View 2 Replies View RelatedWe are starting to greatly increase our access point density throughout our floors and I am wondering if we are using the correct channel assignments. We are using LAP 1140's and 3500's. We have some locations that have have anywhere from 4 to 9 floors in one location. These are consecutive floors that have 8 to 11 APs per floor. There are also other businesses in these buildings that use wireless as well. We use 802.11a/n and 802.11b/g/n. Right now the channels are set to the default, (36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, 64, 149, 153, 157, 161 for 802.11a) and (1, 6, 11 for 802.11b/g/n). I was wondering that since we are increasing our density whether we should enable other 802.11b/g/n channels outside of 1,6,11. I know the other channels can overlap but with correct placement I am wondering if it would improve our wireless coverage since we wouldn't have 8 to 11 APs fighting for only 3 channels. Any experience with enabling other 802.11b/g/n channels?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to install a wireless bridge on my network. It is a Linksys WET54G v3 wireless bridge. I follow the instructions to configure the bridge: attach the antenna, plug the Ethernet cable into the bridge, plug the other end of the cable into the RJ-45 port of the hub (a Linksys WRT300N router), plug the power supply, insert the setup disk, and run the setup program. After following the steps, it came back and said it could not find a wireless bridge on my network. I tried just plugging the wireless bridge directly into the PC (as it was one of the alternatives in the instruction) Ethernet port. I got the same message. The set up on my wireless router is as follows, DSL modem connects into wireless router, and wireless router connects to PC Ethernet port. I am thinking, connecting the wireless bridge to one of the ports on the wireless router wouldn’t necessary allow the PC to know it is there, would it? Could it be that I don’t have a network? Does a wireless router form a hub?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought an LG Bluray DVD player (BD390) which is unable to find the access point in my home network.My router is a WRT54G, ver. 2.2, running firmware: Ver.4.21.1. My home network uses high speed cable with two computers on the wireless network, all working with no problems.The router is on the second floor but the two computers and the new BD390 are on the first floor - about 35 feet away. I have the wirelss security set to none and use only the specific computer MAC addresses to allow connection to this network.
I found directions in the forum for a setup using the LG BD390 but with a different Linksys router. I changed the security to WPA (AES); the Beacon interval from 100 to 75; the Fragmentation Threshold from 2346 to 2304; and the RTS Threshold from 2347 to 2307. The DVD wireless connection still failed to find my network. There is a "Push button" connection feature on the BD390 setup which I tried, but the only "button" on the router I could find was in the basic wireless setting, a green icon for the wireless SSID setup. No connection was made there either.
The recommendation connection from the LG manual is for a network cable, but that would be over 50 feet and a real pain to connect, so I would prefer WiFi.
I had to reset my access point but the login screen fails to appear to lock the router. I don't have the setup wizard disk.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a AP WAP54G. I've managed to get into the configuration page and rename my router and set a WPA2-Personl password.
The issue I'm facing is that when me and my roomate try to connect to the router at the same time, it shows the laptop that connects second as one that has 'limited connectivity' and hence cannot use the internet. The 1st laptop however works fine!
The settings for the router have all been left to default.
I'm not sure, but does this problem have anything to do with the fact that the router in configured with a static IP. If so, then there is another issure which is that whenever I try to change it from static to automatic/dynamic IP, the page fails and the router doesn't even get connected to the configuraion page(192.168.1.245) after that. The only way to get that page again is the reset the router.
Also I'm not able to directly get into the config page when I connect my router to my laptop via lan. I need to change the LAN IP to 192.168.1.x where x is >1.
What I want to do is the opposite of most configurations. I live on a small island with only one DSL connection. The modem is wired connected to a WAP54G Access point. To extend this access point want to use a WRT54G.

My wireless security mode is disabled, network mode is set to mixed, SSID is the same as on the DS/DSi, Channel width is 20Mhz only, Standard channel is set to 6, but I tried using channel 1 and 11 without success, SSID broadcast is enabled.
I've tried every work-about I could find and always get the 51300 error code, and am at a loss as to what else I can try to get the devices to connect to the access point.
Is it possible to configure WRT120n as an access point?

I have a linksys wet54g bridge which is configured on my wireless net work, it is connected to the hr20 via Ethernet. I manually set the ip,subnet, gateway and the dns. when I try to connect the receiver everything comes up okay, network says network connected, but no internet. I am receiving error message 22. I noticed no lights blinking on the bridge or the wtg54g router.I did a receiver reboot, and and hooked a lap top to the wet54 via the ethernet port, same hook up as the hr20 with the same results, very good strong signal to the network, but unable to access the internet. I set up the wet54g again using the ip address the router assigned 192.168.1.226, the subnet mask at 255 255 255 0, and the gateway and dns at 192.168.1.254. Which all are all the same as the other computers in the network. Still no success connecting to net.

-How reliable will be the use of 1252 ap in bridge mode?

Currently, I have an e4200 primary router that is cascaded with two additional e1500 routers that have been configured as access points. The Linksys support team hosted my computer and configured the devices. The e1500 routers are connected via ethernet wires running through the walls. And, this seems to be working well. Here's my question. The e1500 routers are configured with different SSID names, which Linksys advised was required to avoid conflicts in communications from the three router devices. Is there any way to configure this set up or something similar so that the entire wireless network has the same SSID and is seamless. In the current configuration, I have to specifically connect to the primary router or one of the two access points.

I was happy about the guest-access feature of E3000 when using the comcast, where I can directly connect my e3000 to the modem (basically you can see two network, one is XXX, the other is XXX-guest). However, the ATT uverse has a gateway that combines the modem and router together, in order to use my e3000 instead of the built-in router of the gateway, I have done a LAN-to-LAN connection and I can access internet without any problem. But in this case, I can not enable my guest-access feature. When I use Cisco Connect to set up e3000, it says "cannot connect to your router". how to set up the guess-access feature of e3000 when using ATT uverse.
