MY ISP installed one router in my lab.for internet connectivity they mail me steps :connect your Laptop directly to gi0/3 port to check internet connectivity with public ip 1.1.1.x and Gateway 1.1.1.1 with subnet mask 255.255.255.240 after connection I surprised because I am able to access only google sites like gmail,google search etc. but I am able to ping/traceroute all sites.from browser I am able to access only google sites only.In Router no firewall no such access list.

Rebooting clears the discrepancy for a short time before it drops an hour exactly. I'm in the central time zone and the setting are correct on the basic setup.?

I also have Qos Engine on for allowing me to have 2 xboxes on Open NAT.problem is my wireless signal for some wired reason is VERY weak. A while ago it used to work really far way outside. It was around 150ft distance at 4 bars. Now for some reason I can't even go upstairs without getting a 1 or 2 bar signal.

Ciso 1941 router frozen once a day, sometimes after 2 to 7 days. When the router frozen, no internet connection and cannot login/ping ethernet ports. I can login to console port and copy the error messages below. Reload the router and it will return back to normal operation. Re-installed IOS but still the same.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 655 and two TVs. One is connected to my network by a Samsung 5700 Blu Ray player, and the other is connected by x box. The x box is 20 ft away from my router and the Blue Ray is about 60 away with one wall between. The x box pulls movies down and plays them no problem, and Blue Ray takes about a minute for loading the moving, will start playing but them pauses several times throughtout the movie showing the loading sign on screen.

I have tried resetting the router, ping the website and get "request timed out"The firmware is up to date version 2.25 I have tried other computers that access the same network and they also cant stream the audio.I have also turned off my windows 7 firewall with no luck I can access other sites I visit and stream audio just fine so I wonder if the router may be blocking something on this website?Is there a way to allow an audio stream to come through that may be blocked by the router?

Thinking of moving my moden and router to TV and making my desktop wireless and hardwireing my media server I think it called ( still yet to be bought still doing home work on which one to get and how to hook up ) Thinking less signal loss be hardwired to media server. I now have AT&T DSL 1.5 MB upgrading to 6.0 MB to stream netflicks . Do you think 6 MB will steam OK? Should I Go with just a USB adapter or go to PCI internal Adapter? In reading some of the other post seems hit or miss on adapter seeing and working with routher. When I watch videos on streaming sites the load bar tends to go up but only so far before freezing. If you slide the button along once the umbrella spinny thing gets going then the load bar will kick back into life again for a few seconds before freezing! The problem also effects downloads. Anything that takes longer the 5 or 10 seconds will fail. This has stopped me downloading simple things such as iplayer and flash updates. I know its not a problem with my computer as it effects all the machines that pass through the house. Were currently getting Virgin wireless broadband (so I dont think its a speed issue).A tecky friend of mine thinks it might be something to do with the 'packets' of information or the channel that my router is operating on

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a ton of 720p/1080p content I would like to stream to my main HD TV. Connected to the TV is a PS3 and an Xbox 360. I understand that both of these devices have a DLNA client. My question is what hardware should I use to stream the content, and where should the hardware be connected.I have considered the following options.
* HDD with built in DLNA such as: WD My Book Live 3TB Personal Cloud Storage(direct connection to the game console or plugged into my Linksys E4200 via its USB port)
* NAS server with built in DLNA such as: D-Link DNS-320 ShareCenter 2-Bay Network Storage device(connected to my Linksys E4200 via ethernet port)
If I went with a HDD solution, could it be connected directly to the PS3 or Xbox rather than using the wifi? If I decided to go wireless, & use the PS3 which is 802.11G only, I might be concerned about whether it can handle 1080p content. The Xbox is 802.11N which may handle it better, but that's just a guess. I have no hardwired network connections to my TV area.
Bottom line, whether it be wireless, or connecting a HDD directly to a device (which i'm not certain if that's even possible) I need to be able to play 720p/1080p content reliably.I value the input of HF users and would like to hear some recommendations on hardware and setup that would work for me.
