Linksys Wireless Router :: How To Connect Two WRTU54G Together
Apr 30, 2012
I have AT&T DSL service and a WRTU54G-TM for my wireless router and T-Mobile at Home phone service. The router is in the basement and upstairs near the back of the house Internet connectivity is weak. I have a second router, identical to the first, that I am hoping can be connected to the first, perhaps as a bridge(?).
I have a Verizon supplied actiontec g band router, and would like to place a WRTU54G-TM on the other side of the house to act as a repeater or a wireless bridge (?). I want stronger wireless at that other side of the house and beyond, and use cat5 to hook up some other devices. Can I bridge the actiontec and WRTU54G-TM together, or do they have to be the same brands?
The last couple of weeks the phone line has been dropping until I unplug for about 30 seconds to reset. It is happening more frequently. The phone service through TMobile gets a dial tone and rings several times then drops when making a call.
A client is using Tmobile VOIP using the aforementioned WRTU54G-TM 2-line VOIP wireless router with 4-port hub. What they would like to do is to place this in their network and NOT have it change (route) the network addresses being assigned to devices 'behind' this router so even their wireless devices are all "on the same network" as the wired devices BEFORE this unit, In essence, preserve the same 'network and subnet mask' that is being issued by their DSL router via it's integrated DHCP server. ... Rather like operating this unit like an 'access point' instead of a router.Under most circumstances, I might try to assign this router a static IP outside the scope of the DHCP range the DSL router would supply, then plug the (gigabit) Ethernet network cable into one of the 4 Ethernet ports on the rear of this router - but apparently this does not 'facilitate' a connection to Tmobile's VOIP service. When attempting to do this, the connected telephone devices do not get a phone line connection and the status light(s) that normally indicate proper operation do not illuminate.
Is WRTU54G-TM affected by Wi-Fi Protected Setup security vulnerability? Device is not mentioned on this list: url..If yes, can it be fixed or is device bricked?
We have a Linksys WRTU54G-TM that serves both as a hotspot and phone line (T-Mobile). But since it's a G, the radius doesn't cover the whole house. So instead of buying an antenna, we bought another router (Cisco Factory Refurbished Linksys E1200 Advanced Wireless-N).
So the question is: How do we connect both routers to one modem properly, the N-Wireless to be used when necessary?
I have a wireless Linksys E1500 router, and for quite a few months now, my router just stopped working properly. It quit, I unplugged everything and plugged it back in, and it worked, but from that point on, it's been displaying this:
I just bought the e1000 router today and I'm already having trouble. I got it setup the first time and all my computers set up with it and it works fine for internet. Everything is snappy and responsive and I don't have any of the problems I did with my old belkin. However, I am unable to connect to the router using cisco connect or the web interface. I need to forward ports, configure wireless security, etc etc. All I did was disable the guest account through cisco connect, and then when the software just sat there doing nothing with the spinning circle in the middle, I opened task manager and killed the process to get it to go away. Now I can't connect using either cisco connect or the web interface.
I have a WRT54GS which works fine with Linux both from both wired and wireless computers using Linux. But I reinstalled Win XP and now I can't reestablish a connection following the EasyLink advisor. I did have a connection under Win XP before.
The last instruction on the Easylink advisor tells me to look for something marked "local" I don't find that word on the screen.
When I try to go to192.168.1.1 it says connection interrupted. If i use the Cisco Connect it tells me i am not connected to the internet. My pc is connected via ethernet cable. My son can pull it up on is laptop and is connect the our Linksys E3000 wirelessly. I can go online, I just cant get to the router.
If I update my firmware on my EA2700 router to be able to use the Cloud, will I loose the ability to connect to my router on 192.168.1.1 ? If this is so, why couldn't linksys let you use both Cloud and 192.168.1.1 in their latest firmware?
I want to use cisco connect with the Router E1200. There is a wireless connection between laptop and E1200 Router. When I run the "Cisco Connect" after couple minutes searching It can not find the Router and I have to put an (Router name SSID) and password.
I bought a Cisco-Linksys E3200 8 months ago and it worked well until last month. I usually power down the router after midnight & power up in the morning and evevry time it can connect to internet through DSL modem without problem until this Feb. Most of the time after powering up the router it just can't connect to internet anymore. I am sure the AT&T DSL modem is working. I have to reboot/reset the router & DSL modem several time to get router to connect to internet again. The order of resetting/rebooting DSL modem & E3200 router seems to make no difference. It just appears suddenly the router can connect to internet by chance. I changed router IP and it didn't work either. It's really annoying becuase I have to spend 10~40 minutes to resetting/rebooting DSL modem & router to get internet connection every day.
I am trying to set up a wireless repeater at home and it requires that I get configuration settings from my wireless router. However I can't access the router configuration screen. The router is a Linksys WRT54G.I am trying to access it using the IP address 192.168.1.1.I keep getting an error that says the page cannot be accessed.
-I have tried using both my a wireless and wired connection to the router. I confirmed the internet connection before attempting this. -I have tried using internet explorer and Firefox -Some posts on this site suggested trying 192.168.2.1, and 172.16.106.1, neither worked (they timed out) -I typed ipconfig and into the cmd prompt and found that 192.168.1.1 IS my default gateway -I tried adding the "s" (https://192.168.1.1) and got a username and password prompt.I do not believe I ever set up a username and password for my router.
My wrt120n router wont connect my ps3, it was working fine, now it dosnt send out a signal, but my computer is wired and works fine. I tried reseting it and leaveing it and the modem unplugged for awhile but didnt work.
I am using LINKSYS WRT54GS2 Router. Mostly I use it for connection via Wireless. I am able to connIect to it via WIRELESS more than one Laptop running Win XP and and tablets.I wanted to connect one more laptop with WINDOWS 7 OS to this network. I was able to connect via wireless this laptop ( win 7) , but the other one with xp gets disconnected.
I own a E1000 router that I use with several wireless machines. Unfortunately, I cannot connect to the configuration of the router by typing url...in a browser, be it wireless or weirdly. For example, Firefox displays "Connection has been reinitialized". Furthermore, when I launch Cisco Connect, it only shows the error "Unable to connect to router". I tried to switch my router off and on, but that doesn't work. Totally resetting the router solves the problem, but not definitely. Is there a solution that does not require resetting my router?
I purchased a WRT610N router early this month, the wireless network was working completely fine when I first set it up. Today I tried to connect my laptop to my wireless network. The laptop isn't able to connect at all. I also got a Sony PSP which has WLAN on and that saying it cannot detect any access point which would be my router.
I just ordered the E3200. It's suppose to ship today. I know it comes with 1 USB port for hard drives. Is it possible to connect a USB hub to the router so that I can connect more than 1 hard drive?
Setting up new E1200 wireless router. Used the CD to setup network. It set up two networks: 1 secured and one unsecured guest network. Ican connect wirelessly to guest network no problem but it will not connect to the secured network using the correct security key (password).
I'm having an issue getting my tv to start connecting again to the wireless router.Have tried pin setup (timed out & didn't connect...attempted at least 10 times in this fashion)Have tried entering the password (router seems to refuse the connection to the tv)About a month ago, I was in the Network Magic Map & it looked like one of the laptops had been cloned, so I removed it from the network.
I recently got an MBP, while I tried connecting it to the wi-fi connection, I keep getting the "invalid password" prompter. I tried connecting my other mac computer and Iphone to the connection and it works. I also tried connecting via ethernet as well, it worked as well. I have been trying to call the CISCO number to no avail, and it is really frustrating to be paying premium for the connection, I don't feel supported at all.
I have both a Sony XBR52HX909 and a Sony BDP-S580 connected to my router (WRT54GL)via ethernet. When I try to connect to the internet, both show the wired connection as good but neither can connect to the internet. The BDP-S580 also has wireless connectivity, but it can’t connect to the internet wirelessly. I have two desktop computers connected via ethernet and two laptops connected wirelessly to the same router and all have internet connectivity. I have tried the “auto” settings on the TV and Blu-Ray player and also tried entering the network information in manually. I still can’t connect to the internet.
I have a few devices at my home that connect wirelessly to the internet via wrt54g. I want to connect to the internet via VPN. I would like to find out if it is possible to connect WRT54G router to the VPN via PPTP or L2TP? The VPN company provided me with PPTP and L2TP credentials. I can access vpn via OpenVPN on computers but I would like my TV connect to the internet also via VPN.
