I've got my computer set up with a 2.4 Wireless USB Network Adapter. When I play online games I get a 'Connection Interutped' everything other 30 seconds or so.Now when I installed the Verizon stuff, the over the phone person told me to uninstall the SM Bus Controller. Now everytime I start up my computer I get a 'Found New Hardware' wizard telling me I should install the SM Bus Controller.
View 17 RepliesI have a Dell Studio 1537 running on Windows Vista? my computer stopped being able to connect to the internet a few days ago and a "Dell Wireless WLAN Controller closed and stopped working" (or something along those lines) box would keep on popping up. I did some reading around on the internet and decided that maybe I needed to update the "drivers" for it so I went to the Dell website and downloaded the most recent version for my Dell Wireless 1510 WLAN mini card...that didn't seem to work any after I installed it. So I went ahead and uninstalled it (I assume I must have uninstalled something I shouldn't have) and now I'm stuck at the same problem. I can't connect to the internet!In Network Connections, it continually says that "Windows cannot find any networks". In Device Manager, under Network Adapters, it doesn't list the card there, although it lists "Broadcom Netlink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet". And from some suggestions I found on the net, I tried ipconfig/all in the comand promt and it says "media disconnected".

I recently got a Dell Latitude D600. I know, it's outdated. I'm running Windows XP SP3.
My problem is that after installing all of the drivers for the Broadcom 570x Gigabit Intergrated Controller, I can't get the wireless to pop up in the bottom right hand corner. I can only connect with an Ethernet cable directly from my router. I have tried many things, even support packages, but I can't seem to get it to work. I've also tried Fn+F2. Also, in the Device Manager I see a "Network Controller" but it has a question mark that is yellow beside it, and I can't seem to install it.
I have a new brand dell inspiron 1525 laptop and everytime i boot i get a message "Dell wireless WLAN card wireless network controller stopped working and was closed.
A problem caused the application to stop working correctly.Windows will notify you if a solution is available.I use windows vista premium and dell wireless 1390 802.11g.
I regularly get this message (but not everytime) when I start up Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit.
"Dell Wireless WLAN Card Wireless Network Controller stopped working and was closed.a problem caused the application to stop working correctly. Windows will notify you if a solution is available."
Then I get this following message:"Solution Found: Address a problem with your WLAN card.Your WLAN card has stopped working properly. This is a network adapter that allows your computer to connect to a wireless network. To find out if an updated version of your WLAN card is available, contact your device or computer manufacturer."The strange thing is even though I get this message I am still able to connect to the internet via a wireless network. So there is no problem as such it is just annoying to keep getting this message when Windows starts up.I have checked on the DELL Support website and I do have the most up-to-date driver already (Or I think I do).

I just downloaded the INTEL_825XX-GIGABIT-PLATFORM_A06_R290983.exe (5MB). I don't know if this is it. I will try on Monday. Should I update the chipset driver too? What is the driver for that. I downloaded Intel_AMT-HECI_A05_R304259.exe (10MB). Is that right for the chipset?

It too is missing the network controller, I can access web through wireless usb but not though cable or wireless. I have the disc but I can't install from it as I get message saying it is outdated. Tried Intel but the download ends prematurely and so doesnt work.

In the Device manager it has the '?' next to Ethernet Controller. I've read the other articles on this site but nothing has worked as of yet.I did another fresh install of XP (2nd time) and then started with the Chipset for Intel, still nothing.
The order for drivers installation says to install the DSS utility first, but I can't seem to find it in the Drivers & Downloads section for my Dimension 4550.
have a Dell Poweredge 2500, and it only has PCI slots, and i need to get a sata controller to add 1/2 drives to it, i am unsure what would be the best, but i am not looking to spend more than 60 or so for it, i am not worried about it being the greatest out there, as this server is going to be replaced in 6 mths, i am just outgrowing the 4-18.6 gig hot swap scsi drives, and my pockets arent deep enough to buy high capacity scsi drives, i will probably add 1, 1 or 2 Terabyte hard drive and a dvd-rw.

I've bought a new Dell N5050, first it was on Ubuntu, then I formatted my disk and now working on Windows 7. Due to that, I've lost many drivers specially for wireless and network. We plan to upgrade the 5508 to 7.3.112.0 and the 4400 is already 7.0.116.0. Will there be any issue if the anchor controller is not the same code as the foreign controller? I have industrial barcode scanners that connect to one SSID and then there is the business network on the office SSID (no vlan seperation for these devices just different SSIDs). There is not really a need to seperate the business network from the scanners in any case. However, there are needs for a guest network and this needs to be seperated. At the bare minumum I would like to have the wireless guest network. Here is what I have: 2125 Wireless LAN controller managing 18 LAPs (1 indoor and 17 outdoors)Cisco Cat 2950 switches (2 x 24 port and soon to be replaced with 2 x 48 port 2960's with 802.1x capability) Sonicwall TZ210 firewallOne existing wired and trunked vlan for PLC infrastructure. One ESXi hosting Windows server guests (soon to be 2 with vMotion) The reason for the wired guest access network is tp prevent anyone from plugging into the wall jack in the office with thier home laptops or anyone else from being on the same subnet as our domain machines. Granted they would be unathenticaed but there would be no layer 2 seperation and that is what I think would be best.
How would I go about doing this on the wireless controller without an anchor controller just using my existing hardware? I would like to have the Guest SSID only availible in the front office. Is it possible to offer a guest network while still servicing the business network SSID on the same access point? Then might I be able to have the guest network be treated as it should at the controller? However this might present another issue altogether as the guest traffic will be over the same wire as the business SSID until it hits the controller for management.

After a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate (service pack 1) I've visited the Dell Product Support section, entered in my service tag and downloaded all the recommended drivers & applications. Everything works fine on the laptop right now except for one major issue: I can't connect to the internet.The wireless switch is ON, but there's no sign of any wireless networks in the Network and Sharing center or in the system tray icon next to the clock.This is what I see in the device manager:When I double click the Network controller the device status reads:The drivers for this device are not installed. View 4 Replies View RelatedI installed a fresh Windows XP Pro on my Optiplex gx270 last week. Everything was fine but now I cannot get an internet connection. I followed all the steps on the dell support web site for the windows reinstall, putting all the drivers on in the correct order, all from my original resource CD. Then downloaded the new recommended driver for my service tag from the dell site, and still no ethernet controller driver is found (a yellow question mark with an exclamation mark on top in windows device manager). Tried a couple of times with the dell online chat, but was disconnected right away. Then spent another 1+ hour on the phone with dell tech support this morning. After uninstalling and reinstalling the same drivers I had previously installed, they apparently had no other suggestions and disconnected me. So I'm left with what was a pretty decent machine that is incapable of connecting to the internet.

I have got this new Dell inspiron 1521 with windows 8 and I am facing some weird problem with its DW WLAN NETWORK CONTROLLER.
it uses more of cpu resources (as seen from task manager) and causes the active window to become non active.
this makes it frustrating to work, means I am typing some username or anything in IE or Chrome or anywhere else and it suddenly becomes non active window (non selected as if some thing else is selected) and again becomes active in few seconds or I have to click anywhere in the window to make it active.
some times a pop up opens that "DW WLAN NETWORK CONTROLLER HAS STOPPED WORKING" send this information to microsoft.
This happens randomly and I'm not able to figure out when this thing occur, means I'm running on battery or power supply.
I have not used wifi on this laptop and I don't have wifi modem. I always use internet through ethernet cable.
One more thing whenever this problem occurs, I stop all the process related to WLAN in task manager and the problem of active-non active window and popup message disappears.
I have tried to uninstall and install the network adapter. also tried latest drivers from dell website.
Just got a D610 with no drivers cd. Rebuilt the laptop with TxDOT image and now I get a message found new hard ware pci simple communications controller. Where can I get this driver at?
