DIR-655 All Downloads Stop After Short Time

I'm having a problem with my router a Dlink DIR-655. I know its the router because if I direct connect from my cable modem the problem does not exist. What happens is I start downloading/streaming something it will start and then just stop prematurely causing me to restart it to get it too finish. For example on youtube, I start loading a video it loads normally for 2 mins of video and then will stop. I can get it to restart if I swap video quality and then it just does same thing. Loads around 2 mins of video then stops loading.
I have tried switching browsers, and I changed my MTU size from 1500 to 1300.My motherboard is a GA-P67A-UD4-B3 if that matters. I have the latest firmware on my router.

I have an odd problem where http downloads will stop after a few seconds. I can stream video, do anything else with the internet perfectly. It's just when downloading files from websites will this happen.I use a wired connection. I have tried Firefox, Chrome, and IE10, and this problem happens in all of them. I use a WRT54GS router. I have tried downloading files in Ubuntu 12.10, Windows 7 using wireless, and WinXP, and they all can download files perfectly. Only Windows 8 seems to have this problem. Another thing is that my Windows 8 is a fresh install.I have also tried disabling Windows Firewall to no avail.

So, I just upgraded my mobo/cpu (Z77A-G45 and i5-2500k) and I'm having an issue with my connection as it seems to drop every 5 to 15 minutes constantly and have no idea what exactly is wrongThe kicker is my old mobo did the same thing and I had to do something in win7 to fix it (not sure if it was the drivers or what) but I just can't remember what exactly.

I'll be downloading off of newsgroups and be pulling 3-4 MB/sec, no problems. My downloads are charted so I can see my speed never drops at all.but my web browsing will just STOP, for ~30 seconds. I'll have multiple tabs just STOP and crap out, while my downloads run fine. This also happens when I'm not downloading, so I know it's not a bandwidth issue,i assumed it was a router issue until I replaced my router and am getting the same issue.

I seem to get worse range on the DIR-655 than I did on the DIR-615. I was able to walk out to the parking lot with 1 bar of signal on my phone with the DIR-615. I can get about half way there before I have no signal now that I've got the DIR-655. Are there some settings to disable that might be playing a role in this? I've got the router configured for wireless N only, could that have something to do with it?

My internet connect works fine for hours at a time, then suddenly will get 7 or 8 General Failures while pinging (long enough to boot me off the net) then will be back to working fine immediately afterwards.Pinging 127.0.0.1 works fine. I've checked the firewall (Norton) and it has the default settings

I am using the 26 character WEP code. Was wondering if it's possible to setup a short password or PIN number. Been troubleshooting problems with a wireless blue ray player that has required multiple resets. Entering the wep code with the remote is hard!

We have been using a SRP521W as the main Router for an office with about 25 users.
So on the cable network it's about 25 computers, 25 IP Phones, 3 printers. Wireless network hold some smartphones and tablets. Computer traffic is 100% Remote Desktop.
That said, for the last few days network connectivity sucks. I think the problem is, precisely, the SRP521W. Some mornings the WAN link is down and can only be brought up by a router reboot.
There's an IPSec tunnel to HQ.
Wireless network was moved recently to a WAP121 to offload the SRP521W. It has two networks: internal and customers with two VLANs.
CPU Usage is around 30-45% all day and spikes to 100% sometimes. RAM Usage is 40-45%. I do not know if this is "too much", "average" or "really low load".
Anyway, time for questions:
a) How can I get a table of active connections on the firewall/NAT to see if there anything "strange" on the network traffic that maybe causing issues?
b) Is there any know bug in the VLAN handling of the SRP that maybe causing the issue? (it's one of the latests changes introduced).
c) If the problem is that there's too much load for such a small router, what replacement would you recommend given the details above? (remember I do not really need wireless on the router as I have the wap121).

Just got a WAG120N modem/router , everything is set up and works fine.But I am very disappointed with its wifi range.After using an iPhone and a PSP , I found that, its range is 1,80 meters only, in empty room.Is it faulty ? I cant believe its range is too short although I know that its not "enhanced speed & range" as typed on box.I tried all combination of channels/protocols with no success and it's already flashed on latest version. I really cant connect to my wifi devices.

I bought an E4200 to replace an old buffalio Nfinity. The range on the 2.4 and 5 GHz have both been extremely short -- shorter than the old Buffalo. 1 meter from the router, I get five bars on the laptop and 3 bars on ipad. 3 meters away with direct line of sight, the laptop dips to 4 bars. Down the hallway about 4-5 meters away, the 2.4GHz is one 1 bar on laptop and ipad. the 5GHz is gone. This is two rooms away from the router in my apartment. Isn't that a bit shocking in terms of performance? A webcam that is two rooms away registers a 6% signal from the E4200.Does this sound like faulty hardware, e.g. bad antennae? I would think it is something about the build of my apartment building, but my old buffalo did MUCH better than the E4200. two Ipad bars where the E4200 has one...and in very unstable condition.

I have a Cisco WISM2 installed on Cisco cat 6509, with 39 indoor (3502i) and 14 outdoor (1310G) Access point, so the problem i am facing is that, the controller recognizes all AP and they are all configured and working well, then the signal of the outdoors (1300) its broadcast in a very short length like 60 meters, and i don't understand this is likely having a problem with a controller software version or ... being at 3m, my card does not show excellent signal strength and yet with the indoor thing are Ok.

I need to implement VSS on 6500 equipped with Sup720-10GE and WS-X6704; considering that this last 10G card doesn't support VSL, I need to realize VSS interchassis connections on Supervisor 10G interfaces, but I only have X2-10G-LR. There is a problem with establishing an internet connection between my laptop and any wireless network, and hence the internet cannot be accessed. Though, the connection can be established locally between my laptop and the wireless network for a short while before the connection is lost locally. There is certainly no problem with my current wireless router as there are internet connections between the wireless network and other devices. Prior to using the current wireless router, I used Linksys WRT54G for internet connection until recently when there was no connection between all devices and the Linksys wireless router, so I changed my wireless router to the current one. However, the problem still persists for my laptop. I can only get access to internet when my laptop is connected to the router using ethernet cable, as well as when my laptop is connected to the main cable modem using the same cable.My laptop model is Fujitsu Lifebook S Series and my laptop is running on Windows Vista Service Pack 2 and my current wireless router is Belkin N300 Wireless N Router Model F9K1002v1.What I have done so far are that I have ensured that the DNS client and DHCP client service are enabled and that I have used the method of "/release, /dnsflush and /renew" on the command prompt.Below is the /ipconfig /all description when this laptop is connected to the cable modem using ethernet cable:

Even before I did the latest firmware flash I couldn't select short GI under Advanced Wireless - it was simply greyed out even though WMM was enabled above it. Now after a factory reset and recreating all my settings I still can't select it.

ISP: RCN Type: Cable Security: None, had Microsoft Security Essentials running but uninstalled that to see if it was causing an error. Basic Windows Firewall is enabled (although have tested without)
The problem I'm having is the internet on my HP Pavilion Elite HPE-580t PC will drop for these short 10-30 second bursts. After the drop it will automatically start working again. This happens with all programs I'm running on the computer. The odd thing is that it's in a way random. Sometimes I won't get these drops for 30 minutes but then I'll get them every couple minutes.
I've been trying to pinpoint the problem but haven't come up with anything. I tried plugging the computer directly into the cable modem and still had a problem (which I assume ruled out the router as a problem). It also would seem to rule out this being strictly a wireless issue. I removed antivirus (Microsoft Security Essentials) and have tweaked with turning off the firewall completely. I've tweaked the power saving settings to make sure the adapters are not turning off. Even went as far as blanking the hard drive and re-installing the factory settings.
It's worth noting that I have no problems with other devices online. I have a laptop (uses XP) that uses both wireless and a direct connection to the router without issues. An iPad and Xbox 360 has had no drops when in use. This issue only happens with the desktop. The only difference in this device is it uses Windows 7.It doesn't appear to be the ISP (unless there is something they would do to cause issues with Windows 7) and the issue happens regardless of the router being used or not. It doesn't appear to be the wireless card since it still had issues plugged in. So I feel like it has to be either some setting on Windows 7 or some other hardware issue (Motherboard?).

One of my customer has raised a new requirement for implementation of short sequence number format support in PPP multilink header for Cisco MWR 2941 E1/T1 serial interface, whereas router is supporting long sequence number format.here is the output of "debug ppp negotiation" command:-Currently in the MWR debugging logs we can see that by default MWR is sending long sequence header format as below

I have WRT54G2 router. All settings are more-less default and the behavior is following.You start up the router. If you do not connect wireless device within 10 minutes, then you have to restart the router.You have assigned IP via wifi, and when you connect cable device to the router, the wifi PCs are disconnected.

I recently purchased a X2000 ADSL modem/router combination. For some reason the current time will not stay set to the time zone. Rebooting clears the discrepancy for a short time before it drops an hour exactly. I'm in the central time zone and the setting are correct on the basic setup.?

Is the WAG320N iPv6 compatable ? ,or could it be with a firmware update ?.Is the X2000 in the same boat in iPv6 terms as th WAG320N ?.Is there a way of retrieving "UPTIME" / "DSL connection time" information from the WAG320N and also line attenuation stats etc.Wouldn't need the above but poor isp needs keeping an eye on.

I just bought a WAP321 Wireless AP. I wonder why it cannot sync with our time server automatically. Every time I reboot it, the system time become "Fri Dec 31 1999 12:00:00 UCT". I have to do the sync manually by clicking on the "Save" button under the menu Administration > Time Setting.

AI have a Dir-825 router. The 5GHz is turned off and the wirless is on G/N. I have shawcable for my isp and my firmware is 2.06 and its a Rev B Router. I also have Qos Engine on for allowing me to have 2 xboxes on Open NAT.problem is my wireless signal for some wired reason is VERY weak. A while ago it used to work really far way outside. It was around 150ft distance at 4 bars. Now for some reason I can't even go upstairs without getting a 1 or 2 bar signal.

Ciso 1941 router frozen once a day, sometimes after 2 to 7 days. When the router frozen, no internet connection and cannot login/ping ethernet ports. I can login to console port and copy the error messages below. Reload the router and it will return back to normal operation. Re-installed IOS but still the same.

Very recently whenever I download a file which is in a package e.g. a rar file or an iso it always seems to be corrupt. For example I downloaded the windows 8 consumer preview multiple times and each time was corrupt. Now I know it isn't anything to do with my computer as I have this problem on all devices connected to my internet including my ps3, every game I download is corrupt and I cannot install it. i recently done a clean install of windows xp on this laptop after having vista on there for a couple of years and ever since doing this the download speeds have seemed so much slower im not sure weather its got to do with the OS or weather its just the internet has been slow since ive installed it. Im using wireless connection to connect to my router also.
