptop does connect sporadically to the internet at home, via WiFi, for a few minutes at a time on its own, according to the wireless network connections. During this time I see one of two messages in wireless network connections: Unidentified network or limited access. If I go into the network sharing centre it says I am connected to an unidentified public network and shows that this network is not connecting to the internet. If I use the manual diagnostic tool at this time it passes the association test but fails the ping test.
Distance from the router does not seem to make a difference.Often when it is disconnected I cannot even see my router in the list of available wireless network connections.I can connect wireless to the router from my phone and have had no problems even while the laptop is unable to connect and the old CPU I am currently on, which is a wired connection, has had no trouble either. Other things I tried:I've scanned for hardware changes in my network connections: none and tried updating my driver software: nothing to update all are enabled.
I've had a DIR-600 for years, and this past month it has been really bad. I have a 3mbps Cable connection, always worked fine and fast, but since the start of the month I've been getting, at most, 60kb/s of download speed (I have a wired connection to the router). Speed tests register everything as fine, except for the download speed, which is really unstable and shoots all over the place, going from 1MB/s to 0 in some instances. I thought it was the ISP being bad since we're having a lot of problems with this provider where I work, but got tired of it and decided to do some troubleshooting myself. When I connect directly to the modem, without the router, I get the same fast speeds I used to. I tried rebooting everything, I tried resetting the router to factory defaults, but nothing seemed to change that. DL speed is always below 60KB/s and if something is downloading at that speed, a single page takes a minute to load.

I am no guru but managed to get all this working about 6 months ago. Other than some TWC outages it has been fine.Couple days back the XP stopped seeing the net. It could still see the LAN. The voip adapter and 1522 / xbox 360 still work fine.Here is what I have tried:
Plugged XP in 1522, worked fine.
Plugged XP directly into cable modem, worked fine.
Plugged XP into port the voip is working on, did not work.
Tried other 3 ports on 655, did not work.
Since the XP machine works with the 1522 and cable modem I am assuming the XP machine is not the problem.Since the voip adapter works on the 655 ports I am assuming the ports are not the problem.
I have a Dlink Dir-615 router and a Motorola SB6120 Modem. For some reason the router suddenly says it's receiving internet access from the modem. It has worked for several months beforehand. I tried another Dlink modem and got the same results. I have my computer hooked directly to the modem hence the ability to make this post.

I haven't made any changes to my network or any configurations in about 2 weeks, during which the camera has worked fine locally as well as remotely. Now, if I unplug/plug it back in, the camera will immediately connect. However, after a period of time, it's no longer accessible, even from my local network. When I try to log-in to the camera or view it, it cannot be found or connected to. So it doesn't seem to be any of my configuration, but something that's intermittent or happens after awhile.

This has worked perfectly until this last night. No pictures are transferred and upon using the test FTP function the status page just says "Testing ...." forever. I'm still connected to their network, but I just don't have internet access. My laptop connects flawlessly and I've contacted the front desk and there's no issues on their end, so it must be something with my desktop specifically. I've gone through pretty much every solution I've come across. I've reset winsock, flushed DNS, released/renewed IP, uninstalled/ reinstalled my wireless adapter's drivers, system restored in case a Windows update burned something, tried manually setting IP/DNS settings..None of it has worked. I'm about to buy a new adapter just to rule that out as well. [code]

After i reset my d-link DSL-2640B router (would this initiate an update?) my x-box would not connect to the internet, There is no problem connecting to the router and the home network. Everything is talking to each other and everything else is connected to the internet including the TV. The router must just be blocking the x-box and only from yesterday. I checked ports that are talked about and i think i set up port triggering, but then noticed the firewall is disabled anyway.

after year and a half of using TL-WR741 ND router, it suddenly stop working during the night. I have no problems with router before this happened (I think only one or two reset in 1 year and 6 months). System led light does not flash (some sytem error) and I can't access to 192.168.1.1 router setup site. I am writing in from Cuenca, Ecuador. I have a TD-W8901G Wireless ADSL2+ Modem Router. I have accessed the interface using the default ip address:192.168.1.1.When I select Interface Setup from the menu, it only shows Internet and LAN as the only 2 options. Wireless is no longer there. It just disappeared! The LED indicator light for WLAN is also "OFF." When you try the Quick Start wizard guide, it cannot complete the setup because there is an IP address error.
I have changed the firmware 2x since, trying to remedy this, I have also tried factory resets at least 3x. Nothing has worked up to this point.

I've had the router for 3+ months, and was very happy until about a week ago. Since then, it's started doing what many others here have reported: freezing where it's impossible even to access the web interface, requiring a reboot. When this happens, router's SYS and WLAN lights both freeze (either on or off, seems to be random wherever they are at the instant). The other lights continue to flicker. Freezes occur anywhere from half an hour to several hours apart.Network includes three ethernet wired devices (1 computer, 2 Ooma VOIP adapters), 1 TB NTFS hard drive via USB (music storage), 4 wi-fi devices (1 computer, 1 network streamer, 1 printer, 1 Roku streamer).Use the router extensively to stream music from the USB-connected hard drive, but the freezes also happen when not streaming.Have already done a factory reset of the router. Currently running plain vanilla installation except for enabling security settings and the USB drive, and it's still happening.

My laptop was able to connect to this network in the place i am renting in.Then one fine day, it just stopped and gave me a Yellow triangle with Exclamation mark.Says that i have limited connectivity and unable to identify network.I have tried everything i could by the looks of it, other thangetting my hands on the router/modem thingi (it is not mine and belongs to the landlady+her son).I have even tried to connect using a usb wifi thngi(dlink) but still the same problem.I am able to connect to that same network via my iphone 4 and i am able to connect my laptop to the internet via that same iphone 4 using the iphone as a wifi hotspot(pdanet).So i use the phone to catch the wifi and broadcast to my laptop.I have a second laptop that can also connect to the wifi just fine.
I booted into Windows 7 today after not using it for a while, and I saw "some network drives were unavailable" in the corner of my screen. I disconnected the drives, and used map network drive to add a new one. It sees the server, but when I get to "Enter Network Password" every username/password combination results in "Logon failure: Unknown user name or bad password." There are only 2 user names and passwords that are used on my various computers in the house, and no combination of them worked. What's really strange is that the mac server is set for everyone to have read and write privileges.

Rebooting everything in the system didn't fix it, turning off the other machines on the network (3 + NAS) didn't fix it, and I couldn't find anything in the configuration of the DIR-655 to stop it.

certain websites couldn't be accessed on any of our devices (mixture of PC's, android and apple devices)After trying everything I could think of and even phoning our internet provider nothing would get the sites to load (Facebook, hotmail to name but two)A friend of mine also said he was having exactly the same problems whereas no one else I know had any problems!.Anyway, after much scratching of head with resetting the router to factory defaults etc the only thing left to test was a direct connection with the modem where all websites worked perfectly!So the problem is 100% the router! Even after a factory restore it still doesn't work with those websites and after talking to my friend it turns out he too has a tp-link router but a different model.
My laptop simply decided to stop connecting to my wireless network.I'm at a loss as to why and what to do. All other devices in my house are getting a perfect signal from the network but my computer either can't find it, or only has 1 green bar and says it cannot connect. I've tried a system restore, I've tried to troubleshoot on my computer and can't figure it out. The weird thing is it is picking up other wireless signals fine (like my neighbors, ect) but just not my home one. -Plugging my cord into another jack in my dorm room
-Using my roommate's ethernet cord
-Taking my cord and laptop to different areas on campus (library, other dorms, etc) that use different wired networks, and attempted connection there Worth noting is that I can still connect to wireless internet just fine (however, my dorm does not have wireless, making things very difficult for me).My ethernet adapter is a Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. It was just updated today, in hopes that maybe it was a driver issue (Prior, it was a Realtek 8168C/8111C, whatever that means). All drivers have green checks next to them and appear to be working. I am running Windows XP Service Pack 3. My laptop is a custom-built CyberPower PC. I have done a Malwarebytes Scan,SuperAntiSpyware Scan, and Avast Anti-Virus scan, and have turned up no malware or viruses.
I'm not the sole user of this computer, I woke up a few hours ago and my roommate tells me that the internet suddenly slowed down to a ridiculous speed, we haven't come close to exceeding the data usage from our provider. We use DSL broadband, not wireless. Some pages partially load, some pages do not load at all and some load completely but after a really long time. When I open a youtube vid a fraction of it loads before it stops, then when I click to skip a bit of the video the same problem happens (but sometimes the video completely loads...). I only use chrome but the speed is the same on IE and firefox as well.
Maybe a year or two ago, a computer guy installed all the antivirus things and programs necessary when we previously had problems. Not sure what it is....but an ESET Nod32 frame thing appears every time the computer starts for a few seconds so i assume (?) that this is our antivirus. Again, pretty much retarded computer-wise here haha. I find ESET nod32 in the start bar to see if maybe i can click it or run a scan or something but after I click it nothing happens at all....Not sure how relevant this is but this is the system info recommended by this website:

My problem is as follows: I was using my internet on Tuesday to play an online game (SW:TOR) and I walked away from my computer for about 30 minutes, and when I returned I had been disconnected from the game and the internet appeared to be non-functional. I've now discovered that the internet IS CONNECTED but it is INCREDIBLY slow. It takes at least ten minutes to load the google homepage and websites like speedtest.net are unusable. I obviously cannot use the internet with any efficiency, much less log into an online game.

To watch a simple 1 minute long video on youtube I will have to wait about 10 minutes before it is fully loaded. It takes about a minute to load an internet page and it is not just my computer, it is also happening on all other wireless devices and wired (3 laptops, 4 phones, ipad, ipos etc.)

So Today, a few hours ago i decided i was going to clean things up a bit on the computer, so i ran raxco perfectdisk defragger, disk cleanup, ccleaner/ccleaner registry fix a couple of times and windows defrag. So after that, the computer was running amazingly fast, but the internet was suddenly really slow, and youtube videos especially are taking a very long staggering time to load up, when usually my internet connection is average, i have unlimited downloads on my contract so it cant be that and its the temporary internet files and cache either, just cleared it all.
