I press the fn and then the F2 button and it doesn't turn on. When I restart my laptop I know all the lights like capslock,num lock etc are supposed to flash once. but it does EXCEPT the wifi . I tried everything. there is no wireless icon by the clock. my wifi used to work but all of a sudden it hasn't worked. I've checked everything on control panels and nothing..

I am able to see my neighbours' networks and can access my own network with my phone, tablet etc. The driver is up to date according to Windows and is functioning correctly. I reinstalled the OS yesterday and the wireless was working fine last night. To the best of my knowledge, nothing has been altered.

i have a dell inspiron N5110 which has developed YET AGAIN another problem
The wireless doesnt pick up any networks and it says the wireless adaptor has been switched off.
PS i have checked wndows mobility centre and the wireless adaptor enable button is greyed out.
Just purchased refurbished Inspiron 15 Intel N5050. I know about Function-F2 and the wireless switch is on, but I can't get any wireless to work. I have tried to download drivers but they can't find the wireless card either. However, when I put the service tag in, it says I have the wireless card. The service tag is <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>.
When I go to Device Manager, other "other devices," Network Controller shows up as not having a driver installed. However, the network adapter shows up just fine.

Usually, if the wifi is turned on, there is a green light flashing in the back which tells me it is picking up or searching for a signal. And once I turned it on, it had started working again. So I played on it a bit and got off. But when I went to turn it on today, it wont pick up any signals. My router is working perfectly fine since I'm typing this on my iPad.

I have tried the F2 + Function key several times, I've rebooted and tried to search possible solutions. My other laptop is connected to my router just fine, so I am sure it is just a computer issue. I have an Inspirion 1750. Also, is there any indicator of wireless on this computer? Following a recent reinstall of windows XP, my wireless no longer works. The Intel Proset / Wireless software is controlling the wireless connection and it indicates that the wireless is turned off. It states that I should use the wireless On/Off switch to enable it. I can find no such switch to enable the wireless.
I have seen that the Fn + F2 combinaion should toggle the switch, but it does not work on my system. In the device manager, everything seems to be installed and working correctly. I have a Studio XPS 1340. Running Vista. Sat evening I was on the net, and had left the machine for a while. I refreshed a page using F5 after 10 mins inactivity, and the WIFI had dropped. I have the Dell Wireless 1515 Wireless N adaptor. I cannot find any wireless networks, and the error message I get is to "Turn on wireless capability".
On the Studio XPS 13 there is no wireless switch, to turn on/off the wireless. I've tried to turn on the wireless using Fn + F2, and I have also unchecked the "allow computer to turn off this device to save power." box. rebooted any further suggestions? I've disabled and enabled the wireless network card a couple of times, drivers seem to be working correctly. when I try to update the drivers I'm told they are the most up to date drivers available.
Might this be McAfee related? Have I inadvertently turned off the wireless using a shortcut key by accident?
My wireless internet has been working perfectly well on my XPS 17 (L701X) until last weeky. I was on the internet and then my wireless turned off suddenly. the error message says "turn wireless capability on". BUt on the wardware, the witch is on, but when I check windown mobility center, it shows "wireless off" . Ran network diagnostics, but same error massage "turn wireless capability on". For now, when it happens, I need to restart my computer and it back to nomal. This happens at least 3-4 times a day.

The physical switch on the system will not toggle wifi on or off; it is always on. I can disable it via Windows (Win 7 Pro), or simply disconnect from the network, but when I do it does not remember the wifi passwords, which may be a separate issue.
I bought this computer thinking it was wireless. It says it has Wireless-N capability. I can find no wireless in my network connections. Problems - The bluetooth light is not lit (WiFi is lit). - The bluetooth icon is not in the system tray. - There are no settings in 'Control Panel' for bluetooth. - There are no drivers in 'Device Manager' for bluetooth.
Troubleshooting Already Attempted - Ensured that bluetooth was enabled in the BIOS. - Updated BIOS to version A11. - Downloaded and attempted to install drivers (R285455.exe, R260222.exe, R296919.exe). When I try to run R260222.exe, it tells me that it is incompatible. When I run the other two drivers, it extracts the items but then asks me to "activate bluetooth using wireless switch". The switch is already on but no light appears for the bluetooth symbol. It's a catch 22! - Ensured that the 'Bluetooth Support Service' was started.
I've been trying unsuccessfully for weeks to find out how to turn on the Bluetooth adapter (turn Bluetooth radio on) on my Dell Latitude D620.

I've got a Dell N5010 with Windows 7, after dropping my laptop and breaking the hard drive I replaced it with one I bought from Amazon, all is well apart from I now have to use an external antenna for WiFi to work. Without it I just get ' No connections are available'. I also can't turn off the touchpad with the button to the right of F12 like I used to.
