D-Link DIR-655 :: Unable To Use AirPlay On Network
Feb 25, 2012
Unable to use AirPlay on a D-Link network. Disable WMM in the Advanced->Advanced Wireless tab.I struggled for weeks with this. AirPlay worked fine on an all Apple network but when I switched to the DIR-655 as the router/ap AirPlay became invisible. I could see the Airport Express in the list of connected devices with an IP address but the AirPort utility and AirPlay enabled apps were unable to see it. Disabling WMM fixed it immediately and I am now back to streaming music.
I have a DIR-665 and I'm trying to install a B&W zeppelin air speaker, the speaker detects the wireless network but I cant see the airplay logo in the PC, mac, ipad or iPhone. Try with another router and ir works. try with a wired cable but still the same problem. IS there any issue with this routers and airplay, ATV or similar items? [code]
My problem is this: Randomly, the DIR-825 will prohibit streaming to my AirPort Express via AirTunes. It'll also disappear from Bonjour Browser and AirPort Utility. I can connect directly to it, if I enter the IP into the AirPort utility directly. The only way to get it to come back is to either reboot the DIR-825, reboot the AE, or unplug the ethernet to the AE.
I've got 3 WLC 4402 controllers and the wireless is working perfectly except for 1 issue. We are trying to connect an apple tv, so we can stream picture, videos etc from ipads and Macbooks to a large display for media teaching. The setup works at home, but not at work. The apple TV is on the same network as the wireless apple devices, (we use a 10.6.4.x-10.6.5.254 range), both are dhcping the addresses (have tried fixing but that made no difference). I've enabled multicasting and igmp snooping and set the multicast address as 184.108.40.206 and it still doesn't work.
I've got an apple Airport Express and have managed to set it into my network. Airplay works on both Itunes and my phone. However after 10-15minutes the Airplay drops out and the network map shows that the airport express is 'offline'. however the airport express LED remains showing it still have connection to the network. The only way to get it back is to reset the AE. The apple forum has lots of people stating the same problem with WAG120n routers.
-Router Firmware V 1.00.16 -Airport Express firmware version 7.6.1 -windows Vista
I recently had a networking guy set up a VPN for me, but for it to work properly he had to change all my IP addresses to 192.168.10.xx from 192.168.0.xx. My DAP-1522 (in bridge mode) continued to work but I am unable to log on to it, I think because it's address is 192.168.0.0. I have run into some other issues which makes me think I may need to upgrade the DAP-1522 firmware and/or assign it an address beginning with 192.168.10.xx, however I can't log on to the bridge. (Nor do I know how to change or possible reassign the DAP-1522's address through my router, a DIR-615).
I am having linking a computer to our SBS server. The computer in question is set in a warehouse on our site. We have a leased internet connection which is used on a number of different offices. The sbs-server has an IP address of 192.168.50.254 with a gateway Ip address of 192.168.50.1. The firewall on this network has an external IP of 10.50.0.37 with a gateway of 10.50.0.254 and this links to the leased line equipment. The external IP address for this network is 220.127.116.11. The PC in the warehouse has an IP address of 192.168.0.2 attached via a router to the leased line. The routers Ip address is 192.168.0.1, the external IP address is 10.50.0.55 and a gateway of 10.50.0.254. This links to the leased line and seems to have an external Ip address of 18.104.22.168. My issue is that I want the PC in the warehouse to be able to connect in some way to the SBS-Server. I cannot seem to access it via the external IP or the gateway (10.50.0.37).
I recently purchased a DIR-815 D-Link router. I've set up my network successfully; my laptop and smart phone are easily able to connect. However my desktop is having issues. My network card detects the wireless network I have set up, however the password is always rejected. I am typing in the correct password. I can get the internet to work on my desktop if I connect the router directly by wire, but I need the wireless to work. My desktop runs Windows 7.
I will try to explain my problem as clear as possible but my knowledge about networks and routers is very limited.
I have a DIR-615 version:C1 firmware:3.13NA My ISP is ATT DSL Modem is Siemens SpeedStream 4100, it does not have a router built in Internet line is connected from wall to modem, to router, to PC.
after I upgraded the firmware I had no internet coming out of the router, I bypassed the router and connected straight to the PC and I got internet. I unplugged the power on both modem and router waited a whole night (I was too tired) and in the morning internet was back to PC and I had WIFI again BUT. When I put a password on the WIFI network all my stuff finds the signal but cannot connect, if I open the signal meaning if I have no password and the WIFI is open I can connect all of my electronics without any problems.
I already tried using WEP and WPA but still unable to connect anything, I been leaving my signal open when I'm at home for the last week and I don't like it.
Before the update everything worked fine.
I don't know if this matters but I have a PS3, Wii, Roku box, Laptop and a couple cell phones connected to it. And there are like 6 or 7 network signals close to my house.
I recently bought 3 DCS-920 to monitor my home while at the office. However I can't seem to get the damned things to stream video using the dyndns service. I linked my router to the dyndns account and host service. I portforward the ports my cameras are assigned. Up to this point its all good, I can access the cameras and their settings pages while outside. However both the Java and ActiveX options for video streaming do not work. Even within the network, using their raw IPs to view the cameras the videos stream works. But putting in the hostname and port they are assigned brings up the camera page, but no video.I can only assume the ports the video and audio run on are seperate, as when I put one camera's IP in the DMZ host on my router, it works with the DNS. Unforunately I can only do that with 1, and I'd rather not do that at all.
Just got this & set it up today. Wanted to buy a couple more in the next few days; but wanted to test out the D-Viewcam service. The application (D-Viewcam) is not able to find my camera.I have 'ticked' the uPNP & the forward; tried to disable it as well. No luck.
Camera 942l is on ver 1.1 D-Viewcam = v 3.2 Both reside on the same LAN
I'm able to view the camera on the browser. And on my phone.
I reset my Dlink 615 wireless router. I held down the power and reset for 30 seconds and rebooting the system with the disc. I did change the router name, but believe everything else stayed the same. My desk top is working fine being "hardwired" but nothing wireless will connect.
I did see this time it installed Network Magic which I have since uninstalled and again rebooted the computer system and still cannot get the wireless to work. It shows the network available, but my password for some reason does not take.
I'm Using D-Link DIR 600 wireless router with my desktop CPU (Windows XP Professional SP1) using wired connection and Dell laptop (Windows 7 Ultimate) connected wirelessly. My problem is that I am able to access internet on bothsystems but they cannot see each other in network places. I am unable to sharefiles between the them. I have tried all the procedures mentioned in many forumsbut still not able to find a solution
I have an EA2700 running latest firmware 22.214.171.124827. It is using Cisco Connect Cloud. I am unable to access the DHCP Reservations link under Connectivity/ Local Network. When I click on it, nothing happens. I've tried multiple browsers including IE 10 (Windows 8 RTM), Firefox 15, and Chrome 21. I also tried on a Windows 7 machine with IE 9 and the link doesn't work on that either except that it shows a box that says Invalid Character when I click on the DHCP Reservations link. I see no invalid characters on the screen. Any workaround other than downgrading the firmware or assigning static IPs on individual PCs?Also, on an unrelated note, where is the Dynanic DNS configuration on the Cisco Connect Cloud?
I just installed a WLC 5508, running 7.4 code. I can not seem to get the Airplay to work with apple TVs. The iPads and Airplay are on the same wireless network. What can I do to get it to work? Is there any documentation on how to get Airplay to work?
Struggling to enable Airplay using a WAG160N. Any settings I need on the router? Looking on forums, came across suggestion to disable WMM support. This seemed to work and i had Airplay but now I've lost it again.
Why does my belkin f7d4401 playmax router: allow iTunes and iPad/iPhone to see my Airplay B&W zeppelin Air when connected wireless but will not allow iTunes or my iPad/iPhone to see my Airplay Marantz NR1603 when connected via cat 5 cable. (I know the connection is fine on the NR1603, as it streams from internet radio with no problem at all)It seems to be just airplay that is not operational through the router.
Apple AirPlay won't work on AppleTV (from neither computer nor iPhone) with my new Cisco small busines router WRVS4400N. It was working just fine on old consumer level linksys router. I have spent 3 hours with Apple support to no avail. Apple TV works fine on internet functions (netflix, YouTube, etc.) and I can play music and videos from the cloud, but iPhone and computer can't connect to AppleTV even though the icons appear in iPhone and Computer... just can't establish a connection.
I know Airplay isn't meant to be done across vlans, but surely it should work with things on the same vlan. The 541N's are clustered and have WDS enabled. The wireless VAP's are on the same VLAN, and intervlan routing works. Airplay works if the iDevice and the Apple TV are connected to the same access point, but not across the network.
I just purchased an Apple TV 2 and am trying to use it with Airplay at my business. We have a WLC526 controller and three 521 access points.
We have a guest VLAN on our network which spans both the wired and wireless networks. The guest VLAN is VLAN # 100 and the numbering is 172.16.1.0/24. On this network, 172.16.1.1 is an interface on our ASA which clients on the guest VLAN use as a default gateway. On the wireless side, there is an SSID configured in the controller called LPGA-Guest which is bound to VLAN # 100. Clients that connect to this VLAN get addresses in 172.16.1.0/24 and can access the Internet through the ASA without any trouble. This has all been set up and working for quite some time.
What I have done is attached both the Apple TV and an iPhone 5 to the LPGA-Guest wireless network. I verified that they both have IP addresses in the same subnet, but when I try to bring up a list of airplay devices on the iPhone, nothing shows up. From what I gather, this is because multicast traffic is not being handled properly.
The following two threads have some info that I was looking at:
This is how I have the multicast options configured in my controller. I don't see an option to enable IGMP snooping.
I have an issue when I use Airplay through my iPhone4S, my router reboots after 30 secs or so. I have a WRT54G2 v1.5 and the receiver is a Pioneer VSX-1021-K.
However, when I used Airplay through itunes from my laptop, it works just fine. In addition, when I borrowed my neighbors router's(BELKIN) it was working fine also. So this lead me to believe that it's my router that is causing the issue.
I am currently switching out our Cisco 1130 APs and Cisco Small Bussiness APs for Cisco 1142Ns (I will NOT be using a WLC),
I have setup the AP, and read about some issues with Multicast and Apple Bon. Services.
I ran the "no ip igmp snooping" command and it allowed be to access our AirPlay Devices (Apple TV, AirPort Express, Etc), however our 2 AirPrint devices (Xerox 6125N, & Canon IR3220 via AirPrint Activator) are not showing up at all when connected to the 1142 (they work everywhere else).
Everything is on the same subnet, and 1142 is connected to the same switch has the airprint devices, and one Apple TV.
Both our 3500 Series switches are connected via fiber, AP and AirPrint/AirPlay devices are in the same VLAN.
I am having a trouble with using iTunes, iPhones and iPads on our Wireless LAN. We have the 2112 WLC and 10 1142N WAPs. If I do a network scan, I can see the Apple TV and see that port 5353 is open, which is Apple's Bonjour service. However, if I try to play music/video in iTunes, or on an iPhone/iPad, I do not see the Airplay icon. If I plug into the LAN, the Airplay icon appears immediately. I have created an allow all rule in the ACL but still no dice.
I have a Cisco Wlc 4402 , denon 3312 & AP 1142 all three devices are same subnet . But Airpaly not showing in Iphone. But if i put a Airport express in on these subnet then i find airplay option. How without Airport express i can enable airplay...
We have been successfully using our Aironet 1140 AP in standalone mode with mainly Windows pcs & laptop users, and now, iPads and iPhones. All seem to connect happily through the 1140.
Recently we have a requirent to be able to use Apple's Airplay. Basically, it is not working through the 1140, it works ok via wired ethernet. Can the 1140 support Airplay? - If yes, what precisely must be enabled/configured?
We have a single Class C network without any Vlans. I understand multicast must be enabled, I can't see where to enable this. How to get this working if it is at all possible.
I have 2 X E4200 router, one is directly connected to the internet and the other is in the bridge mode connected to the first router. I have apple TV connected directly with the bridge router on one of the Ethernet port.I notice that when you start apple Airplay mirroring on the iPad2 both the routers will hangs with no reason and the only way to fix it is to reboot the routers. I have reset both the routers to factory default twice they both are running firmware 1.0.03 build 14 .
I've just confirmed that everytime I try to stream music from my MacBook Pro (iTunes) that is connected to my WiFi network using the 5GHz mode (channel width is Auto, channel: Auto (DFS)) to a couple Airport Express cubes are connected via the 2.4 GHz WiFi (channel width: Auto, channel: 10) the E4200 router reboots. When I set the MBP to use the 2.4 GHz mode I can stream music without causing the E4200 to reboot. The E4200 is running firmware 1.0.03.
I have a problem when doing Apple Airplay mirroring from my iphone5. Every time it kmocks the wifi signal off so I need to reboot the router. This is only happening on the iphone 5, and not other apple devices using mirroring. Our ipad 3 mirrors perfectly without affecting the wifi. There isn't any specific settings on the iphone 5 for airplay apart from setting it on and off.

I have a problem with my tp-link router. I dont have an internet access of the router, updated firmware... When i connect to router by laptop the internet works fine, but when i connect to router by phone i have an internet access only 5 second and than i lost it, but still connected. I don't know what is the problem here, maybe phone?
I have a problem running Airplay through the wireless on my W881. It runs okay if the computer i run it from, does nothing else, but if i try to do light browsing or anything like that it starts to fall out and lag. Its like it is not prioritizing the stream at all.
My setup is a w881 running as edge router and i got an Airport express running through a 2950 switch. Airplay runs perfect if i run it through the Airport express or my previous Edge router (Linksys WRT54g). Ofcourse it also runs perfect through the wired network. I shut down all other wireless networks but my w881, because i only want one wireless. And no i dont want to run wireless on the Airport express.
i played around with the Dot11Radio0 interface setting "packet retries 128 drop-packet" and the packet "max-retries". I thought that maybe if i set max-retries to something low, it wouldnt fall out if it has some problems with one packet, it would just continue...
