D-Link DIR-655 :: Unable To Use 1000Mbps Connection

I've been beating my head up over this issue for the last couple days. I have a DLink DGE-530T Gigabit NIC in my computer,which runs through a DGS-2205 Gigabit Switch and the switch is then connected to a DIR-655 Gigabit router. The basic issue is this:
whenever I set the speed of the NIC to "Auto-Negotiate" or "1000Mbps" it will start connecting and disconnecting every few seconds. After a little while on my Windows Server 2003 computer, it will blue screen and say there was a memory parity error and to contact the vendor. On my Windows XP machine with the same NIC, it will just sit there connecting and disconnecting.

I just bought an ASUS RT-N66U gigabit router and an ASUS GX-D1051 gigabit switch. I connected the cable modem to the router, and then connected the router to my switch (and then connected a couple of PCs to the switch). Everything is working fine, except the light on the switch port that is connected to the router is orange, indicating a 100mbps connection (the connections from the switch to the PCs are both green - 1000mbps). The router and switch are both supposed to support 1000mbps.

When installing the DIR-615, router installs, but error msg that there is no internet connection. SmartConnect is plugged into the WAN and I have tried the ethernet cable to the computer in spots 1 & 2. Good connection when SmartConnect modem is connected to computer directly.615's Internet indicator will turn green for a while, usually less than a minute or two, then flashes, then may actually cause the routers status indicator to flash off, then back on. Like a reset.

I have installed a mini router type MR3020.I have set it up to WISP mode in order to get wifi signal from my main router and be able to deliver wifi to other devices The main router is working fine and I can access internet with no problem.However, the mini router, which detects the main router, is unable to supply internet connectivity. The ip addresses in teh WAN part under network is zero. Though I tried many times to renew the ip address I was not able to get a valid IP address.

When i connect to router by laptop the internet works fine, but when i connect to router by phone i have an internet access only 5 second and than i lost it, but still connected. I just bought a "DLink Xtreme N Gigabit Router DIR-655" I configured it correctly. It works well for the wireless connection but my Lan connection (wired connection) does not work. The Lan computer connects to the router but cannot access the internet. All of my machines work OK with a Netgear G router, including the Lan computer.

I'm trying to do port forwarding on my DIR-615...first of all I need to be able to ping the router from outside! I did enable the ping options to allow request from WAN...still don't work!!I removed the router and plug my laptop directly on my cable modem adapter and I'm able to ping my IP address (did put the same address the router had)...so, the IP is OK and it is possible to get in the modem from outside.I did plug back the router, and still not working...I did some trick like enable all IP with the Inbound filter...give access to few MAC address that I have to give more chances to get in and still not working!!!

I just got a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR850 USB 2.0 TV Tuner, and have been trying to hook up my laptop to the satellite reciever / PVR from Bell. have been unable to get it working. I was'nt sure if this device works with satellite recievers or no ? By the way the laptop has VISTA on it.

At one time this D-link adapter was installed on this same computer but somehow the drivers got deleted.I am trying to reinstall. The computer is running Windows XP Professional. I downloaded the driver from Dlink's web site and unzipped the files on the computer.The Ethernet Controller shows up in Device Manager with the yellow ? so I right click it and the click on Update Drivers. But when I tell it to install the drivers a window comes up saying it cannot install because it cannot find the necessary software.

I recently had a networking guy set up a VPN for me, but for it to work properly he had to change all my IP addresses to 192.168.10.xx from 192.168.0.xx. My DAP-1522 (in bridge mode) continued to work but I am unable to log on to it, I think because it's address is 192.168.0.0. I have run into some other issues which makes me think I may need to upgrade the DAP-1522 firmware and/or assign it an address beginning with 192.168.10.xx, however I can't log on to the bridge. (Nor do I know how to change or possible reassign the DAP-1522's address through my router, a DIR-615).

I installed my DIR 655 today and had no problems accessing the network with any of my computers, however, I am completely unable to connect my xbox to the network. The issue isn't with connecting the xbox to xbox live, its with even getting it to connect to the wan.

No matter what I do the xbox says it can't connect to the router, and in the router's wireless connections it shows my xbox's MAC address with an IP of 0.0.0.0.I installed my DIR 655 today and had no problems accessing the network with any of my computers, however, I am completely unable to connect my xbox to the network.

Router is a DIR-601 hardware B with firmware 2.00NA Using the router connected to a cable modem, I was unable to gain admin access via WAN.To troubleshoot the problem, I connected the router to the LAN side of my main router (DHCP server, DNS, etc.) The primary router correctly assigns a WAN IP to the 601. The 601 operates normally to access the Internet either via its WiFi or via Ethernet. The 601 is configured for a different IP address range on its LAN side so there is no IP address conflict possible with my main router.On Tools->Administration, Enable Remote Management is checked, Remote Admin port is 1080 (I've tried others), and Remote Admin Inbound Filter is set to Allow.In this case the WAN IP address of the router is 192.168.0.98. When I go to http://192.168.0.98:1080/ with a web browser from the WAN side, I get no response. From the same computer I can ping the router with "ping 192.168.0.98".I figure I have to be missing something here. It appears that this feature just is not there, but others must have this working. It seems like I've tried every possible combination of filters, port numbers, etc., but it just doesn't respond from the WAN side. (192.168.1.1 on port 80 works just fine from the LAN side.)

I initially set it up for static IP, which was a mistake for reasons I probably don't need to go into here. Having recognized my mistake, I've been trying to hard reset it so I can convince it to acquire its IP address by DHCP, but each time I reset it and return to the "First, select your camera" screen in the setup wizard, I'm faced with a single choice: the device as I first set it up for static IP. I don't seem to be able to convince it to give up that erroneous static IP address.I have read the FAQ section on hard reset. I've held down the reset button for a lot longer than 6 seconds while the cam was connected to power and ethernet, and I've watched it go through the sequence of flashing blue reset and WPS lights until it settles down, but this doesn't change the situation, evidently.

Currently running firmware version 1.32NA on DIR-655 (hardware version A4). I have made multiple attempts at updating its firmware, first to 1.33NA and later to 1.34 Beta 3, with no success: on each occasion, it accepts the local .bin file upload, then claims to be in the process of applying the upload (with I think an 80 second countdown), and eventually comes back to the login page, still showing that it's running firmware v1.32NA (verified after logon, refresh, etc -- no update was applied). I have attempted this immediately after a soft reset of the router and even after a hard (power cycle) reset, but still no success.
(Any reason to think that the update might work if performed while the router is disconnected from the Internet? or after a configuration reset?

Unsure why this happens exactly, but every time the D-Link System restarts itself (and at on other random occurrences ever few hours), my D-Link DIR-655 becomes unable to re-connect to the internet. I can only assume it maintains a connection to the modem itself as the "globe" icon on the router becomes orange. No matter how long I wait, the router will not reconnect to the internet.
I am unsure where the problem lies either within the Router or the Modem, but it seems the other routers I own do not have this same problem. The odd thing is that the modem's "internet connection" light never goes out, and the "link" light remains on. The only solution seems to be restarting both the router and the modem, restarting just one won't do.

I have a DIR-615 Ver. C1 f/w3.00. We have been having trouble with the the signal becoming weak or non-existent, so I decided to see if a firmware upgrade would solve the problem. I have attempted to upgrade to DIR615C1C2_FW301B11.bin and to DIR615C1_FW313NAB09.bin with the same result for both of them - with several attempts for each.
The message I get is: "The uploaded firmware file may not be correct. You may have uploaded a file that is not intended for this device, or the uploaded file may be corrupted.
If the uploaded file is correct, it is possible that the device may be too busy to properly receive it right now. In this case, please try the upload again. It is also possible that you are logged in as a 'user' instead of an 'admin' - only administrators can upload new firmware.
The Gateway will not be reprogrammed."
I have disconnected all other devices to reduce traffic, I have attempted the upload multiple times for 3.01 and 3.13NA, I am logged in as the admin, and I believe the files are proper for this hardware version.
Is there something I am missing that prevents me from performing a firmware upgrade?

More that a year ago, with guidance from D-Link Customer Service, I performed setup on a system consisting of a DSL-2640B (with wireless disabled) and a DAP-1522 as an access point. I included the 1522 so as to have an N network, since the 2640 is G. The system works fine and I'm able to stream via the 1522 to an N 300 USB Adapter. Internet access is fine, and I'm able to access the 2640 with no problem.I want to add another 300 in a different location. To do that, I'll need to access the 1522 from my Windows 7 computer, since I've lost the passphrase that I'll need for the 300.Everything that I've read tells me to connect the 1522 directly to my computer via cable and to temporarily change the network adapter settinge to:
IP = 192.168.0.x various sources list values of 2 and 99 for x
Subnet mask = 255.255.255.0
Gateway = 192.168.0.50
Then to use a browser window to go to 192.168.0.50 Regardless of the settings that I use, the browser (IE9) always indicates that it can't connect with that address. accessing the 1522, or on any alternative way to obtain the passphrase.

Unable to use AirPlay on a D-Link network. Disable WMM in the Advanced->Advanced Wireless tab.I struggled for weeks with this. AirPlay worked fine on an all Apple network but when I switched to the DIR-655 as the router/ap AirPlay became invisible. I could see the Airport Express in the list of connected devices with an IP address but the AirPort utility and AirPlay enabled apps were unable to see it. Disabling WMM fixed it immediately and I am now back to streaming music.

I've had a DIR-615 rev b for a while and have had it set up with PPPoE sign on. The DSL modem I am using is a Motorola 2210 setup in bridge mode. All was working well. I recently switched over to dry loop AT&T dsl from AT&T dsl over a voice line.After the switch, I am unable to sign on via PPPoE using the dir-615. If I bypass the router, I am able to gain internet access via modem PPPoE sign on. I've also switched modems (Actiontec DT701D) with the same results. What has changed that would prevent the router from PPPoE sign on? I've verified that all settings on the router were the same before and after the dry loop change (including password).

Since successfully restoring my laptop to factory settings I have been unable to connect using my Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection.Initially it worked, but after a while it stopped. I have completed several system restores, and the wireless connection works for a few days. On the last occasion (after installing windows updates) I received the dreaded blue screen and have been unable to connect.I am not sure if it is related to installing new windows updates as prior to restoring to factory settings I had no issues with my wireless connection.I am able to connect using the ethernet cable and I am currently able to connect using Pluscom wireless usb adapter. I have 2 ethernet cards (1 on board & another PCI ), 1 switch & 1 static ip to connet my broadband connection. I connected the broadband cable to onboard ethernet & configured the ip,subnet mask, gateway, DNS1 & DNS2. Internet connection was established. I also established an another cable between PCI ethernet card and switch. I configured the 2nd card to ip 192.168.1.1 . But when I tried to share a connection, my internet stopped to work.
