I am a mac user, and whenever I try to open this following link: [URL] to log in my router, nothing happens. Firefox and/or Safari browse the link for a while, but then nothing happens. I am using a Zyxel prestige series 600.
View 3 Repliesi have a ZyXel prestige 650H-31 Model # router and i'm not able to go on to configuration page of the router i tried 192.168.1.1 several times, even after system reboot and router reset, but of no use. I've a wire connection with desktop (RJ-45 port) not USB AND MY PPPoE lights never lit. originally when i entered the gateway 192.168.1.1 it asked me for username & password, since i didn't have the password at that time i tried to reset the router but after that when ever i entered 192.168.1.1 in the browser it never came up with the option to enter user name & password. I've checked all the wires are also connected. I tried prompt command and it showed that timed out thrice and then sent= 4 received= 0 lost= 100%. I had D-Link router prior to it and later connected the D-Link router an i was able to get connected to net and browse normally.

When I try to delete something I get the following error.When I click "Try Again" the file seems to be gone, but it has actually just become invisible, it's still there.I've tried to use Take Ownership, but that just gives an error "Access denied"according to the router settings I should have read and write permissions.When I connect the drive directly to my PC there are no issues.

I can connect to the SSID just fine, but it's not actually connected to the internet, only locally (as I can configure the router).I have turned OFF DHCP for the second router, that I only intend to use as a second access point.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been able to put two Linksys routers in series no problem but this doesn't seem to work with an RV042.I have a number of customers that need to connect to a private email network via a router based VPN, but since VPN traffic is not filtered in the firewall, I would like to use an older Linksys router to manage the VPN(s) and have it pass data in through the filters of an RV042 on the DMZ port.I am getting stuck on the very frist part of this. Although I can connect to both the RV042 and LinkSys directly (by adjusting my subnet), I cannot ping the Linksys when it is connected through the DMZ port even if I disable the RV042 Internet port.
I know both the Internet and DMZ ports work on the RV042. I suspected that perhaps the RV won't pass through private IPs and tried known available pubic IPs instead of the 192.168.2.x subnet, but still no ping.What would be limiting the RV in this case? Is is possible to setup the RV to work in series with another router? Is there any other way to filter VPN traffic?
I want to setup an home network with a wireless router and use multiple switches for wired connections through out my home. I currently have an Airport extreme hooked up to a cable modem and a leviton gateway hooked up to the Airport. The 2 computers connected to the Leviton are on a windows 7 homegroup and share fine, but won't share or discover any wireless device connected to Airport. My main goal is to have a wireless/wired network with all computers sharing information with each other. I want 2-3 wired switches/gateways with a min of 2 devices connected to each, connected to my wireless router whiich is connected to cable modem.

The 4500 and then 6500 are connected to the ooma.I have this problem when the routers where placed in front of the ooma as well.
1 time per day, always at the same time, the router stops working. for both wired and wireless connections. i need to unplug the router to work. The modem and ooma continue to work, so i know there is internet getting passed from the modem to the ooma. However, the internet gets disruptted with the routers.
this must be a settings issue with the router. where everyday at the same time, maybe when timewarner changes over or something the router does not pick it up?? i dont know. i have gone through 2 routers and same identical problem.

We are going to be moving to a 20MB line, and i just wanted to make sure I have the right connections before installing. We also have a T1 line in another loaton and would be moving to this same 2811 router there as well.We would also like to copy over the configuration from 1700 series router to the 2811 router. Would it be easier to do it by hyper-terminal? Also if we keep the 1700 routers are they capable of using layer-3?

I have just got a ZyXEL P660HN-TxA router/modem on my home landline to use for wifi with my smartphone. The problem I have is it won't stay connected for long. It connects quickly & browsing is fast for a few minutes, but then it just kicks me offI am still connected to the wifi, but I can't browse anything or re-connect to the internet. Sometimes I can use it for up to 10/15 minutes before it kicks me off. I have to reset the modem, or turn the wifi off then back on via my phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased a ZyXEL 3205 to serve as a universal repeater in my house, to boost the DSL wireless signal from upstairs to downstairs. I have a 2WIRE router, and my DSL is through AT&T. The wireless works just fine (and we've been connecting multiple devices through it for over a month), but the signal is weak downstairs, so this seemed like a good cheap solution.I found several good sets of instructions on setting up the 3205 as a repeater, so while complex, that was not really a problem.
However, the 3205's status is still marked as "disassociated", which means that it won't connect to the 2WIRE. It can see the signal, and I'm telling it to connect and giving it the correct key. It also broadcasts just fine, since my wireless devices can connect to the 3205 when it is turned on. However, the 3205 refuses to actually connect to the 2WIRE for some reason. Is there a known issue with connecting? I've checked all the obvious things - they're set to be on the same wireless channel, both using the same encryption settings, and there aren't any ip conflicts happening, since the 3205 is set to an unclaimed ip in the same space.
I have two matching N300 Belkin routers. The cable modem feeds into modem1 and modem1 feeds into modem2. I get a good wireless connection on modem1. Modem2 shows up on a wireless scan and it accepts the password. It however will not connect.

Currently, we only use cables to connect to the router because we haven't been bothered to setup wireless. However, there's a curious problem where the moment we connect more than 2 devices at a time, the router loses connection to the internet. To be precise, all LEDs are on, except wireless (d'uh) and Internet.
All involved computers run Win7.
So my ISP (Telus) recently replaced our old router with a ZyXEL VSG1432. I'm currently having a huge lag issue when my roommates laptop is connected to our network. He is connected via wireless, I'm wired. So I did some searching around and I think i can solve this by limiting his bandwidth with QoS settings. I'm getting conflicting information here though. After logging into the router there are no QoS options yet according to ZyXEL's website url...This router should have the settings available. Is it possible that Telus does something to remove this feature? Is there some not so obvious way to enable QoS? Is there some other way to limit the bandwidth?

I've tried setting it up before, but haven't managed to get it working, so I gave up.I have DHCP set up, beginning at 192.168.1.16. View 6 Replies View RelatedSeveral times a day our router will lose its connection to the internet (the internet light goes off, while the wireless signal stays on). All the computers in the house lose connection to the network while this happens. It will usually happen two or more times right after each other, so the computers can re-connect for a few seconds and then the connection will drop again. Eventually, after this repeats a few times, everything returns to normal.We've tried swapping cables, microfilters and 3 different routers (though all the same model). We tried the test socket, but the same problem happens. An engineer came to test the line but said he couldn't detect any problems. We have good download/upload speeds while the router stays connected and no noise on the phone line. I'm fed up of going in circles with the ISP tech support so I came here instead...One other thing I tried was OpenDNS, but that made no difference either...

I am trying to access the internet trough my WRT610N connected to a ZyXEL P-2601HN provided by my ISP.
I have the WRT610 all setup and working, but I cannot connect to the internet. The WRT610N is a the latest firmware version.
The WRT610 is connected (Internet) by cable to the Zyxel (one of the four ports)with a cat.5E patch cable.
the wireless is so much better on the WRT610N than the ZyXel.

I have tried to SSH to the switch using PuTTY from Windows and native SSH from Linux/Unix clients, but nothing happens.
