I have an problem with VPN connection on notebooks. Sometimes the VPN connection works perfectly, and other times it just doesn't work at all.The Cisco VPN client software is version 5.0.04.0300. View 1 RepliesThe electric went off in my house about an hour ago, causing my computer to turn off as a result. Ever since, the internet on my PC has been acting up.
My internet was working perfectly before the power cut both on my laptop (my mum was using it at the time) and PC, however, while I've got no problems with the internet on the laptop, my PC keeps losing the connection to a ridiculous degree. It'll drop the connection for over a minute at a time, come back on literally long enough for me to refresh/load 1 webpage (~5 seconds), then go back off again for another minute or two.
All the lights on the router are on and I've even cross-referenced (lacking a better term...) the internet connection between my lap top and desk top and my laptop will work fine when my PC is telling me there's no connection and nothing will load on it. It seems to me that something has happened to my desktop when the power went out but I have no idea where to begin to even try to find out what's wrong.
I've tried turning off the router by both the wall and the little button on the back of it, and I've restarted my PC twice as well and still the internet doesn't work properly. My laptop picked up the connection as soon as the router came back on with no problem but my desktop struggled to find the connection and only picked it up after turning the router off twice aand restarting the computer twice as well and as I said, when it finally did find the connection it just keeps dropping it.
it keeps disconnecting and ping breaks all the time.other laptop and phones work fine.and if i go 5-10 meters away from router it gets worse.tried new drivers and bios.even tried to change settings of wireless card still problem is there.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the WUSB600N wireless adapter, and I'm using it with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I'm using the latest driver available, 3.0.10.0. When Windows first starts, the adapter is not working properly and fails to connect to any networks, no matter how long I wait. If I unplug it and plug it back in after Windows is already running, I do not have this issue. This also does not occur when "restarting" the machine; only when turning the machine off and then back on.

I updated the firmware to 1.02 and messed around with various settings but it just won't work. Well, I can get registered and everything looks ok but, when I receive a call, the person at the other end can't hear me. I can hear them fine, but they can't hear me. I don't have any problem when I call someone. Still, it is frustrating. The problem persist even though I put the ATA in the DMZ.

It has firmware 1.0.04 (but this problem happened with earlier firmware that it shipped with).I have a problem with the DHCP server on the E1500 - or maybe its a bad client - one of my clients, happens to be an iPad-2 doesn't seem to get properly connected. all of my other wireless DHCP clients - windows vista, windows 7, linux, android, mac and an old iPad1 all connect without problems. I also have wired devices that get their IP via DHCP for my TV, blu-ray, slingbox, DVR, without problems, its just this iPad2 that tries to connect, seems that it does, but can't access anything on the internet.I see this on the DCHP Client list (Status -> Local Network -> DHCP Client Table from the web interface) and I'm quite sure this is the cause of the problem with the iPad2. that MAC address is the address of my iPad2, and that IP# is the one I reserved for it.
I've set up that MAC address to have a reserved IP#, and forced the client name to Rays-IPad2 (as its named on the device) but it has the same behaviour as letting the DCHP server give it an IP# from its address pool. And if I reboot the E1500 and reboot the iPad2, it does actually connect for a few seconds, I can bring up a page in safari, etc, but soon within a few seconds, it switches the client name to this display of question-marks (non printable characters presumably) and it can no longer get to the internet.Is there anything I can do or try? There isn't another DCHP server running on the network, I don't know if something with the cable modem is causing a conflict, and if it were I'm not sure what I could do about that.
I'm working on an M5030 that has a red X on the wireless and will not find any networks.
- The ethernet connection WORKS
- The fn+f2 wireless switch combo seems to do nothing
- I've updated the bios
- I've uninstalled and installed the latest driver
- I've installed external USB wireless adapter but it has same issue
- I've scanned for malware, all clean.
When I go to network adapters it has signal bars on the wireless adapter but when I right click -> connect disconnect -> nothing shows as available. If I diagnose, it just says there may be a problem with the wireless adapter. I've tried DISABLING ZoneAlarm firewall to no avail also.
I have a new Lenovo Ideapad laptop and Im having problems connecting to internet using ethernet cable. The thing is this problem occurs only at one particular place (dorms) because Im having no internet problems at other locations.
It looks like this: I connect using ethernet cable, Windows 7 identifies the network and everything looks normal, but there is no internet when I open a browser (I tried IE, Firefox and Chrome). It just loads and loads and sometimes it loads my Google homepage, but only after approximately 30 seconds or it does not load it at all. The same applies for other pages - they do not load or they load after a minute, but the pages are incomplete, they look like HTML
When I do a ping at CMD, it shows the same problem, the replies are slow or it shows "request timed out". I tried pinging various pages or IPs with same results. The only thing Im able to ping normally is the IP of my network adapter. My IPv4 is set to automatic, but I also tried manual parametres, just in case.I tried 3 different cables, switching antivirus and frewall off, did spyware search, switching IPv6 off, switching WiFi off, reseting the main dorm router etc etc...
Strange thing is that my laptop works perfectly anywhere else (home, work...) so I suppose there is no problem with the configuration of my laptop or network adapter, BUT the internet provider says there is no problem with their network or router since other laptops works normally at THAT location (even my other laptop does work there), so mine Lenovo is the only laptop which is having problems... and when I check the properties of the network, upload is always higher than download, but generally both are very small one more strange thing: I can watch live stream videos using one particular software and I can download torrents quite normally, but loading Google and other pages is a major problem, even Outlook or Google Earth/Talk does not work properly

I have the e4200 and I am having trouble getting DHCP reservation to work properly with my Windows 7 machines. Perhaps there is a step that I am missing. Basically I go to the DHCP reservation setup page, select my machine and add it to the reservation table. Then I save the changes. As soon as I do this my computer goes offline. If I reboot my machine, it is still offline. I've tried the same procedure to reserve the IP address for my phone and it works fine so I wonder if the problem is with Win7.

It just shows the admin share of C$ immediately. If I choose 'New' at the bottom of the panel a new drive letter and drive name can be entered but it can never be accessed over the network! It shows up in the workgroup but I get a network error 'Network path not found' if I try to access it. I can ping the laptop from anywhere by name and IP address.The laptop can access all the other PCs without any problem.

My husband got a virus I couldn't remove. I have the CD for XP Home so I did a clean install.Windows works fine. I connected the USB wireless adapter and ran the installation disk. When I open Realtek to connect nothing appears in the available networks. I checked the device mgr and it says Realtek is working. I turned off my 2Wire gateway and then reconnected it. i tried with 4 wlan adapters: two of them support 802.11b/g, they always work find no matter which settings. the other two support 802.11b/g/n, as default "n" is enabled, so does DIR-615, both wlan adapters can be connected to DIR-615, they get their LAN-IP, but they can access neither DIR-615(no respone to ping) nor internet. but if i disable "n" mode either in the adapter or in DIR-615, everythin works fine, of course only with 54mbit max.
so what can i do to use the n mode?
All wires terminate in the basement as a RJ-45 plug, to be plugged into a switch housed in an old circuit breaker box. The first wire went off without a hitch, the jack works, the plug works, all is right with the world. The router for the home is currently plugged into that outlet so as to give the entire network as we build it internet. The second outlet is giving us problems though. I've fished the wire up the wall as before, and the length of wire is shorter than the first run. When I terminate the end upstairs as a jack, then plug in my laptop, it refuses to connect. It says the network cable is unplugged. If I terminate the cable as a plug, then plug it directly into the laptop, suddenly everything works. I have tried so far 3 different jacks, tested continuity on the jacks, and tested continuity on the wire to the jack pins to make sure the terminal block was working and everything came back green

And then everything changed back to its original like my SSID from Netcom it changed back to wireless and everything was default and also the PPP was off so i wasn't able to connect to the internet. So i went to my router setup page on the internet or whatever and turned it back on. For a good while now, at my home, the internet has been awful.Web pages barely load if at all, I can't play any online games, but when I start a download, either by torrent or regular, the download speed is perfectly fine, reaching the normal 500 kb/s. My router is TP-Link W9801G. We get TV through the router as well, and there never was any problem with it. It works fine, just like the download speed. The DNS and IP settings are all set to automatic like they should, and of course I've tried unplugging and resetting everything.I know it's not the computer's network adapter, because it's the same thing at my laptop when I connect to it wirelessly. The signal strength is at all 5 bars too

I upgraded my computer with a new graphics card and power supply. When I turned it on everything ran fine except for the internet. I either get a connection with 1 bar, a connection but no internet acess, or no internet at all. Did I damage something on the motherboard that could cause this?

The internet doesn't work with cable nor Wi-Fi and I've tried almost everything, ping, configuring the DNS, IP, disabling everything, enabling everything, nslookup doesn't work, releasing and renewing doesn't work too, and to make things worst.(In the main computer, everything works just fine and the router settings appear to be correct too, my computer also works perfectly fine in other places with WLAN).
