Feb 27, 2013I just purchased 2 AE3000 adapters to update my wireless network and cannot get either of them to connect to my wireless network through either of two computers I tried. It hangs for a while looking for address and then I get the 'limited or no connection' note. But yet when I plug in my old AE1000 adapter into either computer I get connected right away. I've looked under the device manager and it shows up there, the LED lights come on and I see my wireless network show up on available networks. I am using the windows wireless manager in lieu of the Linksys one and as such I don't think any specific drivers are being used. I bought two updated adapters to start with is to keep current and NOT have problems.

Aug 26, 2012I recently updated my WRT54G V3 to frimware 4.21.5 and now get regular wireless connection issues. The wired connection never has any problem (can connect to the router and the internet), but none of the wireless devices can see either.
The problem happens every couple of days, and cycling the power seems to be the only fix. When the problem does occur, the wireless devices don't even see the broadcasted SSID. But cycling the WRT54G's power fixes that.
I've gotten a few suggestions to do a "30-30-30" reset, but can't find exactly what that entails.

One day when I tried to reset the system I had a lot of errors (see attach) and could not go on. After changing the image the following output appeared: "RAM Disk Image Integrity Check Failed (Bad Magic Number) Hanging". Now I have no response from the controller.

I've configured the router using the Easy Setup Assistant CD provided and have a wifi connection between the router provided however when using network diagnostics, while the wifi connection is fine, I am getting "failed to connect to Internet" and "failed to connect to server" messages. I have tried adjusting settings manually but without any progress.

Is the "clear interface cellular 0" the wrong way to test this, or why can't the Router reconnect?The only solution is a reboot, but that is not the best option. The router should automatically redial.
Linksys Cable / DSL :: WAG120N / DIR 600 - Internet Connection Failure
Mar 23, 2012I will just explain my setup:
I have a ADSL Huwavi modem by my ISP installed at my place.. Now the wireless from that device is very bad.. So I purchased WAG120N to setup a daisy-chain kind of setup in my other bedroom. I also put another D-link DIR-600 in between to give a connection to the first floor (via Ethernet cable).
So my huwavi is the ISP device, then a LAN from it goes to the dlink internet (WAN) port. then one cable from the d-link LAN port to the LAN1 of WAG120N and another upstairs.
Now all of this was working perfectly.. I put same SSIDs and Pwds on both ISP router and WAG120N and i was getting seamless net..
Now yesterday we removed the ISP modem to do some shifting.. Upon reconnecting, the ISP modem, Dlink work as before, but the WAG120N refuses to connect to the net.. it shows DSL down and doesn't access the www.
What I felt is that since i changed LAN ports on my ISP device and dlink, the static IP settings on the WAG120N should be changed.. i modified it, set to to point to the dlink for internet and huwavie for DHCP.. yet nothings happening..
I even connected the WAG120N directly to the Huwavie, yet it fails to connect to the net..

Mar 27, 2011Ive got a virtualised firewall running 3 security contexts in routed mode. What am experiencing is that i cannot connect to an OUTSIDE host through the security contexts. From the firewall itself i cannot ping the directly attached host on the OUTSIDE interface but i can ping the directly attached host on the INSIDE interface. When i reload the firewall box, the first ping to the OUTSIDE host would be successful but subsequent pings fail and thus total connectivity is lost.
I even tried upgrading to ASA version 8.4(1) but still the same.

If I ping the Virtuual server ip address I get a reply but it I try to access VIP via telnet or web browser. I get a connection could not be open error on the client.The question is how do i determine where the error is comming from so far I can not tell if the client is getting through the acl or not.I have used the trouble shooting guide and nothing has worked to determine the cause so far. show service-policy int479 detail does not show an increase in the hit count when I try to connect.show stats conn does not show an increase in failed or timed out connections when i try to connect. Apr 18, 2012I've got the power cut while PC was running (w7). After rebooting I'm not able to connect to the internet anymore.
In Device Manager, under Network Adapters there is a "Realtek PCIe GBE..." device properly installed. But under Other Devices there are now more entries with exclamation mark:
- Network controller
- Multimedia controller
- PCI Communication controller
etc
I tried updating the drivers, then deleting and reinstalling but no success so far. Still can't connect to the internet. The browser can see the router, at 192.168.1.1 I don't know where the problem is.

Jan 9, 2013I have an issue with the Cisco SG200-50p and almost all of the POE ports on the switch.
We had an issue with the UPS in the server rack yesterday where the UPS failed and turned off all power to the equipment in the rack. It is possible that something was blown in the UPS itself. I was able to reroute power to all devices but the only one that seems to have an issue is the SG200-50p switch. After the power was restored the unit refuses to acknowledge all the IP phones plugged into the POE ports. Running a copper test via the web interface on the majority of the POE ports are listed as Operational Status: Down.
I have tested the affected ports with Laptops, other switches, and simple loop test to verify that the port operational status after a coper test goes back to 'Up' when any of these devices are connected to the those ports. However it fails to recognize when one of the IP phones are connected at all. There are not even any lights on the device for those ports and the status is listed as 'Down' when I plug in any of the IP phones. The IP phone is a Linksys IP Phone SPA922. I know the phones are good because when I connect them through another POE switch they come on and function properly.

Normally, all is fine, but for some reason I can't connect to the internet on windows 7, but I can on my Mac OS on the same computer. I ran troubleshoot, but it says it can't find any problems. I was connecting to my home network yesterday, but I couldn't get on the internet, however now I'm just stuck connecting to "Identifying...". Dec 15, 2011We've (an independent school) just bought an SR520 with a view to replacing one of our Draytek 2820s. We need to set up some site-to-site VPN with NAT and the Drayteks won't do it.
I've been trying to configure the SR520 in just the most basic fashion using CCA (3.1) and the CLI but with no success. I can't get a PPP connection with our ISP.
I've tried following the instructions in the software config pdf and also tried replicating the various 'running configs' reported in other posts in this forum to allow connection to a UK ISP, with no success. I don't know how many times I've reset the poor thing to factory defaults.
I have to say that I'm dismayed at how flaky the CCA appears to be. Many of the things I've tried with it simply don't work and often end up in it hanging. Close to useless in my view.
So instead I've tried to use the CLI which seems a lot more solid but is somewhat impenetrable and there's precious little by way of supporting explanation.

This phone works at wayport wifi, so I assume it's a compatibility problem with the router. Is there a fix? (Router works great with our Acer and Kindle tablets though.)

I'm currently using a small 8 port switch, There are usually 3 or 4 users connected on it. When I try connecting the WAP321 on another switch, only connected to 1 computer, it seems to be working : I can access the configuration page, and make some modifications.

Aug 10, 2012I have had a wag320n for a while and ever since I bought it, The wireless stops functioning after a day or 2, if I save the settings and then restore the settings (even after it has stopped working) then it works again for a day or to then I have to repeat the process.While it was annoying most of my PC's were wired so it wasn't a major issue but in my new place I am mostly wireless so I am well over it already.

Whenever I try to connect with one of these user accounts (I'm testing this out for now), the attempt is unsuccessful and I see an "AAA Authentication Failure for UserName: xxxxxxx User Type: WLAN USER" in the Trap Log. I thought that after trying to authenticate through a RADIUS server, the local user database would be polled and then a user account in that database would be able to authenticate.

Jan 19, 2012I have been attempting to set up a linksys wireless-n e1200 router on my hp p6-2007c (Windows 7 SP1, 64-bit) desktop pc for the last day and have exhausted everything i can think of. The previous router was a linksys WRT54G and it worked fine. However, upon setting up this new router i get a "no internet access" message accompanied by the little yellow triangle and the ability to still connect to my router via its ip address to alter its configuration. The connection status for the network and the internet is identical for all the laptops in my house. I originally attempted setting up the router using Cisco's setup program. At its conclusion, the setup program informs me that i am connected to the router, but my internet connection has been lost (even though it was never there) I have tried starting over from scratch by resetting the router back to its default settings and using a variety of different channels (Auto, 1, 6, and 11), frequencies, etc. I have uninstalled norton antivirus, disarmed the windows security programs, made sure of TCP/IP settings, rolled back, uninstalled, and finally updated firmware, uninstalled/reinstalled driver for wireless card, disabled/enabled the card itself, deleted all other previous network profiles still present in the "Manage Wireless Networks" screen, and probably some other suggestions i came across in this forum. They all failed with the same results, i.e. the ability to connect to the network locally and having no internet access.

Mar 25, 2012I'm having the following issue with a couple of 1231's.
Some overall config info first:
This is a small office with 2x Catalyst 2950 (24-port, no PoE) switches and 4 AP1231G (autonomous). The APs get PoE from a PWRINJ3 each. The injectors are powered by the AP power supplies. Injectors and power supplies are mounted in the patch closet.
The 2 switches are connected together over 4 ports (20-23 on each switch), these ports are set to 1Q Trunk mode.
The APs are connected to the switches, 2 to each switch, on port 1-2. These ports again are configured as 1Q Trunk.
APs are connected to the switch as follows:
[switch] <- patch cable-> [injector] <- patch cable -> [patch panel] <- static cabling -> [outlet] <- patch cable -> [AP]
All this has been working without problems for a number of years.
A few weeks back, AP2 did not restart after a power cut (everything else did). All LEDs are off, port on switch has no LEDs lit. I did not get around to investigating this furtehr until last week. I unmounted (failed) AP2, took it to the spot where (working) AP3 hangs, and plugged it to the cable of AP3. AP2 came to life immediately. I unplugged it and plugged AP3 back in, which restarted immediately.
So I suspect a power supply issue on AP2. I took the injector and power supply that fed AP2 out of the patch closet. When connecting AP2 directly to the power supply, it came to life immediately. So I figure the injector is defective.
On the same day, I notice AP4 is also dead (again all LEDs off, no idea how long, could have been that day or could have been a few days - it has definitely been working after the power cut that appeared to have killed AP2).
So I order 2 new PWRINJ3s and for good measure 2 new power supplies. Later that day, I took the injector and power supply that fed AP4 out of the patch closet. When I try this combination (AP4, injector4 and P/S4), and connect it to a different wall outlet (and therefore a different port -16 - on the switch) IT WORKS! Should have triggered questions, but did not immediately.
Last Thursday I got the new injectors and power supplies. So I take one of each, hook them upto AP2 at my desk, and AP2 starts up. So I mount new injector2 and new P/S2 in the patch closet, put AP2 back in its place, connect all the cables - NOTHING. AP2 does not start. The "power" LED on the injecvtor lights up green, the "device status" LED remains off. I take AP2, new injector2 and new P/S2 to my desk, hook them upto a wall outlet (connected to switch port 17). AP2 starts immediately.
Meanwhile AP3 has (also) stopped working (no LEDs on at all). As far as I can tell, it stopped working after I briefly disconnected (and reconnected) the patch cable between injector3 and the patch panel in the patch closet. The LEDs on switch port 1 are off.
I have since tried to power cycle both switches (took power off both, waited a while, poewerd both back on). No change.
PS: the APs ran firmware 12.3(8)-JA until recently. AP1, AP3 and AP4 were upgraded to 12.3(8)-JEE after the the power cut that took AP2 out. THis is when I found out AP2 was dead. AP2 was still on 12.3(8)-JA. It was upgraded to 12.3(8)-JEE last week when it was on direct power on my desk.
