We have an ASA 5505 and I want to block www.facebook.com for all users on the inside network. I followed the instructions laid out in Cisco support document ID 100513 using regular expressions with MPF but am running into some problems.

Once the configuration has been changed based on these instruction www.facebook.com is blocked. However I can't access any other websites except my Google News home page comes up just fine for some reason.

I've purchased a used ASA 5505 device. Upon reseting and looking at the startup, I see that it is unable to retrieve Activation License and used default. Activation License shows as all zeros.
Is there a way to find whatever Activation License is tied to my device from Cisco without a service contract ? or I have to live with the default ?
I currenty have 2 cisco 5510 firewalls one of the firewals is completly dead but contains a Cisco ASA SSM-10 can i remove this card and just place it into a working unit, will i have any problems doing so.

There was only 1 RMA request that was opened for both the firewalls. We have received only 1 Activation key for this RMA request for both the firewalls. Just want to check with you if this Activation key will work on both firewalls or do we need a get a seperate one for the other box.

Switch seems to work fine but "show bootvar" shows the previous IOS name instead of the new one: s72033-advipservicesk9_wan-mz.122-33.SXJ3.bin.Removed the old IOS name on "boot var", gave it new IOS name, "show bootvar" now has correct new IOS name, write mem again and reloaded switch.It booted up OK but "show bootvar" still has the old IOS: "s72033-ipbasek9-mz.122-33.SXI2a.bin".According to IOS upgrade procedure, after all the upgrade IOS steps done, then just "write mem" then the "bootvar: will have the new IOS name, but on my switch it is always has the old IOS name ? Standby not ready to show bootvar, I want to remove SXF8 and leave SXI8 alone. I removed both IOS file names in boot system and added the SXI8 again and saved. So this would be the output after.
But after a switch restart, this would be the output of show bootvar again.

on our cisco 3845 router we have recently applied a qos policy on a fast ethernet where our MPLS link is connected. We have already having a GRE tunnel over the fast Ethernet with one of our site. Now we are observe the application working slow over the GRE tunnel. When we have removed the qos policy from the MPLS link the application are working fine.My question is why it is happning on the gre tunnel. So how to overcome the problem. Shall we need to apply the qos policy on the GRE tunnel alos ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI work as an administrator for a small business (~30pc and a Windows 2003 R2 server ).Recently, we started to have problem with our lan, the network start to kinda lock-up randomly. For example, browsing folders is fine then you switch to one and the explorer window just do nothing (with a loading cursor) and after 4 second everything refresh and work again, then in word or any other program (sometime not even related to network files/folder) you press the save button and it do the same, do nothing for 4-5 seconds then refresh and work again.I'm positive that no process on the server take up enough CPU time to do that, it's not a per-pc problem since everybody is affected when the problem start and when I reboot the server it work like a charm for another day then the problem may restart the next day.Nothing show up in the event viewer of both PCs and the server and we can't find a correlation between the problem and high CPU/LAN usage on the server (at worse CPU is used at 10% and LAN at 2%).Our RAID controller and our SAS HDs are working flawlessly, we're in the process to change our infrastructure anyway but since I can refer to people that may know their stuff way more than myself I though Id ask here.We first though that our switches may be in cause but then why rebooting the server would be correcting the problem ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm working with a Cisco Unified CM 7.0There are sevral ip phones in the place.ach phone has a 3 digit extension tied to it. no matter where on the network that phone is plugged in that phone has the same extension. This is a problem because one phone (extension 134) is damaged and was swapped out with a phone that has extension 102. I want that phone that has extension 102 to have the extension 134 instead.So that is my problem. I must say I am merely a CCNA and I have no idea about this voip stuff. I thought it was a simple log in to the server and make a single change. boy was I wrong. I clicked on call routing, then I clicked on Directory number and I got a list of all the DNs. I then click on extension 102 and 134. I noticed the MAC of the respective phones was in a field titled associated devices. I then dissociated both phones thinking I could just associate the appropriate phones next. as soon as I hit save that entire section disappeared. Now those extension aren't tied to any phone and once more those phones now have no extensions. I am freaking out because I can't undo this. I've clicked on literally every single option inside this server. I am in way over my head. I will include a picture to illestrate what I am talking about.

My question is what is the best way to swap out the supervisor module? Can the SUP720 be added as a standby module so that the config can be transferred? Probably a long shot. Is there anything in this swap that I should be concerned with? The other three modules should be pretty straight forward.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI went through the install procedure outlined in the ProtectLink Gateway install manual and i activated the ProtectLink Web product through Trend Micro (which shows up through their web site as a registered product to me). It still doesn't show up as installed on the SA540 (under Administration/License Management screen). When I try to activate the product again, it shows as "Already registered". Trend has no idea why it won't work. They said Cisco sold the license, so try their support.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHad a switch die over the weekend, a c3560, per our normal procedure I pulled the hardware put a very basic config on it(vlans, portchannel, uplink ports, ip of management vlan, con and vty security, snmp, enable secret, and hostname). Then I use solarwinds orion to upload a copy of the old config to bring the switch back to the same state as the one that failed. Its a system that has worked for us 3 or 4 times in the past. But this time when the base config was on the box it couldnt ping across the network.I have tried clearing the arp cache and the dynamic mac tables, i verified the routing tables and even removed the 10.1.185.128/27 route and re-added it, saw the routing update go across to the other 65k, tried bouncing the edge switch(i cant bounce the 65k's), took down the po between the edge and 65k.

Now every time I am at my home, my computer, ipad, and iphone keep redirecting to comcast home activation page. The problem is the home activation page that comes up is for one of the apartments I set-up for my employer. It seems to be stuck on the final steps of this other persons comcast set-up and I cant get it to go away. I have a Linksys router with a secure network. It shows I am connected to my network, but when I try to get on-line it send me right back to Comcast activation page for someone elses account. Countless calls to Comcast have gotten me know where. Since the final steps of the comcast activation involve downloading desk top software, and the ipad will not let you download desktop software even into dropbox. It has made my ipad useless when I'm at home.

When I go to the license page in the router, there is a link to renew, but that just takes me to the website to enter the new key code, then receive an activation code. There is not howver any link to enter the activation code. I assume that once the license actually expires, the activation link will then show up, but there must be a way to get to this page ahead of time.
View 3 Replies View Relatedwe have a WLC 4404, Software Version 4.2.61.0 and the following Problem. The WLC worked for many years with the SSID "SKHGR". In addition to the existing SSID I have a second SSID "SKHGR-M" is created. The configuration of the two SSID's is identical.
The problem is: when I activate the second SSID, the AP losing connection with the WLC. In the log appears"AP disassociated. ... Base Radio" and "
"not advertising ssid due to radio policy". The AP's connect with the WLC, lose after few seconds the contact.
We have in our business some RV042 with Cisco ProtectLink Webfiltering. Until now we do not had any problem of activate the licence and it works has we axpected.
But the two last time that we went through the install procedure outlined in the ProtectLink Gateway install manual, the both RV042 do not run the service, we do not know why... So we have decide to stop buy and sold them until we find a solution.
The firmware install are the last one.
When I try to activate the product again, it shows as "Already registered". Trend has no idea why it won't work. They said Cisco sold the license, so try their support.
If you hot swap a 100M card with a Gig module in a live 4500 switch, what happens to the running-config? Don't have the module versions to hand.
