I set up my new WAG320N yesterday. I have no problems connecting with my notebook running windows 7 or my IPad. My Mac Mini running Mac OS x version 10.6.6 simply won't connect.
View 1 RepliesMy hp mini will not connect to the internet, even with a cable directly from the modem. We downloaded a bunch of games from the internet, and then in removing the junk, may have deleted vital components. My device manager has "other devices" and under that has "ethernet controller" and "network controller," neither of which has a driver. Windows was unable to find a driver when I tried to reinstall the driver (although I'm not sure whether there should be one - the icon next to everything in this category is a yellow question mark). I thought the problem was just a wireless issue until this morning, when I hooked it up with a cable to try to find a wireless driver. It does not connect with the cable either, and now I am really lost.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a DIR-655 Version B running the stock 2.0 firmware and a Motorola SB6120 cable modem and my ISP is comcast. I have had comcast come out and test my line and everything is fine. I have a desktop directly wired to the internet and several portable devices accessing the router.I cannot connect to the internet. My network is available and none of my devices ever indicate the network isn't available. When I try to load a website it just says "waiting for reply..." and nothing happens. The solution that always works is rebooting both the modem and the router. What is odd is that this problem comes and goes, I will go a week with zero issues, then I go all week with rebooting my stuff 5-8 times a day..What have I tried? I tried the settings that are recommended by Furrynuts to users complaining. I have also tried changing the wireless band settings to different channels as well.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI happened to update firmware version of my WAG54G2 to the latest version 1.xx.xx.19. Since then connection to internet has became erratic. If rebooted, the device mostly doesn't connect. Switching to PPPoE from PPPoA and vice versa works but i have to do it every time the device is rebooted. Sometimes even that doesn't work. Basically it acts random. DSL connection shows as connected, but the internet interface is mostly down. I was wondering if i can switch back to to old 1.xx.xx.10 version. It never gave me any trouble ever for around 2 years.

When PS3 is connected via WIFI to X3000, TMS is not visible in PS3. When PS3 is connected via network cable to X3000, TMS is visible and working as hell. No static IP's, whole network based on DHCP. UPnP is ON.Problem mentioned on that different forum was solved by firmware update. Can I expect firmware update also here?
Comparing my brand new linksys x3000 (Firmware Version:v1.0.03) with my old zyxel p660hw I see that the linksys is running a downstream noise margin of 8.2dB while the old zyxel is running a downstream noise margin of 15dB. Needless to say, I am very disappointed. why the linksys value should be so much lower?Â
View 5 Replies View RelatedI made the change WAG120G (GREAT) for WAG120N (**bleep**) and I confess that I was somewhat disappointed, the quality of the company fell dramatically. Unlike its predecessor this modem / router is bad in many ways and first of them is support for Macintosh products, the connection drops constantly and have to get on and off the wifi to work. The modem restarts and constantly drops the connection status and its predecessor NEVER did that. iPad, iPhone and Macbook can not even keep me surfing for more than one hour, the connection just stops working. Even the cable connection, my Xbox sometimes worth it to maintain a stable connection in Live. The modem has been updated with the latest firmware version (1.0.0.16). This one in particular became of interest to me because I couldn't set up SSH on it or enable any QoS features on it, so I did some research. What I found was there are basically 2 versions of the IOS, c2950-i6q4l2 or c2950-i6k2l2q4. I also read that the c2950-i6q4l2 IOS versions (like the one in the switch I am referring to) have both the SI and EI feature sets integrated, but the one that gets enabled is entirely dependent upon the switch model you are running it on. Did I understand this correctly? Does the IOS check the hardware on the switch and then decide with feature set to use? If so, what is prohibiting the EI feature set from being enabled on this switch? Is there a way to force the EI feature set to be enabled since it is integrated in this image?

using a Cisco 5508 controller (code version 7.4.100.0) with an ACS appliance running version 4.1 or 4.2?I've found that the ACS constantly reports a 'Bad request from NAS' (Invalid message authenticator in EAP request). message. This usually indicates a mismatched shared secret but this isn't the case.The controller works fine opposite a Microsoft NPS Radius Server.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an ASA 5510 running ASDM 6.4(9) and Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Software Version 8.4(4)1.I am trying to configure for the first time and I am accessing the ASA via its Management Interface.I am successfully able to connect to the device and get to the Cisco ASDM 6.4(9) page.When I try to run the startup wizard, a couple of prompts displays up to the point where the java applet runs and aks me to enter my IP, username and password.As it is a new system, password and username is blank so I enter and I get a message saying "loading software from cache" which later changes to "software Update completed" and then nothing happens.I am running MacOSX 10.7 Lion, Java version 1.6.0_33.I did try and run this on a Windows system and i was able to load the interface.

Currently, I can connect to the wireless network, however I cannot access the internet, but I am able to access the internet with an Ethernet cable in the same router. This is a fairly recent development as we have used this router for wireless internet access (our modem has a wireless network built into it, but it is unreliable) for upwards of 8 months now without problem. One day it simple restored itself to the default name and we were no longer able to access the internet through the wireless portion.

I am looking to upgrade my home wifi from a Linksys WRT54G running DD-WRT to something that will handle .11n. I've been looking at the Unifi PoE APs. Their base model support N, but only on 2.4GHz, and only has a 100Mb port. I was concerned about that being a limiting factor. They've recently released a new line that supports Dual Band and has a Gig port, but it cost about 4 times as much. Here are my goals:
1.) PoE if possible. Currently the AP is my rack in the basement. I'l thinking of running an additional cable to somewhere central on the first floor and putting the AP there for better coverage/signal. Running just a CAT 5e cable is much easier than having to supply power as well. Second thought was to get two Unifi APs and setup a mesh with roaming, which it looks like they support, for best coverage. In that case I'd put one in a top floor room that already has CAT 5e.
2.) I'd really prefer access points to a router. I already have a pfsense box that does the routing. If this means getting something that will run DD-WRT, Tomato, or the like and turning it into an AP fine.
3.) I would like something that is dual band .11n.
4.) Something that support RADIUS
5.) Multiple SSID support and VLAN support. I want to be able to offer at least 2 separate networks.
So am I stuck buying the Unifi dual band AP? Or should I get something like the Asus RT-N66U and put Tomato on it?Does anyone have acutal expreience with the Unifi products?
On cyber monday of 2010 i purchased this sony mini it was working fine with the dsl ./..then 2 weeks ago i switched from dsl to fiberoptic verizon fios that is...my other 2 laptops are connecting fine...but not this one ...it does not ask for the wep key/...so it wont connect....but if i use a ithernet cable... is asking for the wep key and boommmm ok....no problem ,then i unplug the cable and with in 2 minutes a disclamation point appair on the connection signal...i called both the internet provider and sony and of course they point fingers on eachother....techsupport from sony changed the wireless router key(password)....they told my thah is not compatible...with window.

On the inside are DHCP systems. On the outside is my server. I cannot seem to get the inside machines to recognize my file shares outside the dlink. The outside server is a MAC mini. Any machine outside the server can see the file shares (regardless if they are a Mac or a Windows PC - So I know that SMB is set-up properly).How can I get the inside servers to see the file shares on the outside machine?

We've had a lot of failures in the past due to multiple reasons, electrical noise, surge, etc so we decided to change to Cat.6 SFTP. The problem is that now , even with proper termination of the shielding at either one or both ends, the noise is so bad that packet loss is above 90%.
