Is it true that if someone wants to connect to the Guest network and macfiltering is on this is not possible. Which makes the guest network basicly useless.

Problem is, that I would also like to enable a guest network so my small business's clients could still connect to the wifi, without having access to out home PC (and drinking our bandwidth).

I switched from Time Capsule with AirPort to E2000 and have a problem with configuration.I use the same IPs as in AirPort and E2000 gives me an error:"The WAN IP address cannot be the same subnet as the Guest Network IP address" and I can't save configuration.But in my opinion they are different.I use "Static IP" option and I have IPs from my ISP: [code] So WAN IP is different subnet as LAN and I don't know what to do now. It worked with these settings in AirPort and here I can't proceed.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI tried to extend the Range of the Guest WLAN of the E2000 with several different Access Points vom TP-Link. (Last try: TL-WA901D) The Access Point recognises the WLAN and sometimes it has a connection for a short time. But then the whole WLAN is breaking down, sometimes the Router E200 hangs up, also with the LAN connections. The E200 is connected to a sky-DSL Router and works fine when no additional access point is connected. In the web-Interface of the E2000 I cant setup any specific Guest-WLAN settings.

Is this feature available? Another thing, I read the manual and it is indicated that only up to 10 maximum guest acccounts is allowed. I am looking for more than 10 - kinda like a hotspot software.
I've been looking everywhere. I've seen hotspot system, ddwrt, chillspot, etc. But it's complicated as firmware needed to be flashed.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have been unable to connect our PSPs to the new E2000, and after several hours we're ready to throw in the towel and go get a different router!The PSPs only see the "guest" connection when using the scan option, but cannot connect to it. Even after manually adding both the main and the guest info we are STILL unable to connect either of the PSPs We had an older router from your company which we had no issues connecting 6 desktops, a lappy, 2 psp, 2 ds, 2 xbox 360, and a Wii, as well as our smart phones. After this recent "upgrade" to the E2000 the PSPs CANNOT connect no matter what we do. It gives many different error messages.

When the documentation says that there is a maximum of 10 guest network users allowed (with a default setting of 5) what exactly does that mean ? I don't want the first 10 guest-clients who come in, connect to the guest network, then leave the office to consume all 10 slots for the day.If I have 50 people that come and go from the office throughout the day who connect to the guest 192.168.33.X network and attempt to enter the password (but no more than 10 guests authenticated at any given time) will all 50 be successful in connecting ? Or do I have to reduce the Client Lease Time to something less than the default setting of one day ?

Nothing to do with Revision, cordless phones,I saw this asked once before specifically here, but it was never answered.After several attacks via our cable network and neighbors, we've HAD to turn on MAC filtering. There are TONS of devices attached normally so two situations popped up:
#1: What happens when you max out the authorized MAC address listings? Does the page get longer when you save/reboot it? Do I have to do it manually from there forward and where can I get down to the core programming level to edit the code and put the MAC's that are around and on 100% of the time to open up the plug-in list on the GUI?
#2: Guest Zone - we NEED a way to have random guests get on our Network with a different password we can randomly change to prevent the outside abuse, etc. but am I understanding what little else has been posted that the MAC filtering also covers the Guest Zone and therefore I have to stick them in there before they could simply log on with the current password? Is there any way to change/stop that without eliminating MAC filtration as a whole?

Problem I am running into is that the NAT error ends up showing on at least two of the xboxs. Before I added the extra two xboxs for my boys, I didn't have any issues. Had to move stuff around and unplugged stuff now I am having problems. Current connection setup is modem> router> switch. Xbox 1 is wired to switch, NAT type is open. Xbox 2 wireless to router, NAT type is Strict. Xbox 3 wired to switch, NAT type moderate. Xbox 4 wireless to router, NAT type is strict. How do I set up the network and not have NAT errors on the Xboxs. I'm not to overly worried about Xbox 4, currently due that user not having a Xbox Live account.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys E2000 router. I am trying to install an Epson NX230 printer on my home network. Apparently, the Epson printer has a MAC address assigned to it. My network cannot find the printer. I looked at my riuter setup and the MAC Address Clone has two buttons, Enabled Disabled. The Disabled button is clicked on. Accdording to documentation I foudn on this website, it looks like I can Enabled the MAC Address clone button. The document also mentgioend entereding the MAC address for a PC.
If I enable the MAC Address Clone, do I enter the MAC address for the printer or during the install process does the MAC address get installed also
I have a Linksys E2000 router on my home network. The router has the newest version of firmware. Every once in a while, wireless clients on my network become "isolated". Here's an example of what happens. I set up a new wireless printer. I can print to the printer wirelessly from my phone, PC's, etc. all fine after setup. I'm thinking everything is cool!! Well after 2 weeks to 1 month this device will become "isolated" so I cannot print to it; it has an IP address, it can ping its gateway, but i cannot ping it from other devices on the same subnet. I know it's not the printer because if i unplug my E2000 and plug it back in, it works fine.
Another example. I have two windows 7 PC's that are on the same home group and i can share files between them. Sometimes it works and other times it doesnt. I can ping my gateway but they cannot ping each other. I would troubleshoot the issue like crazy from the host end, but the second i unplug my E2000 and plug it back in, BINGO they can talk. Something is wrong with how these routers function with hosts in inter-subnet communications.
I've got the E2000 at home for our private network.
We are three guys sharing a flat. We have personal laptops, work laptops, mobile phones, games consoles, tablets etc that connect to the internet.
Problem is that when someone downloads stuff, the speed is slow for the rest of us. So i was hoping i could set up something like three "channels" so each of us could have the same download speed, ie 1 mbs each regardless if others are using the network at the same time. And then maybe a guest network for all the mobiles and tablets etc. MAC filtering for access for our personal laptops should work.
We have a 20mbit cable network line.
Can i do all of this on the E2000 and how?
I have the wireless guest network up and running just fine. But, I need to also connect to the router's quest network via one of the ethernet ports. Can I just give the LAN-conencted PC a 192.168.3.x static IP to access the guest network? I am assuming there is no VLAN functionality...
And even better, can I set up a DHCP relationship to that port? So that any device plugged into the port will get a IP on that subnet?
Is there a way to get rid of the guest network on a E1000 or is it part of the setup.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently replaced my Linksys WRV54G with a Linksys e2000 where I stream H.264 vido in 480p from one computer connected over gigabit to my Media Center running on Windows 7 64 bit connected at 10/100.
Before the router change, I was able to playback video over the network with no problems. If I connect the Linksys WRV54G again, the issue goes away. The Linksys WRV54G does not have gigabit and I have read related issues of video stuttering over gigabit.
I cannot get the Guest Network feature to work.Even though Guest SSID is enabled, it does not show up on any devices attempting to connect. Manually connecting by entering the Guest SSID fails (not recognized). On devices with the primary 5 and 2.4 GHz configured they do see the third network but without SSID (unknown) and are also unable to connect to it manually using the SSID.I did not try this before 1.0.02. Have rebooted modem and verified all configs (multiple times). The network is live in an office and can't keep screwing with it or drastically changing its settings.

My only question is it shows two wireless connections available: The secured one I set up and the another network with the same name that says "guest" and is NOT secured. View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running a guest network on my E4200V2. I have changed my DNS servers on the router to use OpenDNS for traffic filtering. The filtering on my non-guest networks is working fine; the OpenDNS test sites are blocked. However, when I use the guest network, the OpenDNS test sites are not blocked. There's obviously nowhere that I can change the DNS settings for the guest network.
I know that parental filtering in the router applies to the guest network, however, it seems that the DNS servers for the non-guest networks don't apply to the guest network. Is this true? Have others seen this?If so, that's pretty disappointing. OpenDNS filtering is much more powerful than the 8-URL blacklist I can create in the router admin. If I want to filter sites for my kids, having a guest network that is essentially wide-open (except for 8 URLs) is not an ideal situation.
Our router is connected to my moms work computer. So on our main family computer we have a NET GEAR WG111v1 wireless adapter. When I do a scan for avaliable networks only the guest network is found. Our ipods can find the main secured connection but not the computer.
