I resetted the router, could get to the Interface.. and now i can't And besides that, the internet connection get's picky to what lets work For example i could use gmail .. but not this page.. or instant messaging worked, but not browsing (and the speed was awful)
at the moment the connection seems stable though (the changes from above were made)
This may seem blatantly obvious to some of you, but is it possible to connect a wireless router wirelessly to a wireless dsl modem. Due to geographic issues in the building, I would like to prevent running a cable from A to B if possible.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have a HP Pavilion with Vista that we cannot get connected wirelessly to centurylink's pk5001z. It will connect to the internet if it is hooked up to the ethernet cable. We can take this laptop to McDonald's and use their wi-fi, or at my parents...or seemingly anywhere else. We have successfully connected 3 other laptops to the wireless signal thru the pk5001z. We had the geeksquad advise us several times...going as far as they accessed this laptop remotely...and still can't obtain a solution. Do we need a different modem? The laptop sees that there is a network available but won't allow access to it. (it shows the network name in () and indicates local connection only)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI came home last night and both my internet name and password were changed. I accessed the modem's website and changed both. I then hit connect to internet. My xbox worked, but none of my laptops. This morning I reset all the modem and the laptops. All of them connect but the internet is slow and fades in and out. My xbox tells my my NAT type is moderate. I go back on the modem's website and it says that none of my wireless devices can connect.

Today I plug in my home internet and it won't work. Unplug it and turn the wireless back on and it gets online just fine.
I'm having trouble connecting to my Belkin router wirelessly (Wired works fine). I try to get to the IP address (192.168.0.2 and every other version of that) but it does not connect. On the router only Security, Wired, and Router are lit up; Wireless, Modem, and Internet are dark. I have reached the end of my limited computer capabilities trying to fix this problem myself.

I haven't used my computer in quite a long time (7 months) as it stopped working and is miraculously working again now (huzzah!) but the wireless does not, when it was perfect previously.
I have run IPCONFIG/ALL and the details are below. This is done with the ethernet cable attached.

Yesterday everything was working fine, but when I got home today I couldn't connect to my router. I tried connecting on my computer, my mac, and my netbook ALL couldn't even find the SSID. I directly connected my mac and netbook to my modem and was able to connect to the internet, so I know it's not an ISP problem. I then re-connected the WAN cord from my modem to the back of my Netgear Wireless-G Router WGR614V10. All the lights come on but I still can't find the router when I tried connecting wirelessly. When I connect an Ethernet cord to a LAN port on the router, I can get connection.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't connect via wifi to my router, but can connect to the internet with an ethernet cable. However, my other computer connects via wifi without problems. I've gone through my troubleshooting and the wifi light is on, so that's not the issue. I also updated my driver (says it's working fine) and even tried to uninstall and reinstall it. I am not sure what else to do. If I try to connect via wifi though, the computer recognizes all the available networks, including my own, but just won't connect. It says a cable is unplugged (which at that time it is, because it's supposed to connect wirelessly).I have a HP Pavilion dv6-3147sb Entertainment notebook, and it uses Windows 7.

View 8 Replies View Related-I was using wireless fine a couple hours ago
-Decided to mess with proxy settings with chrome
-Downloaded "proxyswitchy" chrome extension
-Obtained an IP and port # from hidemyass.com
-Tried to connect to internet, got message "unable to connect to proxy server"
-Decided this proxy stuff isn't worth it, deleted the proxy extension
-Reset router
-Now wireless isn't working on ANY laptop- it shows a connection available but cannot connect to it, however wired connection works (and is how I'm on here right now)Is this as simple as setting up a new wireless connection?
-went under "proxy server" under "LAN settings" in ctrl panel
-The box which stated "use a proxy for LAN" was checked, and the address and port I obtained from hidemyass were underneath
-I unchecked the box, applied the new settings, and reset my router
-Still doesn't connect wirelessly
I just bought a DGND3700, but can't get wifi working. It connects to the internet fine, but devices can only connect via ethernet cable. I can see the SSIDs - both 2.4GHz and 5GHz - but whenever I try to connect, after entering the password I'm told that "Windows was unable to connect to (SSID)". Of course, the Windows troubleshooter, but no luck. This problem happens across all my PCs and phones. The router has the latest firmware version. All blocking, access control, etc. settings are turned off.

I was hoping that I could get another wireless router that would connect (wirelessly) to my existing wireless network, then I could plug my laptop into the second router.
