these error perhaps happened after a plug power jack action. Dc-dc chip is ME5513,the voltage on its pin4 is about 11.94V,and the voltage on following electrolytic capacitor is 3.3V,its seem normal.
I have a ~3 month old e1000 v2. In the last 24 hours it appears to have died, all 4 ethernet lights plus the power light and the one to it's left are on continuously. Before I dispose of it, does anyone know if this really is a hardware fail or is there some way to recover it? I've tried a few resets, power cycles and leaving it off for a few hours in the hopes that would bring it back to life but to no avail.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I just got this router in hopes that I would get a better signal within my room as opposed to my older router. Unfortunately, nothing has changed, in fact I think I'm getting weaker signals. My previous router was a D-Link WBR-2310. I went to speed test.net and tested 3 variables. My wifi on my desktop in my room, my wifi when right next to a router on my laptop, and my wifi using my neighbors wifi in my room.
My room Desktop Wifi:
Download was 0.50 mbs Upload: 3.6
My laptop right next to Router:
Download 19.87 mbs Upload: 3.5
My room Desktop Neighbors Wifi:
Download was 17.3 mbs Upload was 3.32.
What is the point of this new wireless N router, when it can't beat a G router older model in reach? And why does is have a 0.50 mb d/l speed but a 3.6 upload speed?
Got a new e1000 after a RMA. The new unit has a very weak wifi signal. I've tried all different channels. It is running in mixed mode. No microwave, blue-tooth or other noise. 4 feet from the router and the signal is down to -90db. Take a few more steps away and the connection is lost.

Additionally, we don't have access to rs-232 port on AP. In this moment on WLC we can see DISCOVERY request from AP and response from WLC to AP, but AP don't send JOIN to controller.

Some overall config info first:
This is a small office with 2x Catalyst 2950 (24-port, no PoE) switches and 4 AP1231G (autonomous). The APs get PoE from a PWRINJ3 each. The injectors are powered by the AP power supplies. Injectors and power supplies are mounted in the patch closet.
The 2 switches are connected together over 4 ports (20-23 on each switch), these ports are set to 1Q Trunk mode.
The APs are connected to the switches, 2 to each switch, on port 1-2. These ports again are configured as 1Q Trunk.
APs are connected to the switch as follows:
[switch] <- patch cable-> [injector] <- patch cable -> [patch panel] <- static cabling -> [outlet] <- patch cable -> [AP]
All this has been working without problems for a number of years.
A few weeks back, AP2 did not restart after a power cut (everything else did). All LEDs are off, port on switch has no LEDs lit. I did not get around to investigating this furtehr until last week. I unmounted (failed) AP2, took it to the spot where (working) AP3 hangs, and plugged it to the cable of AP3. AP2 came to life immediately. I unplugged it and plugged AP3 back in, which restarted immediately.
So I suspect a power supply issue on AP2. I took the injector and power supply that fed AP2 out of the patch closet. When connecting AP2 directly to the power supply, it came to life immediately. So I figure the injector is defective.
On the same day, I notice AP4 is also dead (again all LEDs off, no idea how long, could have been that day or could have been a few days - it has definitely been working after the power cut that appeared to have killed AP2).
So I order 2 new PWRINJ3s and for good measure 2 new power supplies. Later that day, I took the injector and power supply that fed AP4 out of the patch closet. When I try this combination (AP4, injector4 and P/S4), and connect it to a different wall outlet (and therefore a different port -16 - on the switch) IT WORKS! Should have triggered questions, but did not immediately.
Last Thursday I got the new injectors and power supplies. So I take one of each, hook them upto AP2 at my desk, and AP2 starts up. So I mount new injector2 and new P/S2 in the patch closet, put AP2 back in its place, connect all the cables - NOTHING. AP2 does not start. The "power" LED on the injecvtor lights up green, the "device status" LED remains off. I take AP2, new injector2 and new P/S2 to my desk, hook them upto a wall outlet (connected to switch port 17). AP2 starts immediately.
Meanwhile AP3 has (also) stopped working (no LEDs on at all). As far as I can tell, it stopped working after I briefly disconnected (and reconnected) the patch cable between injector3 and the patch panel in the patch closet. The LEDs on switch port 1 are off.
I have since tried to power cycle both switches (took power off both, waited a while, poewerd both back on). No change.
PS: the APs ran firmware 12.3(8)-JA until recently. AP1, AP3 and AP4 were upgraded to 12.3(8)-JEE after the the power cut that took AP2 out. THis is when I found out AP2 was dead. AP2 was still on 12.3(8)-JA. It was upgraded to 12.3(8)-JEE last week when it was on direct power on my desk.

In Device Manager, under Network Adapters there is a "Realtek PCIe GBE..." device properly installed. But under Other Devices there are now more entries with exclamation mark:
- Network controller
- Multimedia controller
- PCI Communication controller
etc
I tried updating the drivers, then deleting and reinstalling but no success so far. Still can't connect to the internet. The browser can see the router, at 192.168.1.1 I don't know where the problem is.
We have several SF-300-48P switches, eveytime there is a power failure the switches need to reboot 2 or 3 times before they are able to route packets again.

Thinking back, about a month ago I updated the firmware (I can't check version at the moment). The switch has been working fine since then. Today I needed to move some power cables and the switch lost power. Now ALL of the LED lights are flashing green and I can't access the switch. I've tried setting a static IP on my laptop to 192.168.1.20, mask 255.255.255.0, and accessing the switch on 192.168.1.254, but there's no response. I've tried holding in the reset button for at least 30 seconds while the switch is powered on, AND while powering it on. None of that has worked. Also when I first power it on, the system LED flashes orange very quickly for a second or so, then all of the LEDS start flashing green.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter a recent power outage while my PC was in sleep mode, I don't have wired (Ethernet) connectivity.
I have new Dimension E510XP Media Center Edition, Version 2002, SP3 ver had an issue with wired connectivity on this PC after coming out of sleep mode. Of course, the power failure was unusual.
Observations:
- ipconfig /all shows that I have an IP address
- I can ping the DHCP server listed in ipconfig /all and I also can ping google.com.
- I was going to go a restore point set before the power outage. But, somehow system restore had gotten turned off. Oh, well. I did go ahead and turn system restore back on.
Things I've already tried that did not solve the issue:
- Reboot
- Uninstall/reinstall the network adapter driver. Device Manager says the network adapter card is working properly.
- Looked for an updated network adapter driver on Dell's website. Turns out that I have the latest driver already.
- Followed many of the steps from Microsoft at [URL]
- Checked McAfee Security Center firewall permissions list to see if something got changed. Everything looked okay. Also disabled the firewall just to be sure,
- Disabled SafeEyes internet filter.
- Reset the router. Also swapped router ports with a known good PC. The known good PC still had connectivity, the affected PC (the E510) did not.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been attempting to set up a linksys wireless-n e1200 router on my hp p6-2007c (Windows 7 SP1, 64-bit) desktop pc for the last day and have exhausted everything i can think of. The previous router was a linksys WRT54G and it worked fine. However, upon setting up this new router i get a "no internet access" message accompanied by the little yellow triangle and the ability to still connect to my router via its ip address to alter its configuration. The connection status for the network and the internet is identical for all the laptops in my house. I originally attempted setting up the router using Cisco's setup program. At its conclusion, the setup program informs me that i am connected to the router, but my internet connection has been lost (even though it was never there) I have tried starting over from scratch by resetting the router back to its default settings and using a variety of different channels (Auto, 1, 6, and 11), frequencies, etc. I have uninstalled norton antivirus, disarmed the windows security programs, made sure of TCP/IP settings, rolled back, uninstalled, and finally updated firmware, uninstalled/reinstalled driver for wireless card, disabled/enabled the card itself, deleted all other previous network profiles still present in the "Manage Wireless Networks" screen, and probably some other suggestions i came across in this forum. They all failed with the same results, i.e. the ability to connect to the network locally and having no internet access.

The only things connecting to it wireless were my wii and my PS3 which were in the next room, less than 15feet away. I purchased a Windows 7 machine for my wife for Christmas, and gave the XP machine to my kids. I moved the modem and router into the kids playroom, and set the Windows 7 machine up for wireless. Now the router is at one end of the house, and the 7 machine is about 45 feet away. The signal strength was never an issue until last week, and now the PS3 and the Win7 machine constantly have weak signal or no signal. I don't know a whole lot about networking. I am willing to move the router and modem to a central location as a last resort, but would like to keep them with the XP machine for our kids to use.

- unstable and weak connection
- pings to websites like google.com drops, average: 1 out of 3
- low signal, on the same spot my three years old HP-laptop with 'a build in wireless card' has full signal strength in Windows 7
- it works well under Windows XP (32 bit)
I am convinced that drivers for the WMP600N are not ready for Window 7 x64. Linksys (or Ralink, which developed the chipset), release a proper driver for the WMP600N.

I bought two of the V1 units and had no trouble with one of them but the other is frustrating me. However, 3 days ago it decided to go haywire. 1) It does not connect to the internet 2) It does not detect/connect to the computer when LAN cable is plugged in (does not load in 192.168.1.1) 3) I have tried resetting the router many times and even holding the reset button for 30 secs and switching off and switching on but to no avail. 4) I have had a linksys live chat with Johnel and he determined that it may be a possible hardware problem 5) Current Status of the Router: It makes no attempt to establish any connection/load whenever turned on, as seen when no lights are blinking when switched on. Upon switching on, Power Light becomes Red and Internet Light becomes Red and the middle Refresh Button become Red. 6) I have tried installing the driver for the router but there is no way I can install the driver because the computer does not detect that the router is connected What can I do about these? 1) Can I get a replacement of a different model? This router has been giving me problems since Day 1 2) I am seriously considering switching my service provider from M1 to Starhub. If that is the case, is there any way I can be replaced with a Cable Modem instead of ADSL Modem?

The only way I can get the Media Server to recover is to power cycle the E4200
I just set up my e2500 from lynksys tech support with a motorola mode. i'm running dsl into my house laptops all connect no issues however my iphone 3gs will lose connectivity and received the ppoe failure this morning unplugging an plugging in both router/modem restes but that's a pain even doing a reset on my phone doesn't work.

The PC running Windows 7 and using an AE1000 wireless adapter is only getting 2 bars out of 5. I don't think there's any interference. I can't figure out why the signal strength is so poor.
