I just recieved the netgear modem model 7550 from frontier. when i try to connect to the wifi i get a message saying that it is connected but there is a lock symbol on the wifi icon. i have entered in the password but it does not change anything?
I have at&t DSL.I NEEDED to upgrade my wireless gateway from the 2wire wireless-G gate way that I had.I also have a Netgear WNDR-4000 750N Wireless Dual Band Router.
I know I needed an at&t modem to run my DSL, so I purchased (before reading reviews) a Netgear 7550 Wireless Gateway from at&t (they did not have any "N" single user modems (if there is such a thing).I have read through other posts that it is possible to connect the two and I would not need the 7550 for anything else but a modem (disabling broadcast).
The question is ... do I REALY need to do all this or can I just get away with the 7550?Or will the Netgear WNDR-4000 750N Wireless Dual Band Router, if installed and used, fix some of the issues that other 7550 users have said in other posts?
Wireless ... I have 3 gaming systems, two PC's, a tablet and 4 smartphones.I will be using 3 wired ports ... 1 gaming system, PC, and a blue-ray.
And yes, my 2wire wireless-g gateway ran all these ... not efficiently or reliably, but they all did run.
I have not received the Netgear 7550 yet, just trying to get some opinions on which setup would be better.
Tried numerous times but no Internet connection between Directv hr23-700 and Netgear DSL 7550 modem/router. Is connected to home network, but no Internet.
Netgear router works perfectly. Have cable internet, everything works great. want to connect my new kindle to Netgear. Kindle asks me for the password and I no longer remember what it is. Could you tell me how to either find out what I named it or tell me how to change it?
Nearly every morning/evening I have to re-boot my router to get internet access. Netgear N300 ADSL2+ modem router Model DGN 2200 (had about a year), Windows 7 64bit Home premium Laptop connected wirelessly, Windows 7 64Bit Home Premium desktop connected by LAN cable. ISP BT Internet. Until recently this set up has been working OK with occasional loss of interent access and need to re-boot router. The internet light has been showing red on those occasions. Over the last two weeks I have found that when I turn one of computers on although all lights on router are green I have no internet access. I have to re-boot, then all is OK until the next day when I have to re-boot again. My phone line appears OK with no noise on line, no reported problems on BT broadband staus. The thing that puzzles me is that the lights are all green on the router yet my networking icon on the pc shows an exclammation mark and 'no internet access' and I do not have access to net.The wireless connection is OK with excellent strength.
I bought a kindle and couldn't get it to connect to wifi. I have a BT homehub 2 and am running xp on my pc. I have now come to the conclusion it was my pc - if I buy a netgear adaptor.
My first Rooter provides Broadband via a cable connection. Is it possible too add a second rooter too the first one and set the second one for WI-FI or is their a better way too get my Kindle WI-FI connected.
We are a public library and offer an open wireless cloud to our patrons. We are currently having trouble with people connecting to our wireless with the Kindle Touch version 4. Users of the Kindle Fire and older models have no problems with connecting, just this one specific model. We are using Cisco Aironet 1230 Access Points connecting back via LWAPP to a WLC 4402 running code version 7.0.220.0. The clients are receiving their DHCP options from a Windows 2003 server. Besides the standard options we are also pushing the WPAD 252 option.
We have a Belkin Play N600 model F7D8302 v1 duel band router. It connects to the Blue Ray player about 40' away in living room and to ipad mini used about 15' in adjacent bedroom.I will not connect to the ipad when farther than 20' away anywhere in the house. I moved the router away from the computer as suggested in the manuel, still same problem. I tried to get support from Belkin and they said this is not listed as a supported product without buying something on their website. If I spend any more money, it won't be to Belkin as I have only owned this router 2 months now.
I forwarded port 80. I installed all of the required software, everything. The video feed on the Lorex dvr plays to the monitor. I have followed all of the directions and when I try to connect remotely I am missing a plug-in or add-on depending on if I use Firefox or IE.it is the Lorex 110 model I am using windows 7.
I am on the LAN attached to fa0/0 on R1 and I need layer 2 connectivity to a device on fa0/0 on R2. I'm not sure if this is possible with 1841's or not? I made a GRE tunnel between the two and was going to add a BVI and bridge the tunnel at each end with fa0/0 at eah end, but the 1841's don't support BVIs so I'm a bit stumped here! Would L2TP work here?
R2 is a remote router running C1841-SPSERVICESK9-M. R1 is local running C1841-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M. I can't change the remote router so if the answer is not support in C1841-SPSERVICESK9-M I won't be able to do this.
My firewall outpost detected incoming connections on port 80 and blocked them.I think that the router must block incoming connections on port 80, right? But it does not.
ATT just sent me a replacement Netgear 7550 ADSL Gateway. I previously had a 2Wire modem that could connect with my Mac desktop and Toshiba laptop without issues. Now my Mac is up and running wireless on the new gateway (no problem), but the laptop (Windows 7) is not connecting and Windows troubleshooting goes not resolve the problem. It will connect via Ethernet but ATT could not get it on wireless. The ATT tech signed on the the laptop and could not get it done.
I've heard that you can set up your kindles and other things with the modem so that you don't always have to log in with your name and password.Someone said something about a mac number and I went to wireless setup in my modem and mac authentication > enable > allow device list > manually entered the device number. However, I still have to log in with my name and password
I have a Netgear wgr614v7 wireless router that has been working perfectly for a couple weeks now, but I have suddenly run into a problem. For some reason, I can now only connect one laptop at a time to the network. When I try to connect a second laptop, it says, "Windows was unable to connect to [network name]". When I try to connect with my Macbook, it says "network timed out".
I have installed the netgear N900 dual band which is 99 and is working fine on 2.45ghz because I have a belkin g range extender as my house is very long. So everything is working and my computer works but every so often the Internet drops so the modem needs turned on and off to get back on the Internet even though my computer says its connected but not loading any pages. It works fine for a while then sometimes drops, it works fine until I use my Mac books or iMac but works fine with iPhones? What can I do ?
