I have Thomson Tg585 v7 router, when trying to add new game application to set the ports for GW2 my router just restart by it self, and i can't add the application even if i do it fast it won't take any name i try for it,even tho i did add ports for BF3 like 2months ago and it worked fine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedA Thomson TG585 v7 (Modem + WiFi Router) receiving a DSL connection and Providing internet access on two interfaces connection :
1- WiFi : to connect portable devices at my home.
2- 4 Ethernet ports : to connect my desktops.
One of these ports on my Thomson is connected to a D-link unmanaged switch to provide extended wired connections. From this unmanaged 4 ports switch one port is connected to my neighbors in another building through UTP, and connected to a D-link DIR 605-L WiFi router, the IP address of the DIR 605-L is 192.168.1.77 and the IP address of my local Thomson is 192.168.1.254 which means they are in the same network. I need to access the DIR 605-L WiFi router from my my home where I am connected directly to Thomson router through UTP cable, I am not able to do that !! , while also I can't even ping the DIR 605-L IP 192.168.1.77.
My old router recently died and my ISP was kind enough to offer this Thomson one free. But ever since I got it, my PCs cant see each other on the homegroup. They can all get onto the internet - and by using programs like Dropbox or Teamviewer I can share info from one to the other- but I'd like to get my homegroup working again, Both my PCs are running Win 7, connecting wirelessly to the network. When trying to tracert from one to the other it gives this message: Tracing route to GLaptop.lan [192.168.1.79] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 GDesktop.lan [192.168.1.82] reports: Destination host unreachable. The problem persists when firewalls on both PCs are disabled, and I've attempted to delete the homegroup on both PCs and re-create it.

When I log in to the modem's IP (192.168.1.254?) through a browser, I only get one task available, that is "Check connectivity for this internet service". As far as I know, I should have some management options, like for example to block websites, to limit internet service for certain devices etc... Does anybody knows why I don't have these options? Could it be a restriction from the Internet Service Provider?

I have a Thomson TG585 v8 router that my laptop, iPad and iPhone connect to no problem but my iPad/iPhone won't talk to my laptop.. I want to be able to use my iPad to remote in to my laptop to watch movies etc. Network sharing is on the laptop and I've checked that all devices are on the same network..I can't ping the iPad or iPhone from the laptop either.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy isp seems to be using a Transparent DNS proxy and I tested DeleGate on a windows PC and opendns works but I would like to set my router to forward all 53 udp to 5353 udp on to 208.67.222.220 so that opendns can work on ipod,ipad and smartphone etc, I have tried to use the following command to set the router to forward from port 53 to 5353 but no luck:

I used to have a Thomson st-330 USB modem for my ADSL network. When I wanted to change my IP i just disconnected and reconnected a dial up connection that does the job instantly! (a wan miniport + a batch file to disconnect/recoannect with my password and username)Few days ago i bought a new modem/router (TP-LINK TS-W8951NS)Before that all I knew was that if I wanna change the ip address (if I have a router) was a batch file with commands ipconfig /release/renew.I now know that this changes the ip of my PC not the global IP! So how would I change it without restarting the router? (When i change something in my router interface page (PVC1.2.3....etc) my IP changed instantlybut how do I do this without accessing the router, like commands and a batch file etc? I just found out that my global IP changed on its own after like 30-60 min :S why is that! and to do so manually???

I have used a program called simple port forwarding and i've also manually added the port seeing if theres a difference, but every time i check my port which is 25565 for a minecraft server it says either failed or not open etc.. I checked netstat -an and it showed it was listening to my ip address and port 25565.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI currently have 1 cat 5 jack at my tv/entertainment area and will be needing additional jacks to add gaming consoles,streaming video player and internet ready tv at the same location.The current jack installed at that location is coming from a D-Link 8 port Gigabit switch installed in a different room.The switch is at capacity,all ports are full,so no additional availability there.My question is how to expand port availability at the entertainment area.Is it possible to put another switch or hub at that connection?Would there be a conflict with cascading a switch from one to another? I have a 25 meg fiber optic incoming service,so there is plenty of speed and bandwith available to handle these componets.

I need to tear down an existing port-channel on a 3750X running c3750e-universalk9-mz.150-1.SE3.bin. This port channel is currently down down. It has three ports in it that will be added one each to three existing port-channels, I am assuming as long as the "channel-group" command is exactly the same as it is on the three existing port-channels I should be ok just adding the new port. One point to note is that the three existing port-channels all have three ports so this will be adding the fourth port to each port-channel. I know after reading that it is a best practice for load balancing to use either 2, 4, or 8 ports for a port-channel. Also what is the command to see all ports that are in a port channel?

I have a server which sits on the switch via a trunk link of four network cables (4 Gbps total)on which LACP is enabled. I'm having trouble connecting to the server using VNC from a computer on the network. It doesn't happen all the time though, it's just random.
On looking at the logs of the switch, I saw something unusual. The trunk that connects the switch to the server is constantly removing all the member ports and adding them back again after a few minutes interval. That causes the trunk link to flip on and off all the time. What could be the reason that's causing it to happen? I know it could be the network cable but I'm using brand new cables and the server also is brand new.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI went to go turn on my computer and it stopped at the loading screen where the blue square things are and I think it says windows seven with the flag above the loading bar.So I turned it off then back on and it flashed acer then a thing came up that apologized for the incomvience blah blah blah my computer waas shut down and I choose an appropriate actioan.It says safe modes which I clicked on then a bunch of stuff came up and it didn't do anything so then I just went to start windows normally.It went to the loading screen again then it just restarted the whole thing.

I'm having an issue with my wireless router and I don't think it's normal. Basically, I would be on my computer or laptop, generally browsing the Internet, and all of a sudden the Internet will stop working. A small yellow exclamation mark appears beside the wireless icon in the system tray. In order to resolve this, I go downstairs and turn the router off and then turn it back on again. When the router loses the connection, the light on the router goes out (the one that says Internet), yet everything else is on as it should be. Restarting the router seems to fix this problem. I just can't understand why I have to do this at home when the wireless router at work never has an issue. It's literally on 24/7 and handles everything from laptops to iPhones and even iPads.
Is this normal for my router? I had this exact same issue with my previous one and so I ended up buying an N range router (the last one was G). The guide book says that you shouldn't ever turn it off as that could cause problems, but whenever it loses the Internet connection, I'm forced to restart it in order to get the connection back.

View 6 Replies View RelatedThis is a Sony Vaio E series laptop running Windows 7 that I've had for close to a year now. The problem began about two days ago with the wireless connection getting dropped randomly (no signals found). The first few times it happened I ran Troubleshoot and it fixed itself, and picked the connection back up. Yesterday when it happened again the troubleshoot failed. I check my router connections, reset it a few times, checked my other computer's connections (all fine) then finally tried restarting the laptop. When it came back up it connected to the internet again. This has since happened three times, and each time I have to completely restart the laptop to get the wireless signal back.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought this Tenda wifi router and connected it.It's a chinese one and the user interface is not much friendly. It works fine but sometimes if u play around with it u will lose the settings you inserted in to it and you will need to reconfigure it.
My problem is my ISP seems to renew the IP's issued to their customers automatically every 10 hrs from the last login. But every other router keeps the connection alive but my router doesn't. It needs to be restarted in order to get the internet back online.simply said,u need to restart the router every 10 hrs.
BTW Never buy Tenda routers.
As soon as I set it up it would keep restarting every 3-5 minutes. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Vostro 3460 laptop with Windows 7, 64-bit. My wireless driver is Dell Wireless 1704.802.11b/g/n. I just got this computer in December, and it worked fine for a couple of months, then about a month ago, I started having these problems.
Whenever I turn off or put my computer to sleep and turn it back on, my wireless connection doesn't work. The wireless indicator light on the front of the laptop is not on, and I push the FN+F2 button (which is supposed to turn on wireless), but it does nothing. I checked under the device manager, and the wireless adapter is not there.
After the first time I ran the diagnostics, I reinstalled the driver. The I restarted the computer, and the wireless was working. However, that night I turned of the computer, and when I turned it back on the next morning, the wireless was not working again.Other things I have discovered that sometimes work as a temporary fix:
Sometimes, if I wait 5 or so minutes, the wireless indicator light will come on, and then I can restart my computer and connect to a network, but most of the time, I can wait for hours and it never comes on.If I start in computer into safe mode or the BIOS screen or diagnostic screen, sometimes the wireless will start working after I exit that mode and start into normal operating. For example, one of the times that I ran the PSA diagnostics, the wireless started working afterwards, but stopped working again the next day. Another time, I started the computer in safe mode with networking to see if that would work, and the wireless did not work while I was in safe mode, but then I restarted the computer in normal mode, and the wireless came on.
One time, I went under Device Manager and did "Scan for Hardware Changes." After that, the wireless indicator light came on, and I restarted the computer and was able to connect to a network.However, all of these solutions were temporary, and some of these solutions only work one time but not again.I called Dell Support a couple of weeks ago, and they said that my antivirus program might be stopping the wireless driver from starting up. I have Trend Micro, which came with the computer.
The problem i'm having is that i'm using a 100gb capped internet plan, but after 1-2 weeks it gets all used up. After checking to see who's accessing the internet there's 2 unknown mac addresses who are constantly accessing the internet. Whenever this happens, the internet becomes considerably slower (i'm guessing they're torrenting or downloading off our internet).
I've even tried changing the wpa password but they're somehow still accessing the internet. So i've been looking for a way to ban mac adresses but i can't seem to find the option on the router.

I really don't know what to do! Is there some kind of command i can type in the command prompt or something to ban mac address manually?

So, I have my Thomson wireless router for 2 years now and I've been using it with no problems at all. Suddenly I got dissconnected two weeks ago and it would not let me connect with anything. I could SOMETIMES see my home network in the list but I couldn't connect to it, although I could easily connect to other wireless networks. I tried reseting the router, changing the encryption to WEP and all that few days ago and after several tries I managed to access it (I don't know what happened) but after less than a day the same problem occured and since then I've been trying to reconnect. Yesterday I took it to the local ISP representative and he "fixed" it although I'm sure he just reseted it and changed the ancryption type and the WPA-PSK encryption key(something which I did MANY times before). When I came home I had the same problem with a slight improvement, now I could see my network in the list of wireless networks at all time. When I try to connect, the window "Windows can not connect to .....Diagnose the problem..." pops up.
It automaticly connected few times but once I tried opening the router access IP or any other webpage it just disconnected me. I tried accessing the network with my mobile(wifi) phone and I still couldnt, which made me think in the beggining that the problem is not in my computer. The router is close to my laptop and my laptop is working just fine and can connect to other networks. I've never had such problem before and I'm using the router for 2 years.
I installed the thomson router, the process was sucessfully completed however the laptop could not automatically renew the IP address and the DNS server address???
