Ok, so i never had problems with this before until i reformatted my computer. I have used a program called simple port forwarding and i've also manually added the port seeing if theres a difference, but every time i check my port which is 25565 for a minecraft server it says either failed or not open etc.. I checked netstat -an and it showed it was listening to my ip address and port 25565.
View 6 RepliesAOL are a complete waste of time and space in my opinion as for one you cannot understand what there tech support is saying and even when you email there tech support they seem to answer with a totally different answer to my questions.I have just installed a pci card ethernet connection on my pc windows xp now all I want to now do is connect and configure my router on the internet, I currently use aol dial.bb broadband adsl connection so far there are no connections from the router connected to my pc as i am still using a bt voyager 105 modem.When i did connect the ethernet cable to my pc and into the router also i connected the adsl cable into the back of the router but aol have not explained how to connect to the internet to configure this router and get it to work.

I want to us the Thomson SpeedTouch TG587nv2 (O2 Wireless box IV) as a secondary wireless repeater. I can't use a ethernet cable between them. I want to make a wireless bridge or use WDS.

When I log in to the modem's IP (192.168.1.254?) through a browser, I only get one task available, that is "Check connectivity for this internet service". As far as I know, I should have some management options, like for example to block websites, to limit internet service for certain devices etc... Does anybody knows why I don't have these options? Could it be a restriction from the Internet Service Provider?

I also have a few servers with services I need to expose to outside the network (RDP and some websites) where the external port is not the same as the LAN port. I could accomplish this with my previous router using port forwarding and it looks like I can do the same here on the RV220W but I can't quite get it to work successfully.
We currently have the XG1 through XG4 ports on our SG500X switch setup in a LAG with the Cisco 10G-FiberOptics. Everything is working fine,however in the web UI under Port Management->Port Settings the "Port Speed" is listed as Unknown. All other ports report the speed correctly. We have 2 SG500X switches configured this way and both are reporting the same Uknown speed.

My isp seems to be using a Transparent DNS proxy and I tested DeleGate on a windows PC and opendns works but I would like to set my router to forward all 53 udp to 5353 udp on to 208.67.222.220 so that opendns can work on ipod,ipad and smartphone etc, I have tried to use the following command to set the router to forward from port 53 to 5353 but no luck:

I have Thomson Tg585 v7 router, when trying to add new game application to set the ports for GW2 my router just restart by it self, and i can't add the application even if i do it fast it won't take any name i try for it,even tho i did add ports for BF3 like 2months ago and it worked fine.

Every game i have somehow manages to open the UDP ports it needs without me having to configure my router. Yet when i check to see if those ports are open (prior to starting the programs) they always come back as blocked or closed. Now I'm currently working on a UDP Internet program and need to know how to do the same thing - open ports on a router without having to make the customer configure their routers. I'm THINKING that other programs start with a TCP/IP connection on the desired port and that opens the UDP port. Is this the answer or is there another method used?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have a single HP 2810 switch being used for an iSCSI SAN.We want to replace it with dual higher end switches.But we've got another SAN to also setup now - Dell Equallogic PS6010E - that has 10gb iSCSI SFP+ ports.Can the 4 x SFP+ uplink ports on the Dell PowerConnect PCT5548 or the HP 3800-48G-4SFP+ switch be used for just the 10gb iSCSI, while the other 48 handle the 1gb iSCSI?We were told the uplink ports don't have buffering, making them bad ports for iSCSI traffic and only useful as uplinks to another switch.We only need 8 x 10gb ports (4 for 2 servers, and 4 for the Equallogic SAN), so if the above would work, it would probably save us $10,000 from having to buy a separate 24 port dedicated 10gb switch to handle it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a new laptop today, unfortunately, it doesnt have a Firewire port and i want to use it for video editing.But i figured no problem really, i'll just capture on my desktop that i have been previously using to edit on, using Premiere pro to edit, but HDVsplit to capture, and then transfer the files over to the laptop using a USB or possibly trying to setup a home network.But when transferring files from the desktop onto the laptop via the router using ethernet cables, the speed is about 250 kb/s and when its the other way around, from the laptop to the desktop, the speed is 10 MB/s! However all the other lights stay on, it's just the internet light.It only happens for around 5-10 minutes and then after troubleshooting, disconnecting and reconnecting it's back up.I've scanned my computer for viruses and malware and nothing has come up, this is happening reguarly now about every 30-45 minutes when i'm on my pc.

I looked up how to forward ports -- and even called an AT&T representative -- and I am sure that I forwarded them correctly. I'm trying to host a Minecraft Server. I forwarded port 25565 in TCP and in UDP. After that wouldn't work, the AT&T representative said that the traffic was being blocked from my side. I then checked my Windows Firewall and allowed all proper applications -- Minecraft and Minecraft Server. When that wouldn't work, I went in an manually added exceptions to Windows Firewall for TCP - 25565 and UDP - 25565 Inbound and the same for Outbound. Nothing.I have tried to check the ports in DMZ mode with Windows Firewall disabled -- they are still timing out. What should I do?

To let people connect to your Minecraft server, you need to set a static IP and forward the port 25565. I have followed all of the tutorials for that on this site to the letter, and yet all I can do is make people in my network able to connect. Now before you say this has nothing to do with you guys, I also want to point out that the port checker tool says that port is closed, on both UDP and TCP. For some reason following these guides only opens my port to the network that connects through the router, either wirelessly or wired. So therefore any port checking tools or sites say that it is closed. I have checked my firewalls, turned them off, uninstalled them and that doesn't work. And no, people can't connect through the network unless I forward the ports, so I am actually doing something when I try to forward them. I am running Windows Vista x64-bit

I have a problem trying to forward ports needed for steam: my connection to internet looks like this Cisco epc3212 cable modem -> netgear wnr3500v2 ->my pc, all via ethernet cable I set up static ip for my pc and forwarded ports in router but after checking results on web port scanners it only changed from timed out to closed. I have no firewalls, neither on my pc or router, i called my isp and they told me they don't block any ports. I have windows 7.
