I had to reload my wireless after having problems with internet connection......now it tells me that there is no connection found. I have a 2008 Linksys. I have tried everything from unplugging to reseting and dowloading the program again.
View 2 RepliesI recently had to unplug my Linksys WRT54GL wireless router when doing some rearranging and now i'm unable to get a internet connection. I've confirmed the modem is actually working by connecting my laptop directly (which worked), but when I connect the Linksys WRT54GL wireless router to my modem the internet connection goes away. The connection is lost when connected via wireless and hardwired to one of the back ports. I've tried resetting the modem, router and computer and read every forum out there trying to find something, but i'm still stuck.

I will be playing an online game but get disconnected from the server every 6-8 seconds. I tested if it could be my internet provider, but when I connect via Ethernet cord to my modem, it works great. If I run the Ethernet through my router or try wireless connections, it tends to go in and out. It only seems to do this some of the times.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a WRT310N router and suddenly it stopped connecting to the Internet. I can't ping anything from the router page. I tried restarting it a few times, unplugged it, left it off for a few minutes, plugged it back in, upgraded the firmware, still not working. I tried another router and it works fine. When connected directly to the modem, it works fine, so the problem has to come from the router.
I can connect to the router through wired or wireless just fine, I just can't access the internet.
I have my e4200 connected to another modem/router (2Wire 3600HGV), because the other router does not support Wireless N. I can connect to my E4200 network, but there's just no connection to the internet. I reseted my e4200 but still no luck. I've unplugged both routers and replugged them, nothing. I know it's possible because I've had it set up before but I had my 2Wire exchanged for a newer one.

Just to be sure. I have the cable going from my modem out of port #1 and into my e4200 where it says internet, thats correct, right? On my e4200 i have the IP 192.168.1.2 but on the 2Wire I have the e4200 as 1.92.168.1.66.
I have 1 Windows XP PC, and 2 Windows 7 laptops. And I'm also going to connect a new TV to Internet.I have the router WRT54GX2 version 1.sometimes the XP PC has a good internet connection, but on the Windows 7 laptop, I don't have the internet connection. And if I look at the list of the Wireless Network connections, I don't see mine!So can I do something on the router to fix this problem? Or should I buy a new router which can work well with 3 PCs (with Windows 7) and 1 TV connected at the same time?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a E1500 hooked to a Galaxy Broadband/Hughes Satellite internet system. From the router I have gone to a EZXS55W ver. 4 switch. Off of the switch I have 2 computers and a PoS machine. The satellite system gives us a dynamic IP. I am noticing that my connection from computer to computer and also from them and the POS machine to the internet is constantly switching on and off, it seems. Any ideas what could be causing this issue?? We just recently went from a Static IP to the Dynamic IP. We did not have this issue with the Static IP and wondering if there are some settings I have neglected.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought the ea6500 router to upgrade from my last one. For the first few weeks, it worked ok though the wireless range often became unreliable if doors were shut. The biggest problem I'm having right now is that the internet has completely stopped working - both wired and wireless. I have hooked my laptop directly into my modem, and it has a good internet connection. However, when I plug my laptop into the router, I get no internet connection at all, and it is not currently producing a Wi-Fi signal at all. Instead, the power light keeps blinking rapidly. I have tried rebooting the modem and router several times and still no internet. Just the same blinking light. I can't even log into the smart wifi page to check the status of the router. My computer tells me there is no IP address for the router.

View 4 Replies View Relatedspecs: linksys router wrt160n v3, verizon modem gt701c, windows xp service pack 3, verizon DSL, southern california.I have been able to connect to the internet directly through the modem only...but i need my wireless back working. I've reset my router a few times recently trying things i've read on forums from people with similar problems. The most recent thing i did was RESET the router -> connected modem/router/computer properly -> turned them all back on in the proper order -> check to see if websites would open. They didn't so i tried doing this, which was suggested...i plugged the router into the computer and enabled MAC address and then pressed the Clone MAC address button and saved....then I tturned everything off again and rebooted everything again in the proper order and still couldn't load any web pages. My modem and wireless were working fine for years...and then recently without me doing anything my modem kept dropping connection and the internet and dsl lights kept flashing and then going back solid....so i'd be connected for a few minutes and then they'd start flashing again over and over all the time. I finally called verizon and then had me fiddle around with stuff...followed all their directions...but ended up only being able to connect while directly connected to the modem. Even then, the modem was still losing connection and getting it back. (i was supposed to schedule a house call for a tech to check it out, never did) Over a couple weeks the connection ended up getting better on its own, so now it pretty much never drops out anymore. (almost) i've reset my modem, i've reset my router....i just still cant seem to get websites working with my modem and wireless router connected.
2 routers (only one in use at a time!):
(A) Linksys BEFSR41 v3.1 Etherfast Cable/DSL Router w/ 4-Port Switch
(B) Linksys WRT54GL v1.1 Wireless-G Broadband Router w/ 4-Port Switch
Both routers are set to provide DHCP.DSL modem: Verizon Westell Wirespeed B90-210015-04 I have no idea whether this modem is also a router, but everything used to work. OS: Windows 7 Professional N x64, SP1 My computer has two ethernet ports, but only one is in use at a time. I also have VMWare Workstation installed, so there are a couple virtual adapters in the mix, but VMWare is not running during any of these tests.Yesterday (Sat, 10-Mar-2012) I replaced my old router (A) with the new one (B). The A router has been working fine for many years; I just needed wireless access. After the initial setup, the B router worked fine, using hard lines connected to the switch ports, and the wireless access features (laptop and Android phone) - for about a day. It suddenly dropped the internet connection early this afternoon, Sun, 11-Mar-2012, ~1220hrs PDT. I heard it go out because I was streaming NPR at the time.Using the B router, my desktop computer (connected via a wire) can still talk to my laptop (wireless), but neither of them can see the internet.When I swap back to the A router (wires only), it now has no internet connection either! But the desktop and the laptop (both wired) can still see each other via the (wired) router.When I remove the router from the network and connect the DSL modem directly to my desktop computer, I have internet access; it works fine! But not if a router is in the circuit.
(1) Router B seems to work because my wired desktop and my wireless laptop can communicate locally.
(2) Router A still works because my desktop and laptop can communicate with each other using a wired network hosted by the A router.
(3) The DSL modem seems to work because my desktop has internet access when connected directly to the modem.
(4) Neither of the routers can communicate with the internet through the DSL modem.
I spent an hour in a chat with Verizon tech support. I've power-cycled everything. I've reset both routers to default specs and reconfigured them. I've reset the DSL modem via its button. I've used different cables. It appears that neither of the routers can successfully communicate through the DSL modem to the internet. But they both used to. Why would it just suddenly stop connecting through the modem?

Currently running Windows 7, with internet explorer. I have most recent firmware installed on my e2500. The unit drops wireless connectivity on an intermittent basis. Sometimes after 5 minutes and sometimes after 20 or 30 minutes.

Basically, I see that I'm connected to the router, but have a self-assigned IP. Power cycling the router does the trick. I never had this problem before, so I'm wondering what's up. The firmware has long been up to date. Router version is 8.0.

Suddenly for no reason it started dropping. Noticed it first when online gaming on my PS3. Checked laptop and all wireless devices down. Takes about 30 seconds.

I'd been previously using an ethernet cable to connect to an outlet which is also the cable connection for my television. I followed the instructions from the CD included, and I was able to successfully connect to the router, but it "cannot determine if I am connected to the internet." I added the device and MAC address to my wifi service account, and still no luck. I've tried connecting the old ethernet cable from the outlet I've been using to the router in one of the ethernet slots, with the provided ethernet cable being connected to my laptop and the 'internet' slot on the router. No internet connection. The recommendation is to "unplug the power cord from the DSL modem." I unplugged the power cord, waited, plugged it back in. Still nothing.

The problem is thus: if the first computer is actively using the internet (even activities as mundane as browsing one's email) the computer connected wirelessly will lose its connection to the internet yet maintain its connection to the router. Both can be actively using the internet, but the wireless will seemingly at random drop internet access (usually in 30-120 minute intervals).
The computer connected via the ethernet cable was unplugged for a week and during that time the wirelessly connected computer was used extensively and did not lose connection once.
I don't understand how to even frame this problem in a concise manner, much less seek information as to how to resolve it. It's seemingly giving all priority to the computer connected via ethernet but I that's just intution speaking.
Unable to connect to internet via laptop + desktop to wireless Linksys router. Model=WRT300N.
Connection worked fine on my laptop before, however, stopped working approx 3 days ago.In attempt to resolve connection issue, I de-install linksys software from my desktop, now I cannot execute setup due to the fact that I cannot connect to the internet.
We've moved apartments in the same building that provides LAN internet. But in the new apartment the internet is working fine when I plug it in the computer directly, but when I plug it in the router (E1200) it says there's no Internet connection. No WIRED internet and No WIRELESS Internet. I don't get it. The same router I took it back to our original apartment and works fine when I hook up the same ethernet cable to the LAN.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a E4200 V1 with firmware 1.0.0.5 installed The problem is that when I connect the cable from my modem to my router and recycle both I get a rapidly fashing Cisco light and can not connect to the internet.If I remove that cable and recycle the router my network works but (obviously) I have no internet connectivity.This was working (almost 2 years) without issue until today.I updated the firmware and did a factory reset and neither resolved the issue.My next experiment is to see if I can't get log files (since the factory reset) but I can't do that at this time.

However, since that change, I've noticed that the wireless devices, 2-laptops, are intermittently loosing their connections. . View 1 Replies View RelatedI’ve bought a router, and a wireless antenna for my laptop, since I have a high-speed internet outlet in the living room, but I use my laptop in the kitchen (I don’t have any other pc). So I’ve configured my Linksys WRT120N router in the living room, unplugged the ethernet cable from my laptop, plugged the wireless antenna in the kitchen, and everything was working fine with the wireless network. After about one month I was not able anymore to enter my network with the security key, there was actually no prompt for the security key, just a message “Cannot connect to the network”. I then had to reconfigure the router, going to the router IP address (I used the default settings, a blank for username, and “admin” as a password, as per instructions), use another network name, security key and password, and was able to start again a wireless network with the wireless antenna as before. This problem represented other 3 times (in the last 3 months), and was working fine, but now I cannot reconfigure the router anymore, since the IP address doesn’t accept BLANK/ADMIN anymore, and if I go ahead and reconfigure the router a message says I have to use the default settings in the IP address…

It's not the modem, because if I connect my desktop directly to the modem, it connects fine (which is how I'm typing this now), but if I plug in the router, my desktop and my laptop (wireless) will show they're connected to the network, but that there is no internet connection available. Support won't troubleshoot because I've had my router 1 year and 10 days (which I think is a crock of **bleep**) and the "Guide Me" thing is just running me around in circles. I'm so pissed off I'm about to throw the router through a window and buy another (*NON*-Linksys) router, rather than pay $30 for one time tech support (which, with my luck, the same thing would happen again in 3 months, and the same directions wouldn't work then). View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been using my Linksys WRT54GC for couple years now, and only recently have I started to have significant issues with the device. I'm using a 2012 Macbook Pro, and my internet connection seems to be randomly dropping every now and then. Sometimes it works just fine for couple of hours only dropping once or so, sometimes it starts dropping literally every few seconds. What I usually do is quickly restart my wifi and the connection comes back right away. I also tried not doing that, and the internet connection tends to come back up after a minute or so.
I have read countless topics, also tried many things: changing MTU, the thresholds in router settings, security modes (it seemed to have worked fine after I changed it to WPA, not anymore though. I'm using no password now and it doesn't fix the problem either), changing the channel (my strongest signals around are on channel 1 and 11, thus I left mine on 6), I even reset the router today (held the reset button for 10 seconds~) but it didn't work either. I didn't upgrade the software since I heard stories about the software available on this site being corrupted or something, bricking the router, which is the last thing I'd want (I'm running on 1.00.7 now).
I have the impression (but it's just an impression, it might as well not be the case, and just me trying to find out when it happens, since it's not always that it breaks the connection while doing that) that it breaks the connection on high load, I mean when I'm for example using skype and facebook, and then try to go on reddit at the same time - the reddit webpage won't load, and the connection is lost after few seconds. But it also started dropping every few seconds while I was playing an online game and skyping at the same time today, which isn't a particularly huge problem for a 23Mbps download and 1.5 upload speed internet I suppose, and which it never did before. I have never had such issues with my PC using a Linksys USB adapter. The connection would drop from time to time when, for example, accidentally going on pages with lots of thumbnail pictures, or trying to load 15 tabs of jpgs at the same time, it was never that much of a problem really though, I just thought it's normal.
