View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an E2000 setup with the Cisco Connect Utility. I have a MAIN account and a GUEST account setup.I'm recently having a problem where I can only connect wireless through the "Guest" account. I can connect to my MAIN account, but it states that I have "Limited Access".
View 9 Replies View RelatedI tried to extend the Range of the Guest WLAN of the E2000 with several different Access Points vom TP-Link. (Last try: TL-WA901D) The Access Point recognises the WLAN and sometimes it has a connection for a short time. But then the whole WLAN is breaking down, sometimes the Router E200 hangs up, also with the LAN connections. The E200 is connected to a sky-DSL Router and works fine when no additional access point is connected. In the web-Interface of the E2000 I cant setup any specific Guest-WLAN settings.
View 1 Replies View RelatedE2000 has the guest account feature. Not sure if all guests shares the same login credentials. I would like to have guests account use seperate logins. Is this feature available? Another thing, I read the manual and it is indicated that only up to 10 maximum guest acccounts is allowed. I am looking for more than 10 - kinda like a hotspot software.
I've been looking everywhere. I've seen hotspot system, ddwrt, chillspot, etc. But it's complicated as firmware needed to be flashed.
Is it true that if someone wants to connect to the Guest network and macfiltering is on this is not possible. Which makes the guest network basicly useless.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWe have been unable to connect our PSPs to the new E2000, and after several hours we're ready to throw in the towel and go get a different router! The PSPs only see the "guest" connection when using the scan option, but cannot connect to it. Even after manually adding both the main and the guest info we are STILL unable to connect either of the PSPs We had an older router from your company which we had no issues connecting 6 desktops, a lappy, 2 psp, 2 ds, 2 xbox 360, and a Wii, as well as our smart phones. After this recent "upgrade" to the E2000 the PSPs CANNOT connect no matter what we do. It gives many different error messages.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to put an E2000 in an office where clients are coming and going throughout the day. When the documentation says that there is a maximum of 10 guest network users allowed (with a default setting of 5) what exactly does that mean ? I don't want the first 10 guest-clients who come in, connect to the guest network, then leave the office to consume all 10 slots for the day.If I have 50 people that come and go from the office throughout the day who connect to the guest 192.168.33.X network and attempt to enter the password (but no more than 10 guests authenticated at any given time) will all 50 be successful in connecting ? Or do I have to reduce the Client Lease Time to something less than the default setting of one day ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAlright, the computer I had cisco connect on crashed. I got a new computer and I'm trying to install Cisco connect using the downloaded version and I can't install it because it requests the password of the router, which i do not know. This is because I've lost the CD copy of Cisco connect. I've tried resetting the router itself by pressing the red reset button
View 5 Replies View RelatedI switched from Time Capsule with AirPort to E2000 and have a problem with configuration.I use the same IPs as in AirPort and E2000 gives me an error:"The WAN IP address cannot be the same subnet as the Guest Network IP address" and I can't save configuration. But in my opinion they are different.I use "Static IP" option and I have IPs from my ISP: [code] So WAN IP is different subnet as LAN and I don't know what to do now. It worked with these settings in AirPort and here I can't proceed.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an e2000 wireless router. I have the latest software version for the Cisco software.I have noticed that Cisco sets up the same password to access the router setup page as the wireless password..Anyone that connects to the main SSID will be able to connect to the setup page at 192.168.1.1...I know that I can change the password in the linksys setup page to whatever I want, but then when I open the Cisco software, it wants me to change the password to match what the administrator password is.Don't they realize that a wireless password is different than the Administrator password to access the router settings?

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust bought myself an Cisco E1000 today and I am having problems figuring out what the "Guest" password is, how to change it and how to possibly disable it all together?.
The Cisco CD can't access my router now claiming i changed the admin password, which I havent done at all.
But is there some way to manually get access to said password, change it and/or disable guets access all together
i enable guest access, when connecting though any device it doesn't ask for password but allows access straight away. I've tried changing the password, but no luck.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWith the E4200, is it possible to setup the main SSID with a pass pharse but have the guest SSID without a passpharse or password (ie access without security). If so, How?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used Cisco connect to set up guest access with a secure password. Cisco Connect now indicates guess access is allowed and shows the password. However, when I actually try to connect to the guest network, it shows no security at all, and I can join the network without a password.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe Cisco E1000 I just purchased provides two connections: a main connection, and one for "guest access." I've successfully disabled the need for password on the main, but the guest access still requires that I assign a password. How do I make this connection open and accessible as well?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have setup my EA3500 for guest access however when my clients connect and start their browser they are never prompted for a password to continue their session. The browser times out. I can connect to the secured network by using the wireless password and the clients work.
I have the lastest firmware. I have a host of different clients, Kindle Fire HD, RIM Playbook, Windows 7 laptop. I have turned off guest account restarted, reconfigured and nothing changes. The browser always times out and the client is never prompted for a password. I bought this router because a friend that I visit has one so that visitors can use the internet...I know hers works, I have brought my Kindle along with me and connected to her Linksys router and it prompts for a password. I liked the feature so much I bought this one.
FYI. This router was replaced under warranty, I spent two days (I'm not kidding) on the phone with Linksys support trying to get the first one to work. I rebooted, reset to default, changed settings, tweaked, used different clients all with no effect so they replaced it.
For weeks guest access to my e3000 worked fine. Today I have a friend come over, his XP connects to the guest wi-fi, but his computer does not get a prompt for a password.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy E4200 settings show both the 5.8GHZ and 2.4GHZ channels to be active, with SSID's displayed. However, when I look for available networks via my laptop(s)/tablets, etc, only the 2.8GHZ channel is visible. I've tried changing various settings and even updated the firmware but nothing has changed.
In addition my "guest" portal displays as not being password protected, even though it is setup for password protection in the E4200 menu.I've rebooted the router several times, but nothing has changed. The 5.8GHZ channel is not visible. The router is also performing frequent random disconnects, but that appears to be a separate issue, based on other posts.
I just bought a E4200, is there a way change the default text of the pop up message that is used when the client is requested to put in the password to access the guest SID for the e4200?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having getting my E1200 to work is this; I'm connected wirelessly with an N-adapter to the router, my roomate is connected directly with an Ethernet cable and to the modem. Whenever he logs ons or logs off from internet I GET DISCONNECTED! Its very frustrating. At first I kept wondering why I would get frequent Disconnects, until I matched exactly the times he would log on or log off. I've never seen this type of problem before in my previous router?

If I turn the power on the storage device and try to navigate the router it says ".....Can't establish a connection to the server at 192.168.1.1." Then I have to reboot the router to be able to log back on.
