View 15 Replies View RelatedWorking on a project consolidating all controllers to a single 8500 controller with a standby. Moved an AP over to test the process and everything worked fine. Took a little longer than I thought it would, but given the design with new flexconnect abilities, the creation of AP groups well you know.
I get the AP over and one of my ssids doesnt work because the key is different, so gotta move the AP back over to resolve production issues.
when downgrading from 7.4 to 7.0?
Is it possible to enable load balancing for a particular group of APs and disabled for the rest. Perhaps AP groups. Running 8500 WLC with 3600 series APs. It will enhance the service concurrent user capacities for areas with a high device count.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a XPS8500 with Win7 64bit and last week entered internet via wlan without problems. After an automated update I get a "limited connectivity" despite excellent signal strength. If I restore the system to 15:16 settings, everything works fine. However after a restart I am confronted with "limited connectivity" again.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAre there any plans to support the "converged wireless access mode" on the 8500 controllers ? Don't want to buy this $$$ controller to throw it away in a couple of months when 3850 switches will start appearing and require local termination...
BTW: will the 3850 ever support just plain pass-through for wireless ? The local termination is a PITA because i will need to replace my WiFi AP at the same time i replace my access switch since current AP are not supported on 3850.
The wlc config guide of Release 7.4 states that sticky key caching (usefull with apple devices) is supported at AP in local mode. [URL]I am testing the new WLC 8500 with 7.4.100.60.
AP mode = FlexConnect
The wlan i activated skc is centrally switched.I debugged the iPhone (4S) roaming.I think skc works at centrally switched vlan on flexconnect APs.

I have a Dell XPS 9100 system which has a Dell Wireless-N 1525 PCIe WLAN (a/g/b/n) card which I would like to transfer into my new Dell 8500 which comes with a Dell Wireless 1703 WLAN (g/b/n) half minicard. This is because the Dell 1525 is dual band and is faster than the Dell 1525. I would like to get the procedure for installing the Wireless-N 1525 PCIe WLAN card into the XPS 8500 (and replacing the 1703 half minicard).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having a very frustrating problem with my new Dell XPS 8500's wireless connection - Dell Wireless 1703 802.11b/g/n (2.4GHz). Basically, I am losing my network connection every couple of minutes. The process goes something like this:
1) Not connected - Connections are available
2) My network disappears completely (yet all other local networks are still visible) for a matter of seconds then reappears
3) I try to connect and receive "Windows was unable to connect"
4) I press "Troubleshoot problems"
5) "Resolving problems", "Resetting network adapter", "Troubleshooting has completed"
6) Problem with wireless adapter or access point - Fixed
7) I am reconnected to the network/internet with a full 5 bars
8) Process repeats itself five minutes later
I have been able to come to a conclusion that is not the adapter, or the router, but some sort of compatibility issue as:
a) I have tried connecting to a different wireless network and it has worked fine
b) There are other systems in the household that connect to the network and are not experiencing the same issue
It is not a distance issue as router is 2 meters away from the adapter with nothing in between, the other systems that use the network are much further away.
What I have tried so far: - Changing the channel from "Auto" to a set number
The router is a Belkin N300 Wireless N.
I have a Dell XPS 8500 with Dell 1073 802.11b/g/n Network adapter, recently I have change my old linksys WRT54G router for a new TP-Link TL-WR2543ND router. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased a new Dell XPS 8500 desktop computer (running Windows 7) to replace my old Dell XPS 420 that died.
I have set up the internet connection on the new computer, however the Ethernet connection is painfully slow. Most webpages take forever to load, that is if they load at all. However, when I use my laptop on wireless, the speed is fine so there is no problem with the network - it must be an issue with the computer.
The laptop also works fine when connected via Ethernet.
Is there something hidden away in Internet settings that could be the cause of the slow speed, or could I just have a dodgy network card? I could easily buy a network card as there are empty slots to install. The computer will be under warranty, but would probably be easier to buy a network card for a few dollars and install myself rather than have someone come out.
I ran the Bigpond ADSL installation disk to install the relevant drivers and configure the settings automatically. I use a T-Gateway TG797n v3.
I've been having an issue with my Dell, when it goes into Power Save Mode (not Sleep or Hibernate), my Graphics Card crashes and I can't see anything when I move the mouse to Wake Up my screen. This is something I have come to live with since I hear the Power Supply for my Graphics Card is too weak (AMD 7870). Sometimes, I have to do a Hard Reboot by holding the Power button and then restarting the computer.
I did that yesterday and realized that my internet connection keeps cutting every 5-10 seconds (literally). I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate. What I did so far was uninstall the driver and get the latest one. That hasn't worked at all.
I have 2 other devices connected to my Wi-Fi, a Dell Laptop that is working perfectly and a smartphone. Both of these haven't been dropping the connection at all. I'm thinking that either something became corrupt by doing my Hard Reboots or it's some kind of compatibility issue. I bought this computer in November 2012 and haven't had an issue like this since but now I can't do anything on web because it takes ages to visit websites.
I recently installed Windows 8 on my dell xps 8500 - this was via the discount offer by dell when I bought it with windows 7.
At first I was able to download from the internet but now all I get is this message:
"file is corrupt or unreadable"
Of course this is impossible on every download.
A friend has asked me to work with him set up a new office. He already has a PC and a phone line but not broadband, so he is going to organise that and getting a wireless router. He wants a wireless colour laser printer so that his visitors/guests can print easily from his office, or the next office. Does he really need a wireless printer to do this? Or if I plug a network printer directly into his router with an Ethernet cable, same with his PC, will that enable laptop users to print wirelessly (assuming they know the router passphrase of course)? I guess they would need to install the relevant printer driver to do this too.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a wireless router (D-Link DIR-625) connected to the modem for our high speed DSL. I have two Brother MFC printers, one is a laser (MFC-9420CN) connected w/ a Cat-5 directly to the router, the other is an ink-jet MFC-6490CN and I would like to use it wireless....but I could connect it to the router if I need to.I have wireless connection to the internet, from my HP 32-bit PC (running Vista-Ultimate), but can not see either of the printers on the network, and cannot print to either. I manually configured both to have an IP within the range of my network, but they still do not work. The problem (I think) could be with the IPCONFIG. (I had no problem last year, but we recently had a few power outages, and now the PC doesn't seem to 'see' any of the printers.) I checked the IPCONFIG. it states 'media disconnected', but I can ping the one wireless printer??? I can not ping the laptop on the network or the laser printer (I confirmed it's ipconfig before pinging).
I know the network card can't be bad, or I couldn't get to the router to access the internet. I also went into the cmd prompt as the administrator and did the /release/renew/all but that didn't work either.
I presently have a fiber internet connection to my office with about 40 wireless users on a single AP. The connection keeps dropping. Probably due to too many users on a single AP?
1. My question is similar to aniketchitale's, can get another wireless router, create a different SSID (eg. router1 and router2), but both wireless routers still connected to the same fiber connection. In other words, I would like to segregate the first 20 users to router 1 and the next 20 users to router 2.
2. By having 2 wireless routers each with their unique SSID, will all the users still be able to access to the same printer in the office?

View 5 Replies View RelatedWe have a WAP2000 that supports a few wireless users in a shop environment. Users authenticate using RADIUS. Users connect without issue and can browse the Internet.
The main local network uses a Cisco 800 router to connect to the Internet via DSL and there is an IPsec VPN tunnel to our main office.
When a user is connected to the network via a wired connection, all systems work as expected. If they are on wireless, they cannot connect to services at the main office. They must make a PPTP VPN connection for applications to function.
The WAP2000 has the latest firmware 2.0.4.0. It has a static IP on the local subnet.
