View 3 RepliesSometimes the router has too many devices connected to it and the other people living with me don't understand this so they keep their iPhones, iPads, laptops, et cetera connected via WiFi even though I tell them to turn off the WiFi setting when they're not using it. So it kicks me off constantly, not sure why, but I don't mind too much. Basically when I'm "connected" but not really connected I remotely reset the router so I don't have to walk upstairs all the time.
I've reset it without troubles before. But did it tonight and now it's completely screwed up. I run a windows diagnostics test and it comes up with: "Wireless network connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration."

I bought a brand new acer aspire one 722 notebook and it works fine except I can't connect to the internet. After I run the diagnostics I get the following problem detected: "Wireless network connection doesn't have a valid ip configuration."

View 4 Replies View Relatedi just deployed Cisco NAC version 4.8.1 Virtual Gateway OOB on a LAN envieronment and on a WLAN envieronment, it works fine for some users , they can authenticate via the agent or web page, and then they are redirected to the access vlan, But for some other users in LAN and WLAN , when they try to authenticate via agent or web page the following error appears:
Invalid switch configuration-OOB Error:OOB client "mac/ip" not found.
I tried to find some pattern for the users but it dont match any pattern.
I am having the Cisco NAC enviroment (Software Version is 4.9.1) and OOB VG.
We are getting the below and attached Error while deploying on some machines.
"Invalid switch configuration-OOB Error:OOB client "mac/ip" not found."
Some users on same switches are working fine but some are not....
What would be the possibilities and any work around? other than keeping the port shudown for long time means that atleast 10 - 20 secs or more or a PC restart. Customer is not feeling comfortable with the current situation.
computer was working fine a few days ago, all of the sudden not able to get online anymore at all, recieve error message 651 with dsl connection, and when trying to connect to wireless get an error message saying invalid ip adress configuration,
ipconfig/all reveals:

I have 2 laptops- both Acer Aspire. I'm trying to share a wireless internet connection on laptop #1 with laptop #2 via a crossover cable. Internet sharing is turned on with laptop#1. both laptops are set to obtain ip automatically. Laptop #2 will connect to #1 with the cable, but the connection shows "Unidentified network No Internet Access. Diagnostics reports "Local area connection invalid ip config. "

trying to connect to router configuration (after several factory resets) at 192.168.0.1 but each time screen displays invalid username / password, doesnot even display username / password window, using admin as username and password, just cannot log on to configuration setup
I'm trying to configure the NAC Profiler with a 3310 CAS Collector. In the "Edit Collector" menú, it shows all the modules as "Running", except for the NetWatch module which shows a state "Invalid configuration file (missingInternalAddress)".
I configured the eth3 interface of the CAS as a monitor interface in the Profiler (see attached image), and I tested that the SPANed traffic actually reaches that interface from the access switch. I'm using software version 3.1.0_24 in both the Profiler and the Collector.
I installed the 2.06NA on my DIR-655 router and now I'm having problems adding mac addresses to the network filter. The message is "Invalid MAC address". Of course, it doesn't tell me which entry is invalid and I have a number of them. After further checking.. I noticed that one of the MAC addresses is indeed invalid and when I remove it I still get the error message?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had no problem running both 2.4 and 5.0 Bandwidth. With WiFi password and without. It does it's job. The 2.4Ghz Range Plus works. I have set up the router on the 2nd floor at the highest it can go. And everyone get's full bars all over the house. I even get 4-5 bars outside in my car on my phone.
The only issue I have with this thing is a damn new netbook I got for Christmas with a Mac Address starting with 0C-EE-E6-XX-XX-XX. The Router finds the Mac Address invalid. In which I can come to understand cause seeing a Mac Address starting like that is completely new to me. Every Mac Address I have, started with 00 except the netbook. So now, I spent days trying to find firmware updates, patches, anything! I even attempted to spoof the Mac Address on the netbook but Microsoft has a bug on Windows 7. (I have the Starter Edition that came with the netbook)
Windows 7 Mac Spoofing works with WIRED Connection. But it does not work with WIRELESS Connection. I used 3rd Party Tools: SMAC and etc... I attempted Registry Edits, I changed even the value key to the "Orginal Mac Address" and it just wont change [New Strings/Network Address Edits included]. I have been banging my head about this for a week now. The Internets has many answers but they did not work. So Spoofing the Mac Address is out of the question. Until Microsoft fixes this bug.
Anyway: Did D-Link release any sort of beta update/driver/firmware or anything to resolve this at all? Is there a modded firmware to force the Router to take this stupid paradox of a Mac Address?
Currently: I have the Router's WiFi Password-ed with Default Factory Settings
{Hardware Version: B1
Firmware Version: 2.02NA}.
I have a problem with my home network/internet - I have a working wireless network that I have used for some time now and it works just fine. the problem is that internet restrictions where I live require me to register each unit to the building network before I can gain access to the internet. My caretaker told me today that normally, I only should register my primary computer and the wireless router to be able to use the internet freely. However when a new laptop appears( I have a guest), I can easily connect it to my own wireless, but it can't use the internet, as if it needed to be registered again. I ran out of registration codes and I really would like to have freedom i connection opportunities. The caretaker said that the system gives every registered unit a "fake" IP, so after giving it to mu router, all other units connected through that router should have unlimited access. Is my network configured in a wrong way? I don't know how to ask this in a more simple way... I just want to be able to connect a friends laptop to the net with just my local password, which isn't happening.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a small workgroup at home of about 4 or 5 computers. All the PC's, notebooks are running W7. I have one PC that I use as my "always on PC", with all my media and resources I use on it. The NetBIOS or computer name assigned to it is mediapc with a static IP of 192.168.254.150. All my other desktop PC's, excluding the notebooks, have a static IP also. The problem is more annoying then anything, and thus I only work on it intermittently. Today I decided to post after wasting much of another day attempting to resolve the issue. The problem is accessing my mediapc from any of my other computers while using the computer name, "mediapc". If I use the static IP assigned above, there is no problems. Everything works, RDP, Dameware, Telnet, SSH, Ping,Tracert, etc. If I use the computer name "mediapc" then it fails with an unreachable host error or similar. The reason it fails is because somewhere in my network or in the mediapc itself, it wants to resolve the "mediapc" name to an unknown IP of 192.168.254.47.
Now with this said, I can still share files and access the mediapc using the name in a UNC syntax, like //mediapc/data works fine or directly clicking on the mediapc share under Network works also. If I Ping mediapc from any other PC than itself, it fails with the 254.47 IP. If I try to use any remote connection software and use the name mediapc, it fails to connect. This is what I know and have tested:
1. Adding a host entry to all the client computers works but does not fix the root of the problem.
2. nslookup mediapc reports the wrong IP of 254.47
3. Remote connections as I mentioned above fail because the name is resolving to an invalid IP.
4. Pinging mediapc from itself, displays the correct IP of 254.150, although I have to use the -4 parameter.
5. Arp -a on all PCs report correct IP of 254.150 with the correct MAC address. (There is no 254.47 listed)
6. NBTstat -a mediapc reports correctly and shows the correct MAC address.
7. Network shares work correctly from and to the mediapc without issue. No access problems.
8. I have deleted all arp entries and flushed the dns with no change.
9. MS mentions to change order of the Bindings of the adapters, yet I only have one Local Area Connection.
My PC says "invalid IP address" when I try to connect. It says the IP address is 00:00:00:00. it only does this on the computer but works fine on all our laptops. I've been googleing solutions and i have tried the 'ipconfig/release' and 'ipconfig/renew' but this doesn't work. It just comes up with a error (I think its because the computer cant connect). We use a Belkin wireless connector. Its windows xp.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy son ran some program that he didn't know what he was doing and now there is no Network access. As far as I know this is what caused the problem, but I'm not certain. When I tried to reinstall the drivers an errors pops up stating that the drivers couldn't be installed due to "Invalid Access To Memory Location". The networking card is an Intel 82566DC-2 Gigabit Network Connection Adapter. The Networking card is part of the Motherboard. I have the original drivers but they will not install due to the "Invalid Access To Memory Location". Anyhow my son went and bought a new networking card, and it gives the exact same error. I tried uninstalling the networking card in the device manager, but when the hardware is reinstalled, and the drivers are about to install it gives the same error. computer is a Dell XPS 420 with 6 gigs of RAM, an Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600@2.40GHz Also in the Device Manager everything under the Heading Network Adapters has a Yellow Triangle with an Exclamation mark in it. I know that this means that there is an error somewhere. I also want to add that when I checked the Netgear GA311 Network adapter card (this is the new card that my son bought)in the Device Manager it says This Device is not working properly because windows cannot load the drivers required for this device (code 31).

I have a small problem with a lot of invalid syslog messages in LMS 3.2. Something about 30% of all messages are invalid.
Is there any posibility to get out from which devices those messages are?
Is it a big problem for the application if there are such a lot of invalid messages? I have a lot of devices in my LMS and don't want to get high load because of such unneeded messages.
I have a d-link router model dir 655.To activate my laptop all that was required was to enter the wps pin.I just purchased an apple ipod touch which is asking for a password.I first tried the wps pin. Then I went to the d-link website and put in my model #.It gave me an ip address which brought up a page where there was a choice admin or user.I picked user. The second choice was to put in a password which I did.The Ipod still says password invalid.I tried numerous times.
