just bought the DIr655 two weeks, everthing was fine except the wireless.almost every day around 6pm the wireless signal are disappear but the internet connection was fine with Lan, and i have to reboot the rounter inorder to get the signal back. i tried update the firmware but it it newest firmware on my rounter.

I checked the properties of the network connected it remains on the same channel when it reconnects so I figure it's not a channel issue.I have reviewed this forum for hours and have made many changes to my settings, but nothing seems to keep the wireless signal from stopping.

I'm watching a video streamed from my laptop and the signal is constantly being dropped. I suspect the D-Link DES-105. I have another Ethernet switch on the system as well but it is a Gigabit unmanaged switch from D-Link and has worked well with video streams. I've removed the DES 105 from the circuit and videos play fine. Should I dump to DES-105 for another Gigabit switch? SOme say I have a bad cable somewhere but I have tested all and have not found a problem.

After re-setting up, my wireless network always disappears when all my wireless computer/phone get off the network for several seconds. When I try to get my wireless connection again, none of my devices can detect it. In addition, the light of the wireless sign on my router is constantly on (blue), but no device can detect the it. I always have to go to my wireless set up and save my setting again (no change to the current setting). What can I do to fix my wireless network, so it will be detectable at all times?
View 7 Replies View RelatedWe are on our 2nd 4410N. we monitor the AP with software that graphs the signal strength. the first 4410N would completely dissappear for about 3 to 5 seconds every few hours, that would disconnect users and annoy them greatly. a few weeks after we bought it, we sent it back to Cisco who sent us a new replacement. we have been monitoring the new one and several times an hour strength strength drops about 50DB for about a minute. monitoring is done from about 15 feet away from the AP.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been having a problem with my wifi connection.I give my neighbor $15 a month to use his connection, so I have no control over the router.I'll be surfing along or just checking mail or whatever and out of the blue my connection stops. A little yellow triangle "warning" sign covers the signal strength meter in the lower right corner. If I click on the signal meter, up pops the list of wireless connections available to me and says that I'm connected, (but I'm not). So I go to the network and sharing center and sometimes this alone will restart the signal but usually I have to run the troubleshooter and the signal will come back with no explanation of what the problem is.While in the network and sharing center, my connection to the router looks clear and connected but shows a red X over the connection between the router and Internet.

I play Diablo 3 and the lag that is created when the router restarts as well as getting booted, along with apps on my phones locking up are about to make me throw the DLink Equipment against the wall.
FYI - the Comcast modem was just upgraded to the Xfinity Voice modem becuase I puchased two Voice lines last week. The issue was happening before the new modem was insatlled, and after. According to the Comcast Modem's status page (192.168.100.1) the modem has been online for 4 days, 6 hours, and 31 minutes. So I know the modem has not been cycling.
DLink 655 Fully Upgraded Firmware Multiple Laptops have the same issue, each has a different O/S from OSX to xp, vista and win 7. As soon as any laptop tries to download files, youtube, even web pages... There is nothing wrong with my wired connection. The thing is, each laptop gets disconnected then almost instantly reconnected. It is very annoying.The only thing I have found to fix it is turning off my wireless security completely. This is unacceptable! I am a computer scientist and in the security field. Ive tried WEP with both key sizes, WPA-Personal is what I originally was using before I started changed settings.

This wireless router keeps freezing. It might stay up for 6 hours at the most, then I have to reset it or unplug for 10 seconds to get it to reset. I updated the firmware a few months ago thinking this would solve the problem. It hasn't.

I have a toshiba a215-s7437. I bought this router upgrading from the usual netgear router that everyone and there mother has(wrt54g or something?). The routers are in the same exact spot...less than 6 feet from the computer with no obstructions. No matter WHAT i do, even if i put the router on top of the laptop keyboard, over time, usually a matter of minutes, it starts dropping my link speed. My old netgear ever went below 54, EVER. Even if i was out on the porch.It will connect at 54 mbps, then go to 36, etc etc until we get to 1mbps. I have had other friends bring laptops over, same exact thing happens to them. I am viewing the link speed through windows task manager to get these readings. Though i can't see the link speed on my android phone or xbox, it seems over time they get slower also. I have tried googling the hell out of this issue to no avail. I do have the latest firmware. I have also tried searching these cisco forums and have not found any topics pertaining to this (maybe i just suck at searching). I have comcast at 15mbps and i do know that whether it is 54 or 36, it's not gonna be any faster. But just the fact that it falls the whole way to 1 is not acceptable. My fix for this at the moment is just disconnecting and reconnecting real quick, and i always start back out at 54 mbps. Sometimes I will get lucky and it will stay at that point for 20-30 min?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI setup a D-Link DIR-825, VB1, Firmware V2.00NA about a month ago. We have 3 Macs here at home - 1 brand new iMac, a G4 Powerbook, and an old G4 / 933 Tower. The G4 tower is connected via ethernet. The other two through Wi-Fi. My problem is that I can barely use the internet for even a few minutes on the G4 tower, connected via Ethernet, without losing my connection. I can be in the middle of loading a page or an image, and suddenly it will say "Waiting for xxx.com". Then if I try to go to Google.com or something I will invariably get "Looking up xxx.com". The connection usually returns on it's own, but it can take up to 3 or 5 minutes. When I get this message on the ethernet G4 tower, I will also have lost connection on the wireless Macs. For the first couple of weeks the tower was not connected and we were just using the two wireless Macs, and they were working well. It seems that as soon as I hooked up the G4 tower via ethernet, connections became very flaky and intermittent all of a sudden.All the Macs are configured for DHCP. We have a Time Warner cable modem. The G4 tower had previously been used at my office with it's own dedicated DSL modem / router, and it worked flawlessly for months at a time without dropping a connection. I've tried rebooting the modem, then the router, then turning all the Macs back on, several times. Same result. I just tried loading the new firmware but it didn't work. Said the Gateway was too crowded or something.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the Dlink DIR-655, Rev-A, HW 1.35NA Wireless Router Before you ask, I have reset the router to factory defaults, and reinstalled the latest firmware twice, most recently after trying everything else I could think of.I have Cable internet, ALWAYS using wireless, NEVER using wired except for the router installs, which worked just fine until I switched from my old D-Link router to this 655 one a few weeks ago.Now, very frequently, I will open ANY webpage, and the internet will lag, 5, sometimes 10 or 15 seconds and then suddenly it will work properly for a while... only to happen again a little while later - completely randomly it seems.I wired the router to the computer to check to see if the lagging still happened, and everything was fine.I am using a 1-year old Dell laptop, using Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 Bit, and the Network Adapter is Intel WIFI Link 5300 AGN with the most up to date driver confirmed. Under the Advanced Tab for the Laptop's Network Adapter, the settings are as follows:

Under WAN, the Primary DNS Server numbers are showing and the Secondary DNS Server numbers are showing as 0.0.0.0 McAffee Anti-Virus is up to date and shows no viruses, nor to the Dlink Logs - McAffee Firewall is turned off, Enable SPI in Dlink Settings is turned on.this problem only occurred when I switched routers recently, the old DlInk router I had never had this issue. And I am using a completely different network name with this new router to avoid any conflicts there. And this problem does NOT occur when hardwiring the laptop to the router directly, it only happens via wireless.Storage of the router is fine, it is in the same spot as the old router was, not to hot, not too cold, it didn't eat any metal for breakfast and there are no MRI machines within 10 miles.
After install the License for 25 AP more to a wlc 5508 with 100 AP base license and reboot WLC, the License base for 100 AP´s and this new one 25+, it's not anymore on the system, after reboot the WLC show 0 AP´s supported, and the only one license appear are 500 AP evaluation with Time expires.

I've got home, I've used the installation guide CD thingy, connected 3 of my laptops wirelessly, no issue there.However when I tried to connect my 4th laptop problems came along. The problem I was dealing with was that I couldn't connect to the router. I mean I could see the network name appearing in the list, but when I tried to connect the network would just dissapear from the list, not connect, and wouldn't back on the list unless I've reset the laptop. Anyhow I've ignored that computer because I thought it was two years old and it might have had a wireless network adaptor issue, although it was conneting with no problem to my former router D-Link DIR 365.Anyway, just yesterday I've purchesed a brand new netbook (Evolio U9) and it doesn't see my router, although it sees all the other connection availables (my neighbors' wirless networks), I even connected to one of them just to test if anything was wrong with the netbook.
I also have problems when trying to connect with an Iphone 4. Well, it does connect, but the connection to the iphone just goes on and off making it impossible to use. It's really strange that all the 3 Iphones in my home have no issue connecting, not even my Glaxy S3, nor any of the Smart Tvs, nor the printer.Does the router have any number of limited connections available? I took my router with me to visit family at Christmas. It wouldn't allow the wired computer through the switch, but yet I could talk to the router with my laptop. Rather than reconfigure, I bundled up my router & laptop and let well enough alone.Now that they're all back at my house, I can't reliably get the laptop to connect - Low Wireless Signal error. I've reset the modem & router repeatedly. Tried Channels 1,6, 11 and 8&9 too. n only, as that's my laptop's. On 2 occasions it has connected, rebooted and auto connected and run for 4-5 hours. Then it's gone. I've beat this mess for 3-8 hours per day, for days...!!!Laptop(Vista) connects to every other wifi I've tried. It's sitting 4 ft from the router.

I have a D-link DIR-655. Which that along side with my modem is located downstairs. The upstairs living room has a crappy signal where loading videos becomes painfully slow. Awhile ago, I just tried to relocate my router upstairs and just drill a hole for a CAT cable to slip through to the modem downstairs from my room(as my room is directly above the router)...3 useless holes later, for whatever reason it is impossible to drill through. What are my other solutions?

I'm using Windows 7 with a TP Link router and an RCA cable modem. I only have a laptop and I had it set up so I had wireless on it, and was able to get wireless on my smartphone as well. All of a sudden the wireless stopped working and now I can only connect to the internet with the router plugged in to my laptop. I just updated my wireless driver and have tried the 192.168.0.1 thing so many times and nothing seems to work. I also exchanged my router for a new one and that worked for about a week and then stopped working again. This happened once before and it didn't work for a couple days and then I woke up one morning and it worked again.

I have tried changing channels, and rebooting the router. It has not improved.

I have an issue with my TL-WDR4300 (regular, internet sharing use, no Open WRT or similar things). It was working well, until one day that my devices only receive the 2.4 GHz signal (no 5 GHz) and then I try to connect to 2.4 GHz and it asks for a password. I put my regular password and it doesn't work. Then I tried to bring it to factory default settings, I push the reset button for 8 seconds as the manual points and then same thing. What could I do?
Is possible to setup DIR-655 as a Wireless receiver passing the signal to the other devices by ethernet?
