Developing Voice Activation Detection
Feb 13, 2013
I would like to develop Voice Activation Detection using this sample program (google: ****/p_238-voice-activation-detection-voip) in Visual Studio 2008. But according to this website Visual Studio 2010 is highly recommended. Why VS 2010 is better than VS 2008?

I sometimes am forced to use my computer at work to set-up wireless networks for employees who move into temporary apartments. Now every time I am at my home, my computer, ipad, and iphone keep redirecting to comcast home activation page. The problem is the home activation page that comes up is for one of the apartments I set-up for my employer. It seems to be stuck on the final steps of this other persons comcast set-up and I cant get it to go away. I have a Linksys router with a secure network. It shows I am connected to my network, but when I try to get on-line it send me right back to Comcast activation page for someone elses account. Countless calls to Comcast have gotten me know where. Since the final steps of the comcast activation involve downloading desk top software, and the ipad will not let you download desktop software even into dropbox. It has made my ipad useless when I'm at home.

We have successfully activated Protectlink Web but as we have observed that when we try to restart our router, Cisco Protectlink status is active but then when you look on license information on platform the status just states there is "Waiting...."Web Protection no longer working..In order for us to resolve this. We have to restore our router to factory default and then activate Protectlink and set all the settings again..As I have said this only happens when we restart our router?

I've purchased a used ASA 5505 device. Upon reseting and looking at the startup, I see that it is unable to retrieve Activation License and used default. Activation License shows as all zeros.
Is there a way to find whatever Activation License is tied to my device from Cisco without a service contract ? or I have to live with the default ?

We have recently got 2 of our Cisco ASA 5520 firewalls through RMA. These are supposed to run in a Active/Active Failover Pair. There was only 1 RMA request that was opened for both the firewalls. We have received only 1 Activation key for this RMA request for both the firewalls. Just want to check with you if this Activation key will work on both firewalls or do we need a get a seperate one for the other box.

I went through the install procedure outlined in the ProtectLink Gateway install manual and i activated the ProtectLink Web product through Trend Micro (which shows up through their web site as a registered product to me). It still doesn't show up as installed on the SA540 (under Administration/License Management screen). When I try to activate the product again, it shows as "Already registered". Trend has no idea why it won't work. They said Cisco sold the license, so try their support.

My customer's Protectlink license is set to expire in 2 weeks. I would like to enter the activation code I just obtained, but cannot find the link. When I go to the license page in the router, there is a link to renew, but that just takes me to the website to enter the new key code, then receive an activation code. There is not howver any link to enter the activation code. I assume that once the license actually expires, the activation link will then show up, but there must be a way to get to this page ahead of time.

The problem is: when I activate the second SSID, the AP losing connection with the WLC. In the log appears"AP disassociated. ... Base Radio" and "
"not advertising ssid due to radio policy". The AP's connect with the WLC, lose after few seconds the contact.

But the two last time that we went through the install procedure outlined in the ProtectLink Gateway install manual, the both RV042 do not run the service, we do not know why... So we have decide to stop buy and sold them until we find a solution.
The firmware install are the last one.
When I try to activate the product again, it shows as "Already registered". Trend has no idea why it won't work. They said Cisco sold the license, so try their support.

I have a 5508 controller with 70 AP's ( a mix of 1131 and 1142). On the Monitor tab I can see under the Rogue Summary numerous "Rogue AP's" as well as the clients associated to these AP's. There are no Rogue AP's on my wired network according to the report. My question is this: What actions should I take regarding these "Roague AP's"? Many of them appear to be just other AP's in the residential area near by. I know I can take action to classify them as Friendly or Malicious as well as Internal or External, but what benefit is there to doing this? Will taking these actions keep my AP's from scanning off channel for Rogues? I read that if a "Rogue AP" is not on the wired network that is really is not considered a threat. Any Cisco best practices regarding how to handle detected Rogue AP's ?

Why did this happen and is there a way to bypass? This is mainly on wired connection as the Ethernet isn't god awfully slow like wireless is.

I'll cut right to the chase: I've been having some serious problems with wifi detection. There are times when the wifi is detected successfully, but most days, my laptop can't seem to detect any. The wifi light goes on and off as well. Also, there are times when the wifi suddenly just goes off and fails to detect any, even after it has already started working.Usually, I have to turn off my laptop and wait for it to cool before the wifi starts working again. I already have that power save mode option unchecked, so I don't really know what's causing the problem.

I have been having no luck with DLink support getting an answer. I have the DCS-942L which allows me to set the date/time zone but when I try to add motion detection settings the page always times out during the save. I tried using CaT-5 CABLE instead of wifi for settings (camera on same router and desktop pc) but after the "saving" message appears, it eventually times out and I have to click the Back arrow to return only to find none of my settings saved. I also want to note that each time I log in I see a broken certificate error message. Using Win8 with IE10. Also tried on Win7 with IE9 and XP Pro with IE8.

I've just successfully set up my network camera and as I was running through the advanced settings, what it wants from me when it comes to setting up images being sent to my e-mail. I've looked up some old threads to get a clue and thus far nothing works. Testing my entries results in "Invalid e-mail setting" 10 out of 10 times.
The setting format I'm trying to use is as follows:
-- smtp.gmail.com
-- 587
-- myemail@gmail.com
-- myemail@gmail.com
-- myemail
-- mypassword
-- STARTTLS
My GMail account is POP Enabled (whatever that is) and I used the username for that e-mail for bother the Sender and Receiver fields, as well as that e-mails username and password.
I'm lost. I bought the camera so I could document my landlord's maintenance people "touring" my apartment while I'm at work, but I wasn't aware having it save screenshots would be so complicated.

First of all, I've purchased a couple of Wifi cameras in the past, and they've always been missing something important (i.e. just returned a Cisco camera because it didn't support WPA2-AES).
So I was thrilled when I first received the DCS-930L - it was sleek, wireless setup was easy, and mydlink.com is slick as well.
But I'm afraid I've found the fatal flaw. I purchased this camera for one reason only - to figure out how mice are getting into my basement! I set up the camera where I suspect they're coming in, set up motion detection (via ftp), and then walked in front of the camera to test it.
To my surprise, I checked the FTP folder and found dozens of STILL images! What I really need is a video file. Is there NO way to configure the camera to capture video (not still images) when motion is detected? This seems like a huge gap. The Cisco camera I returned could do this.
If it can't do this, can it can be configured to record the last X hours to a shared drive somewhere, so I can at least go back and look at recorded video?

I have a simple question regarding dead peer detection on the ASA 5520. I am using a cellular VPN device to connect back to an ASA 5520 and I have noticed that the connection drops at random periods during the day. The vendor for the cellular device recommends disabling dead peer detection on their device, which I have done. The question is, where is this disabled on the ASA? is it the IKE Keepalive setting under the tunnel group option?

Once connected on network and get outside DHCP, can it also put that address is the peer section of site to site?

Primary optical link between CPE and PE, and backup 3G/ADSL link between CPE and PE.I am considering link failure detection on primary link (after which backup link should take over). Which method is the least CPU intesive:
1) BGP protocol between CPE and PE
2) RIP protocol between CPE and PE
3) BFD on static routes on PE
Is there difference in terms of CPU load between above mentioned methods or they are more or less the same?Hardver platforms are sup720 BXL and Cisco 7200 G2.

I have a 1Gb network set up whereby I have a Netgear 26 Port 1000Mbps unmanaged network switch at the heart of my home network. What I have the problem with is devices connected on any one of my 3 300Mbps access points drop out showing no internet but they really mean no network access unless i disconnect and reconnect or switch to another access point. Other things I get happening is one min i have a transfer speed wired connection to wired connection of 35Mb per second and then I only have 8 or less. I am wondering if I have cable issues but before I went out and spent about 100 on new belkin cat6 cable I would ask if there is software I can use to test all the devices on the network so I can replace the faulty item.

I have a 932L already and wanted to add another camera, so I purchased the 942L in the US. I live in Canada. The 932 works perfectly, emailing me without any problem. Set up was a breeze. This new camera appears to be a problem. I cannot get this turkey to email. I am very computer literate, and I have been working on this thing for ages now without success. I would like to return this thing and get another 932, but hard to do from here. I see from these forums that nobody else appears to have gotten it to work either. By the way, I upgraded it to the latest version firmware, no change. How to email images using the motion detection?

I have been testing my new DCS-942L and found that while the motion detection works great it is sometime hindered by the audio mic setting of motion detection. I have turned down the microphone settings to the lowest (10) and the only difference is miniscule. The camera will still set off the motion detection prior to anyone being in the screen, and if the person enters the screen immediately after the noise the camera will not record the movement.
I have adjusted the sensitivity down to 25% and continued having the issue. I would like to record motion with sound. So either the microphone needs to be able to be adjusted lower, or not set off the motion detector.
