I accidentally did a system recovery. I installed all updates (I think),but now my linksys wireless adapter won't install. It says this version of windows is not supported. It worked before the system recovery. I am using XP.

I am looking at buying the EA6500 router. However, before I make the investment into buying this router, I need to know some basic information first.
1. I want to setup the EA6500 to accept FTP requests to my Windows Home Server. Yes or No?

i have been living in China for some time and bought a DIR-600M router from DLINK while I was there. While a friend configured it for me and everything was fine, i would love to have an english version of the firmware.... i have searched everywhere but couldnt find any english version for this particular model..I have tried to download and install the American version of the 600 model, but it seems as it does not accept this version as it always jumps back to the chinese version after rebooting....

I'm trying to install a WMP54G PCI Version 4.1 in my Windows 2000 Pro SP4 computer. I ran the setup cd before installing the card, then took out the disk. After installing the card and powering the computer, the Available Wireless Network screen didn't appear. I also didn't get the Network Monitor icon on the taskbar. Network Monitor appears in the start menu, but can't be started. Device Manager says the card is working properly and there are no conflicts.
I uninstalled the software, removed the card, and repeated the installation process with the same end result. The card light blinks like it is receiving data. I'm using a Linksys WRT54G2 router. Both my desktop (W7) and my laptop (Vista) connect just fine. How can I get my W2K computer on the network?
No Matter what I use-admin/new user or group I assign... CAN NOT login from the outside IP!I can see it/map it and access it all day from my network, no problem. I get at 530 login error everytime I try to come in from the outer world. I have a static IP and cannot get in. It will prompt me for user name and password so I know it is responding to my query. View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I plug in the power cord to my EA6500 all the LED's on the back, and the white Cisco on the front come on solid, then the lights on the back go out and the white Cisco light starts blinking faster than every second. I can't get it to stop blinking no matter what I've tried so far.
It won't let me connect to it at all. I've tried everything I can think of, and have tried almost everything I could find in Troubleshooting in Cisco Community. The Linksys Smart Wi Fi Router setup says "We could not find your router."
I've also tried using the red Reset button and the light never stops flashing. I've tried pushing the button quickly, holding it down for ten seconds, and holding it down for more than 30 seconds, but the light continues to blink. I have a D-link wireless-N USB adapter whos MAC address starts with 1C:xx:xx:etc. Unfortunately the QOS GUI does not allow me to enter a MAC address that starts with anything but a zero (0). This is a javascript verification so I guess it would be fairly simple to modify this. Is it possible to have the firmware updated so these MAC addresses are accepted?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI set up the WAP610N as a wireless access point, and it refuses to accept the passsword on several iphones (2 iphone4s and one iphone5) and a kindle fire.
The devices are picking up the network, but when the password is entered, the access point refuses the password. I've checked the password numerous times and the spelling is correct.
If the access point's settings are set to no security, there's an instant connection, which I expected, but the password is refused on either of the secure settings.
I bought the WAP610N for my son months ago, but he couldn't get it installed in his old apartment several states away because he doesn't have a CD drive in his computer. Now that he's moved into an apartment close to home, I was able to set it up using my computer. So I don't know if maybe it's a firmware issue since it sat in the box for months, or something else.
The access point is hooked up through a TP-Link TL-R860 Cable/DSL Router., which is not wireless.

I tried setting TiVo up manually but it won't accept the password/key for the 5g band. I gave up and used the "push button" method, but I have a feeling that puts it on the 2.4g band.I do have two different SSIDs and two different passwords.

After changing the password and clicking on Save a small screen pops up asking me to verify my router's username and password. When I enter the exact same user name and password it does not accept them. When I try to enter the old user name and password it does not accept them either. I then try combinations of the two and it still will not accept the input. I have reset my router 4 times now and this keeps occurring. I am completely baffled.

My question is can we upgrade the WiSMs and do the WCS at a later date with no issues or do we need to do them at the same time to keep visibility of everything?
The reason I ask is that some of my clients use lobby ambassador for some of their users and they will need wireless access on the day we are due to upgrade WCS (the WiSMs are due to be upgraded and rebooted earlier that morning.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI happened to update firmware version of my WAG54G2 to the latest version 1.xx.xx.19. Since then connection to internet has became erratic. If rebooted, the device mostly doesn't connect. Switching to PPPoE from PPPoA and vice versa works but i have to do it every time the device is rebooted. Sometimes even that doesn't work. Basically it acts random. DSL connection shows as connected, but the internet interface is mostly down. I was wondering if i can switch back to to old 1.xx.xx.10 version. It never gave me any trouble ever for around 2 years.

I do have an ethernet cable from my pc, but apparently it only works in my pc and not on my PS3. It keeps saying: no ethernet cable connected. I have a linksys wrt54g version 7. I installed the router myself, but if my wired connection to my pc works, and the wireless connection works for the laptop, there shouldn't be any problem I guess?Perhaps, could the laptop -which is on the router's wifi and which is halfway in between my router and my PS3 in distance- act as a wifi amplifier to my PS3? That way, the ps3 could pick up the signal from the laptop, instead of all the way from the router?
