I am looking to permanently reset the default remote management port of the MODEM DPC3825 to something other than 8080. how to PERMANENTLY change the port from 8080? In the web interface under administration I have several times set it to something else other than the defaulted 8080 but when the modem is rebooted or reset, it goes back to the default 8080.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to add some wifi to our small office. I have a WRT54GX4 wireless router. I would like to have it be part of our 192.168.0.0 network. I manually changed the address of the WRT54GX4 to 192.168.0.50 (an open address) and gave it a range of 25 addresses 192.168.0.51-192.168.0.75. I changed the SSID from "linksys" to something different. I added a WPA2 Personal code. I also changed the admin password from "admin". I did all of this on a laptop connected to the router with an ethernet cable into port 1 on the router with wifi "off" on the laptop. I disconnected this and plugged one end of the ethernet cable into an open port on a switch in our rack and moved the other end from port 1 to the internet port on the router. I connected to the router wirelessly with my iPad. I was able to connect to the router and log into the router but I'm not getting any internet connection.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using wrt54gx4. I have a IP camera connected to it. I can view the live images on the intranet and internet. Not too long ago my DSL company upgraded my DSL modem to a newer model. Then I can not connect to the internet by PPPoe. DHCP is fine. So the only connection type works is DHCP. But now I can not view the live images on the internet. I can only view the live images on intranet( I mean if I open web browser and type url.. is the port, I can view the live image).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI attached an Iomego Home Media network hard drive to my Linksys E3000 router (via ethernet cable). Before setting up the remote access on the Iomega, I forwarded the ports that it wanted (443 and 21) to the static IP of the Iomega. I checked to see that they were open using yougetsignal.com and they were both open. After setting up the remote access on the Iomega, the 443 port closed and I cant even get into the "manage storage device" page for the Iomega. Iomega uses TZo for the domain names. They tell me that the association is made between the name and my public IP address. My router is out of warranty since Sept, so Linksys wont give me the time of day. I contacted my ISP and while they block a couple of ports, 443 is not one of them.I've installed the latest firmware (1.0.04 - Build 6). Reset and rebooted numerous times, Port 443 remains closed.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSome routers are able to forward to broadcast directly by sending a port to 192.168.1.255, other's I've been able to trick by forwarding to 192.168.1.254 and then editing the arp table with 192.168.1.254 <-> ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff. Is there any way I can edit the arp table of the E4200? Is there a way to telnet in or get a console connection?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI encounter a problem setting up port 80 forwarding on WRT54g router.
Configuration:
- Numericable modem
- WRT54G router : portforwarding configured, accepting anonymous internet traffic, no DMZ, no port-triggering... in fact everything is fine except for ports 80/443
- Linux Ubuntu server + Apache2 listening *:80 and/or *:15001
1/ Situation 1: Apache listening on server's *:15001
-> Accessing from Internet (outside LAN) works very fine.
-> Portforwarding of router:15001 to server:15001 (TCP) works fine.
2/ Situation 2: Apache listening on server *:80
-> Accessing from Internet (outside LAN) FAILS.
-> Portforwarding of router:80 to server:80 (TCP) doesn't work. Diagnostic using the client machine's firewall tool showed the request doesn't get any return... no traffic back at all.
The system being fully operational when using port:15001 shows the problem does not come from server configuration.I still have to try a bypass of my router by plugging the modem directly on the server eth card.
-> If that works it would definitely prove the problem comes from the router, precisely the portforwarding feature as applied to port:80.
My guess is the following:
- As WRT54g router's remote administration interface is precisely set to listen 80/443 ports.
- As I still did not disable remote administration as I need it, but I will come to such extremities (very soon in fact as despair is gaining me
- Looks like WRT54g is unable to forward port 80 as this is it's remote administration port. You can set it up, but it just won't work, and there's no warning
Solutions?
- Disable remote administration? (will it work ? cause I would not risk to disable it for nothing...)
- Have remote administration litening on different ports than 80/443?
- Is my diagnostic correct ? (at least, does it seems to be...)
- (shall I get another device? Update to alternative firmware project?)
PS : I could be asked for ifconfig/netstats/hdw-fmw version, I would post later as I do not have access now.Looks like to me it is recurrent issue on WRT54g (maybe I'm wrong and just an **bleep** in LAN/WAN configuration which is highly possible)
I am trying to set up a web server behind WRT55AG router. I have read many forums where people are having the same problem, but none explain how to fix issue. The router will not forward any port to the server. Any attempt to access the server from outside my local network just brings me to the login screen of the router. I have tried port forwarding port 80 and 10080 and both do the same thing. Also, I have the firewall, remote management, and UPnP turned off

I'm using Cisco Connect Cloud to connect to my E4200 router. I wish to open my NAT type as currently its moderate on all games.Where the hell is the area to add the port ranges?? Is it even an option on the new connect cloud? If it is, it doesn't make it very easy to find. Would be allot easier if you had a tab/app for "Gaming/Applications" like you did previously.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI fought my ISP (frontier) for weeks trying to get their 7500 DSL/modem/router configured in bridge and working into the WRT600N. Finally gave up and put a new Engenius EVR100 behind the 7500 bridge and it came up fine in 10 mins. Now I would like to use my old WRT600N downstairs as a second router and run it in the range of the Engenius DHCP, with DHCP turned off in the WRT600N.
My question is this ... Do I set the WRT600N as a static IP address and use an address in the range issued by the EVR100?And, if so, what would the sub-net mask, default gateway and DNS numbers be? Also would the router address itself (lets say I use 192.168.0.120 from the EVR100 range) be different then the static IP address?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm following a tutorial that 'dumbs down' the modem and lets me use the router for everything.
It asks me to set up a static LAN IP (10.x.x.x range) and edit the DHCP pool of the router. When I'm logged in to the routers admin, it doesn't seem I'm able to do any of this.
Earlier in the tutorial it also asked me to set up a static IP for the router, which I did I suppose.
I've added a screenshot of the admin panel, in case that's relevant.
