So, my desktop, running windows 7, can no longer connect to the internet. It has no problem connecting to the router, but it will not receive packets. I double checked my connection using my laptop and it works with wireless and wired connections, so I know it's something with my desktop. I would really like to avoid doing a reinstall, I don't have anywhere to back my data up to.
View 5 RepliesMy desktop doesnt connect to internet, but my internet works fine wid wi-fi systems like mobiles and tabs. IE/Chrome/Firefox all have the same prob. But when I remove the ethernet connection, shut down and then start my system and then connect the lan, all the 3 browsers work fine. I'm noticing this issue after I've uninstalled TuneUP Utilities trial pack and/or after I've installed LABTEC wireless Keyboard and mouse. Later on I've uninstalled the LABTEC software, but still its no use.

I bought a new router for faster internet speed - Netgear N600. I now have internet on the two laptops, the Kindle Fire HD & my Iphone. I cannot access the internet on the desktop. It shows that I am connected to an unidentified network but I can't get online. The techs I talked to said it's a problem with my computer but I didn't have that problem before.

I also have two laptops connected to the same router. The laptops connect to the internet fine but the desktop doesn't. I connected to the internet fine (satellite) before I moved but won't connect now. Norton 360 can update automatically and Skype connects but I can't open web pages. I used the norton tool and uninstalled Norton 360 but it still won't connect. I'm attaching the ipconfig information.

I have been having problem with my internet lately. I live in UK and there is this game that I used to play that has a region IP block so I have to use Hotspot shield to play,but now my internet doesn't connect to Hotmail or this forum unless hotspot shield is turned on. How can I fix that? I tried config/flushdns but no luck. I am using window xp.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThe electric went off in my house about an hour ago, causing my computer to turn off as a result. Ever since, the internet on my PC has been acting up.
My internet was working perfectly before the power cut both on my laptop (my mum was using it at the time) and PC, however, while I've got no problems with the internet on the laptop, my PC keeps losing the connection to a ridiculous degree. It'll drop the connection for over a minute at a time, come back on literally long enough for me to refresh/load 1 webpage (~5 seconds), then go back off again for another minute or two.
All the lights on the router are on and I've even cross-referenced (lacking a better term...) the internet connection between my lap top and desk top and my laptop will work fine when my PC is telling me there's no connection and nothing will load on it. It seems to me that something has happened to my desktop when the power went out but I have no idea where to begin to even try to find out what's wrong.
I've tried turning off the router by both the wall and the little button on the back of it, and I've restarted my PC twice as well and still the internet doesn't work properly. My laptop picked up the connection as soon as the router came back on with no problem but my desktop struggled to find the connection and only picked it up after turning the router off twice aand restarting the computer twice as well and as I said, when it finally did find the connection it just keeps dropping it.
A couple of days ago I bought a new desktop PC (Here is the link if anybody wants info on the PC [URL] but anyway, I'll get to my problem. My wireless router is downstairs in the living room and my desktop PC is upstairs in the bedroom. Theoretically, My PC's wireless card should be able to reach the router perfectly, being as I have several other PC's in the house that I use from my bedroom and the connection is 'Very Good' to 'Excellent'. Although with this new computer the connection's strength is very weak and it's so slow using the internet or trying to download things. It's internet is almost unusable. I've tried swapping the wireless card, but to avail. The connection is still awful.
Or of a way to boost the signal of my wireless card?
My desktop with Windows Vista is connected to the modem with a standard ethernet cord, and when I try to plug the same cord into my laptop I don't get any internet access. My laptop is running Windows 7. I have tried powering the modem off for 15 seconds multiple times, but to no avail. I am just trying to make this connection work until I purchase a router.

The internet doesn't work with cable nor Wi-Fi and I've tried almost everything, ping, configuring the DNS, IP, disabling everything, enabling everything, nslookup doesn't work, releasing and renewing doesn't work too, and to make things worst.(In the main computer, everything works just fine and the router settings appear to be correct too, my computer also works perfectly fine in other places with WLAN).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my DIR 825. It had 2.02NA Firmware in it. It had a few options that I wanted to use but didn't work. So I thought I would update firmware. I follow the instruction from dlink to install firmware. So I loaded 2.03 and noticed internet connection not working. So then I loaded 2.05 part1 and part2. Still could get internet connection to work but the reason to upgrade the option I wanted worked. So then I loaded 2.06 and still same result. No internet connection. So then I loaded the original firmware back in and internet connection works. Why doesn't the internet work on the other firmware updates. I got the updates from dlink website. I'm having a problem with Wake on Lan. (I'll bet you never guessed from the title, eh?). I have an E4200 and I can not get WoL to work over the internet.(I'm assuming it's not actually going out to the internet when I wirelessly wake it using shawn.dynamicservice.com and the subnet, but rather the DDNS name is being resolved through the ARP cache, but I don't know. I'm still learning) Consequently, if the sentence above in parenthesis is correct, I am unable to perform WoL from outside my LAN. What am I missing?

I turned it on today and it automatically connected to my home network as usual and when I hover over the network icon it says there is Internet Access but when I open Firefox it can not connect to any websites. My Dell destop with Windows 7 all of a sudden doesn't seem to recognize my router, yet my laptop works fine (which I'm using now). After reading other posts, I reset the router with no results, used a new cable from the Belkin to the computer, changed ports, checked connections, restarted; nothing. When I do an ipconfig, a small window pops open and goes off before I can make anything out. I undestand Belkin's IP address is 192.168.2.1 and I'm showing that my IPv4DHCP Server is that, as is my DNS server. The IPv4WINS server shows nothing.

1) TP link wireless adapter
2) Netgear N600 wireless dual band usb adapter.

I have a very simple and standard setup.My main desktop pc is connected to my TP Link TL-WR841ND wireless router and that is connected to my issued Time Warner cable modem. In my room I have a desktop pc with a TP Link TL-WN722N wireless adapter and my brother has a PlayStation 3 in his room.For months I have had flawless wireless internet connection between my desktops and PlayStation 3, but for the past few days I noticed that when the main desktop is on it prevents my adapter and PlayStation from making wireless connections to the router.
The only time my desktop with the adapter and PlayStation 3 is able to connect is only when the main desktop is turned off or physically disconnected from the router. Now, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Ethernet driver, resetting both the modem and router, and setting everything up from square one to no avail. I know it has to be something simple but I'm hoping I won't have to format my main desktop PC.
When I log into the routers configuration page through internet explorer and check the Wireless Statistics page showing the currently connected wireless stations and packets, I have noticed that very few packets are being sent out, like the adapter and PlayStation 3 are being blocked by the desktop. I had Norton installed on it a week or two ago just to do a quick scan, then I uninstalled it.
I have a current issue with my 2008 R2 machine.I cannot get Remote Desktop to work. Client machine is Windows 7 Ultimate, windows firewall on the Server machine is disabled, Telnet to port 3389 works (as in, it doesn't error out it gives me a blank screen), the account I'm trying to login to is the only account on the machine (Administrator). Remote Desktop service is installed and set to allow connections on the less secure mode.

My desktop doesn't have a wireless adapter I always had it set up on a direct connection. So I went to the E3000 support and downloaded the software on my laptop and burned it to a DVD and put it in my desktop so I could update the drivers manually and be able to connect to the internet. It just shows the admin share of C$ immediately. If I choose 'New' at the bottom of the panel a new drive letter and drive name can be entered but it can never be accessed over the network! It shows up in the workgroup but I get a network error 'Network path not found' if I try to access it. I can ping the laptop from anywhere by name and IP address.The laptop can access all the other PCs without any problem.
