I'm using a Thomson Technicolor 587nV3. I need to change my NAT status from strict to open. So I can play MW3 online and connect to my friends online games and so I can host multiplayer matches. I have windows 7 laptop to do any of the steps required. I've tried to bind my routers cone through Winscript but without any luck perhaps I done it wrong

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I use wireless internet because I don't have access to a phone jack in this room; therefore I can't use a ethernet connection.This is entirely random in nature and doesn't seem to be affected by anything I do (Disabling/Enabling firewall, forwarding the appropriate ports, creating a firewall exception and restarting modem/computer. It will be OPEN during a game, and then my wireless connection icon (signal bars) on the task tray will show a little yellow caution sign and then it will disconnect from the network, forcing me to open the list of available networks and reconnect. After this happens, my NAT will change to strict, and thus far I haven't been able to make it OPEN again. I'm at my wits ends here, nothing I do seems to have any effect at all on my NAT type.

When I log in to the modem's IP (192.168.1.254?) through a browser, I only get one task available, that is "Check connectivity for this internet service". As far as I know, I should have some management options, like for example to block websites, to limit internet service for certain devices etc... Does anybody knows why I don't have these options? Could it be a restriction from the Internet Service Provider?

I have used a program called simple port forwarding and i've also manually added the port seeing if theres a difference, but every time i check my port which is 25565 for a minecraft server it says either failed or not open etc.. I checked netstat -an and it showed it was listening to my ip address and port 25565.

I tried this site [URL] and that didnt work(I only have one xbox 360 btw). Nothing has worked for me and every time I mess with something it screws up the internet so I have to set it up to the previous defaults. I know how to access my router I just need to know what to enable, disable, or add to the router.

When I wanted to change my IP i just disconnected and reconnected a dial up connection that does the job instantly! (a wan miniport + a batch file to disconnect/recoannect with my password and username)Few days ago i bought a new modem/router (TP-LINK TS-W8951NS)Before that all I knew was that if I wanna change the ip address (if I have a router) was a batch file with commands ipconfig /release/renew.I now know that this changes the ip of my PC not the global IP! So how would I change it without restarting the router? (When i change something in my router interface page (PVC1.2.3....etc) my IP changed instantlybut how do I do this without accessing the router, like commands and a batch file etc? I just found out that my global IP changed on its own after like 30-60 min :S why is that! and to do so manually???

Every game i have somehow manages to open the UDP ports it needs without me having to configure my router. Yet when i check to see if those ports are open (prior to starting the programs) they always come back as blocked or closed. Now I'm currently working on a UDP Internet program and need to know how to do the same thing - open ports on a router without having to make the customer configure their routers. I'm THINKING that other programs start with a TCP/IP connection on the desired port and that opens the UDP port. Is this the answer or is there another method used?

I have tried port forwarding both xbox's, just my xbox, just my dad's xbox etc.. I have tried DMZ on one with or without the other on Port Forwarding. I have turned UPNP on I have it so the filtering is set to endpoint independent . I have tried without . I have even tried port triggering today. I have manually set static ip addresses on both the xbox and the router. I even have the most recently upgraded firmware. Now... How do I get TWO Xbox 360's on OPEN NAT ? However all the other lights stay on, it's just the internet light.It only happens for around 5-10 minutes and then after troubleshooting, disconnecting and reconnecting it's back up.I've scanned my computer for viruses and malware and nothing has come up, this is happening reguarly now about every 30-45 minutes when i'm on my pc.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was previously with sky and never faced any bother with my wireless broadband. Recently to my regret we moved broadband (amongst other utilities)to Utility Warehouse (UTW) who's broadband is through Telecom Plus. Anyway since joining with them I have had no end of bother with intermittent internet connection. Sometimes we get a stationary green broadband light then after a little while then we get a flashing green broadband light. We are constantly either pin resetting the router or switching it on and off at the rear, where it will work for a small amount of time then connection is lost again. The router that they have given us is a technicolor tg582n Pro. We have had two of these as originally we thought that the router could be faulty but obviously that is not the problem as even the second one is dropping our connection. We bought another filter incase that was the problem and even tried plugging router directly into phone box and still didnt work. Utility Warehouse have been about as much use as a chocolate teapot and we are so <unhappy> that we are paying for a service that does not work? They said that our cordless phones could be interfering with the signal? Is this maybe the case and the phones are running on same channel as router thus causing interference? We had these same phones when we with sky and they never caused interference with our broadband. I was going to try connecting my laptop via ethernet cable to router. Sometimes the landline crackles (since UTW installed a new landline & new tel number) so it could even be that? UTW will not send an enginneer out to check their line. we are at our wits end, about to cancel their broadband and go back to reliable sky.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a 1 month old SG200-26P - the green status LED is blinking constantly (> 30 minutes), I cannot access the webGUI, nor is it responding to ping. I have tried resetting via holding reset for > 10 seconds with no effect, the status/activity LEDs are still illuminating against all connected ports, excluding any of the PoE ports which are running a couple of cisco IP phones. I've tried accessing the device via both the static IP I configured, and the default IP.
I have disconnected all ports, then powered on the device, but same results...Do I have a dead switch? Anything I can do other than return for warranty claim which is going to be last resort due holiday period and leaving the customer offline for extended period...
