Linksys Wireless Router :: Connecting WRT54GX4 To Network
Feb 21, 2012I want to add some wifi to our small office. I have a WRT54GX4 wireless router. I would like to have it be part of our 192.168.0.0 network. I manually changed the address of the WRT54GX4 to 192.168.0.50 (an open address) and gave it a range of 25 addresses 192.168.0.51-192.168.0.75. I changed the SSID from "linksys" to something different. I added a WPA2 Personal code. I also changed the admin password from "admin". I did all of this on a laptop connected to the router with an ethernet cable into port 1 on the router with wifi "off" on the laptop. I disconnected this and plugged one end of the ethernet cable into an open port on a switch in our rack and moved the other end from port 1 to the internet port on the router. I connected to the router wirelessly with my iPad. I was able to connect to the router and log into the router but I'm not getting any internet connection.

Can I add two of these in the path to the barn to extend the signal? I would put one in the back of the house and one halfway to the barn in the pool house. ZCan these routers connect wirelessly to the home network?

Feb 18, 2012I am using wrt54gx4. I have a IP camera connected to it. I can view the live images on the intranet and internet. Not too long ago my DSL company upgraded my DSL modem to a newer model. Then I can not connect to the internet by PPPoe. DHCP is fine. So the only connection type works is DHCP. But now I can not view the live images on the internet. I can only view the live images on intranet( I mean if I open web browser and type url.. is the port, I can view the live image).

My router is not working wireless. Just stopped working. I hadn't touched anything in the settings. Nothing is picking up it's signal. All the lights are on saying that it SHOULD be working!I checked all the settings and they were as before. I have unplugged it and restarted, I have reset to factory settings and set it back up again but nothing! Works fine on the wire.

D-Link Wireless Router Not Working After Changing Speed / Duplex Settings?
May 24, 2012I have a broadband connection and recently I bought a new D-Link wireless router for accessing internet on my Android phone via Wi-Fi. Router model no. is N 150 DIR-524.After configuring it was working fine for a week or so and then one fine day internet stopped working on my PC and router LED for internet was not glowing as well. So I called my ISP and they changed my ethernet card settings (nVidia).They changed the 'Speed/duplex settings' from 'Auto Negotiation' to '10 Mb Half Duplex' and then the internet started working. During this they had disconnected my router. Once they were gone, I reset the router and connected it back. Since then it ain't working Internet works fine when the cable is plugged directly in the ethernet card but doesn't work when plugged via router. Router does everything right from opening the '192.168.0.1' page to saving the settings. But there's no internet access.

I bought a TP-Link TL-WR740R Router, the setup went smoothly, I could connect to the internet and set up WiFi connection. But after a few hours, I accidentally unplugged the Ethernet cable from the router, and since then, I can't seem to make the router work. (I obviously plugged it back in.) Setup says I have a problem with the WAN connection.I tried rebooting, resting, reconfiguring, cloning the MAC address.The router is sending packages, but receiving none. How could this happen just by unplugging the cable for a second?

If I change the UserId and Password from my Century Link values back to my old ISP values, I can connect to my old ISP. Century Link tells me they have my account active with the X2000 and Century Link.

DHCP is disabled on the E2500. I can use my E2500 as a wired access point with no difficulty I plug something in and it calls the router and gets an address, but I can not get DHCP through the wireless of the E2500.

Jun 29, 2012I have a synology DS411 and a ATV2.DS411 is always downloading from internet,normally the download' bandwidth of DS411 is around 2MB/s.In my old netgear 3800,i just need to active WMM and add a port OQS that the port connection DS411 is low.Then when I watch stream video from internet on my ATV2.I can see the DS411's bandwidth will be reduced automatic.I replaced 3800 with E4200v2 some days before,and I have done the same config ,turn WMM ,set ATV MAC to highest and DS411 MAC to lowest. But when I watch ATV2,DS411's bandwidth seems not be reduced,so I cant get the smooth video Its very bad.

I used another computer to hook up with the ethernet cable because that wouldn't work wireless for some reason. A little while after that, the Linksys network stopped working completely(all three computers could not access the internet). Now I can only connect to the internet if I use a ethernet cable from the modem.

Sep 22, 2011Running Comcast Business Class in my restaurant. I have a Mac Pro PowerPC G5 tower running OSX: 10.5.8. The Comcast guy hooked everything up along with the WRT54g i found in the basement (previous owner). Everything worked well, he programed the router through his internet pad; never touched my Mac. All of a sudden my power outlet in which my modem and router are connected reset themselves. I reset them back on, however, my router Never worked again. My mac is directly connected to my modem, not router. I have it hooked up on LAN #4 (light turns on), however, after the outlet reset, the router wont even show up on my Modem's LAN. I cant open it open it on my browser, 192.168.0.1, or 1.1. I try the 30-30-30 reset, nothing. While looking for my own remedy, i think i downloaded the new firmware to my mac, nothing happened.

Sep 7, 2012Up until about midnight tonight, my router, which has been plugged in to my cable modem, has been working fine for years, both wired and wirelessly. Suddenly, however, I went to log on to my desktop PC (wired connection; Windows 7), and I had no network connection. ipconfig indicated "media disconnected." My cable-based phone service (VOIP) is still working fine at this time.
First attempt - unplug router, wait 15 seconds, plug it back in. Still no good, though my network sharing center indicated that the network connection was appearing/disappearing every few seconds, never actually getting "internet" connectivity.
Second attempt - attempted to use a WIFI-based device (iPad), which could not see my home network by name at all.
Third attempt - reset both the cable modem and the router, bringing the cable modem up FIRST. Same results as the first attempt.
Fourth attempt - plug the wired PC directly into the cable modem - this worked fine and is how I am submitting this post as I type. So the cable modem is working properly.
Fifth attempt - look up the information on how to reset the router to factory defaults. Used a paperclip to depress the reset button for 10- and on a subsequent attempt, 30-seconds (no obvious "reset" blink pattern was observed). Plug PC back in to router. PC would not obtain any DHCP-based IP address and the network sharing center was still behaving as in the first attempt.
Sixth attempt - disconnect the cable modem uplink and see if I could get the local network functioning. Now I noticed that the LED patterns on the router were behaving as:
- Power and my PC's slot number lit
- All lights lit
- All lights off
- Power and my PC's slot number lit
- etc

It still shows up as a network you can connect to, but whenever I try to connect, it keeps saying there is a problem with my connection. I tried using a different internet cord, but nothing changes. Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT-150N Cascading Can't Seem To Get WAN Working
Dec 25, 2012I am currently trying to do a cascading LAN-LAN, my primary router is a d-link, my second router is a linksys 150N, I connected an ethernet cable to one of the 1-4 ports in the second router(150N with DD-WRT firmware), I tried logging into the 150N via 192.168.1.1(I did a hard reset so I have to get in and change it to 192.168.1.2) but I think i am going directly to the primary router. I tried connecting the 150N(secondary) directly to change the address to 192/.2 but I dont get anything, seems the internet connection to the router is not working. is there any other way? I had this working but I forgot the password and had to do a hard reset(this is a network back at my parents, I am here for the holidays) the way I had it working was LAN-LAN, Im not sure if the internet port for the 150N is damaged.
I tried connecting the internet cable from the 1st router to the internet port of the 2nd(150N) and didnt get anything.
I am about to think that maybe my 150N is faulty or at least the internet connection throught the blue port is not working.

Apr 11, 2012Using a wrt610n.I am trying to Isolate one of my wireless bands from the rest of the network. I turn on the AP Isolation and I still have access to all of my wired computers. With AP Isolation working will they be able to see the hard drive plugged into the router?I've heard that they can still see other wireless devices, is that true? And if so, can they see others wireless devices on the other wireless band?
