DWL G730AP As AP Client?
Apr 17, 2011
I hv a ADSL Router with DHCP enabled and inturn connected to IB-WRX150N as wireless and wired router setup with DHCP "disabled". I have given SSID for wireless router. All this on 192.168.1.x range of IPs. I have DWL G730AP which Iwant to setup as wireless AP connecting to WRX150N. I am unable to do it even after speding significant time. Its Site Survey is not detecting any WIRELESS network even though DWLG730Ap is right beside WRX150N.

Do the problem caused by the modems itself or it just sign of faulty Ethernet switch (using 20 port Allied Telesis ethernet switch).
Sometimes I cannot connect to internet due to "unidentified network" buy i can resolve this problem by restarting my modem + switch.

i have a question about tunneling a software EasyVPN client to a client ASA Network. It looks like this:
EasyVPN Server 192.168.202.0/24 Network extension mode to Client EasyVPN ASA 192.168.1.0/24 This works fine in both directions. But now i want to connect the client ASA network via EasyVPN software client from outside. The user are already able to connect to the ASA Server on its static outside IP obtaining an IP from a 192.168.21.0/24 pool. This works fine. But how am i able to connect to the 192.168.1.0/24 network from this client?

I have a setup involving 3 clustered AP541 running off a sg300 switch. The wireless network setup VAP has one entry for vlan 1 with station isolation disabled. Is there anything more I need to do to allow one wireless client to ping another wireless client - am I missing something - i assume this is possible.Needless to say wireless clients can ping non wireless clients and vice versa quite happily. Everything is running with factory default settings more or less.

I am currently working on a project which purpose is to establish a TCP connection between a PC and a microcontroler.I configured (in C language) the µC as the server, and the PC as the client (in C#, using the TCPClient class). While running the codes, I capture the frames on the network with Wireshark. The client's ISN is chosen randomly by the TCPClient.Connect method.Since there will be only one TCP connection at a time, the server's ISN is always 0.The server's port is 0xC0C0 (49344) and the client's port is also chosen randomly by the TCPClient.Connect method.find the screenshot of the Wireshark's capture attached. In compliance with RFC793, the three-way-handshake should conclude with an ACK segment from the client. In my exemple, the client tries to connect three times, and then drops : the client sends no ACK segment. The µC's SYN-ACK reply may be bad configured .What kind of information did I miss ? Are there special data the client is expecting ? Why don't I get back an ACK segment from the client?

We currently have a company network set up with a PC acting as a shared resource containing shared folders for everyone to access (approx 30 users)The network is comprised of a business internet connection to a 5 port router which is then connected to a 5 port switch connecting to 4 computers and another switch which is connected to another 4 computers and again to another switch - this continues for approx 30 - 35 computers. We have 2 shipping databases connected to the first switch (2 of the for first computers mentioned) and about 15 of the 30 clients need to access these. Because there is this many people on the network we are running really slow and losing access to the databases/shared files on the network. We do not have the expertise or time/money to set up a true server/client network. We are moving to a bigger building and potentially hiring 10-20 more people. We are thinking about having a small (5port router) and branching it off to 2 24 port gigabit switches and the business folder and having one switch contain the 2 databases and all the users who need to access it and the other switch containing all the other users.

We have a small office environment, about 8 wired connected PC, 2 IP printer and 2 modem/router (wireless). Most of the time, guests and other staff access our internet through Wifi. Few days back, i have notice the ON and OFF activity of our modem (satellite) causing to disrupt our communications. This activity been observed for the last couple of days. Later on, I found the culprit, some tech savy individual are messing around with our modem, accessing then rebooting the equipment. Is there any ways to hide or prevent clients to access to our modem? The satellite modem is DHCP (172.xx.xx.xx) enabled and unconfigurable. My present setup MODEM>> SWITCH>> ROUTER>> PC.

As we didn't do any change in vpn remote settings I did a test from Linux machine running VPNC client and it works well.It sounds so weird because it happens only on Windows client platform. We have CISCO ASA 5510 and PIX 515 running 8.0(4).

I have a requirement as per our security standard all VPN user ID must change the password during intial logon
I am using cisco VPN client 4.6 .0 anf 5.0.0 suspending my IPSEC VPN on head end ASA 5520 device , authenticating VPN user using ACS 5.3.0 . All the VPN user are created internally on ACS 5.3.0 , i have turned on password management on ASA configuration towards tunnel group and i have enabled MS-CHAPv2 on ACS for password change during intial logon .
I have created internal user with password change during inital logon and tired connecting to my VPN .Intially it prompt for password change , after changing the password to new password .
When i am trying to connect , i am seeing strange behaviour VPN client is not able to connect to the peer , VPN client is not responding for few minutes , What should the problem , is there problem VPN client or ACS configuration .
when i remove this password management from tunnel group , VPN users are able to connect with any issue , but the concern is none them able to change the password , we not have ADS on our network all User ID are created internal on ACS server .

I decided to switch away from my DIR-655 wireless router due to multiple issues and go with an Untangle box. Everything appears to be set up great... except when it comes to my VPN connection to work via Juniper VPN Client v. 6.5.0.15507. For some reason, the VPN connection keeps dropping every 3-5 minutes and I have to wait for it to either reconnect, or sometimes the client completely stops and I have to restart it.

My IT Department has recently installed Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 on our laptops. Through a conversation with my IT guy I found that they can literally see what we are installing/uninstalling, surfing etc on our machines. When I am at home I am connected to my own private wireless network with my work laptop and I RDP to my home computer to surf/download files etc to my home machine. My question is, can my IT department track what I am installing/surfing on my home PC that I am connected to RDP? I was thinking of putting my RDP on the outside so I can connect to my home network and surf securely without my IT department keeping tabs on my history.

We have a few users connecting to another companies Firewall using the Cisco VPN Client, we are pretty sure our PIX (sat at the edge of our network) is causing issues whereby after an unknown amount of time the VPN client will timeout and lose connectivity.I did outputted some level 7 debug to syslog and I cannot see anything that happens during the time he has lost connectivityI can see his RDP packets getting denied to the remote ends private IP address but nothing that shows a denial or a drop of anything from our pix.We are sure its this pix as we used to connect via a different route and a different pix and it never dropped
