View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a multifunctional printer epson cx8300 and have it connected to a print server TP-LINK TL-PS310U in a hope that every PCs on the network can share the printer to do printing and scanning. When I did a test to check if I can send a job to the printer, I could actually print it through the print server. However, the problem now is I can not scan a document. When I went to open windows Fax and Scanner window, unable to see any scanner there. So my question is whether this is the limitation of the epson printer itself or the print server or the scanners do not work on the network.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a WRT54G that has served us well for several years, but I needed a network connection in another part of the house, both wired for TV, and wireless for downstairs. So I ran an ethernet cable through the house and connected it to my new E1200. It's connected to Port 1, not the Internet port. The TV plugs into Port 2, and my Apple TV to port 3. So far so good, TV and Apple TV appear to work fine. Wireless is where I'm having problems, the wireless signals between the two routers appear on Wifi Analyzer I'm using. Both appear strong in signal for a second, then they disappear, then they appear again for a second, then they disappear. So the wifi's signals appear, then disappear and this cycle continues.
The WRT54G is setup with DHCP, channel 6.
IP Address: 192.168.1.1 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 DHCP Server: Enabled Start IP Address: 192.168.1.100 End IP Address: 192.168.1.149
The E1200 DHCP is disabled, channel 11, 20mhz.
Router IP Address: 192.168.1.2 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 DHCP Server: Disabled Start IP Address: 192.168.1.1 (DHCP disabled) End IP Address: 192.168.1.50 (DHCP is disabled)
I've tried both routers named the same, and then tried 2 different names. I've rebooted them as well after making changes.
I am having a problem trying to figure out how to add a new ASA 5505 to an existing network. My current network is:Cable Modem > Linksys > 48 port switch With multiple hosts residing on the 192.168.0.x network. Now i know that the ASA comes default with 192.168.1.1 on the inside interface and i want to change that to 192.168.0.1. I have tried to do this thru ASDM using the wizard and manually. Once i hit ok for it to write the config, it gives me an error that it didnt take. I then lose connection to the ASA and have to hard boot it to get it back.I am trying to do this without my external connection connected and i have a laptop connected to the ASA on port 0/2 with an IP address of 192.168.1.75.Do i need to connect my internet connection to it first and then run the wizard? I was hoping to get it configured for my existing network before i plugged in the internet connection to limit my downtime. This ASA came with 6.4.1 ASDM and 8.2 OS installed. i was able to upgrade the ASDM to 7.X but when i go to update the OS to 9.1, i get an error that i am not registered to use cryptographic software. Dont know where i need to register to get it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've A brother HL-22580DW Wireless Printer, and two HP desktops (Both running Win7).
Desktop 1- via cable modem and router (Belkin),
Desktop 2- feeding off the routers broadcast,
I've gone through the documentation and a whole bunch of loops trying to figure out how to set it up. PC 1-There's a wireless setup wizard on the printer itself, that scans for SSIDs. The printer sees the router, and instructs me to push the 'WPC' button on the router, which I do. I head back over to the printer, confirm (ok)it attempts to connect, but it always says " Connection Failed ", prints out an error sheet stating that there is no wireless access point or router with "WPC" enabled.i was informed to "ad hoc" and enable the "WLAN" option on the printer, then denoting its own settings, giving it a name,( for testing purposes no password). This was a success.
PC 2- with the wireless adapter, it "sees" the printer, but when i connect to it the wireless bars are never stabilized ( bars appear, blue circle revolves) and while that occurs, I'm able to print from this computer but i'm forced to disconnect from the routers broadcast, leaving that computer netless, and still the connection never appears to be"stabilized".When messing with computer one,The printer never "sees" the Belkin router though it recognizes the SSID prior. with the second printer, I can print documents but I lose net connectivity switching over to the wireless printers broadcast, and the bars at the bottom right aren't 'stabilized'.I've tried disabling the firewall, on both computers, and within the router itself?
I am a soon to be network admin and have never set up a network to an existing network. Steps you need to add a new location to a company's network. For example if they are using 8 Building with 7600 Routers and 6500 and you need another building and they are using MPLS or Private Network, or Internet.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using this router for several years with a wireless connection to an iPhone, and wired connections to a computer running Windows Vista, a computer running Windows XP (only connected occasionally and never during these tests), a NetTalk telephone ATA, and a Brother printer. I just got a Windows 8 laptop with wireless. I found that the laptop wouldn't connect wired until I cycled power to the router and rebooted the laptop. OK, that's working to get the laptop to the internet. Vista and iPhone are still working. Printer won't work? Use an IP scanner and the printer is just not there although the light on the router is solid for it. Turn off laptop and cycle power and everything else is back to normal. Let's try wireless. Laptop will not connect. Is it something with the printer? Turn off printer, cycle power, and reboot and laptop wireless now works. Turn on printer and printer doesn't work again. Unplug ATA (hey, it's something to try), cycle power, reboot, everything except telephone is working! Plug ATA back in, no telephone. Cycle power. Back to square one with everything working except laptop. Turn off iPhone, reboot laptop, laptop now OK but printer has disappeared again. Turn iPhone back on and it won't connect either. Cycle power with printer off and everything else works again.

It worked perfectly. Now I have upgraded to a new MacBook Air. The internet connection works fine, but printing won't work. Same printer. Same connections.
Do I need to refresh/reboot something? My new Mac has the printer driver. I get a message "printer if offline" "printer is not connected" -I feel like the router now does not recognize the new Mac's command to print. The older macbook air still works and prints wirelessly. The new one does not.
I have a Brother HL-2270DW wireless printer. The install seems to go OK , and the printer gets an IP (DHCP) address from the router. But the installation software cannot find the printer to complete the installation. The printer settings (printed after pressing GO button three times) show that the printer has an address, but it will not respond to a ping.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI configured the HPLaserJet 4050 in my home for two laptops today.
Hardware involved in Setup:
Dlink Wireless Router for the internet connection at home. Two laptops with internet connectivity over wifi - needing the connection to the printer. One HP laserjet 4050 series printer (to be setup) Problem statement: Wanted to connect the Printer over the LAN cable to the wireless router and the laptops should be configured with the printer settings so as to print over wifi network.
Step-1
Power up the printer. Should warm up with the display showing 'READY' message. Do put A4 papers in the printer tray. Connect a one side of the LAN cable to the printer and the other to the router. In the printer : Click the 'Menu' button on the printer. Navigate till you see 'Information Menu' in display. Click the 'Item' button till you see the 'Print Configuration' in display. Now click 'Select' button. The printer should print two pages of printer configuration with the IP address also mentioned on sheet 1.
Step-2
Now from one of the laptops, ping the IP address from your computer system to ensure the connectivity to the printer within the network. Now follow these steps to add the printer:Go to Control Panel / Printers Click Add Printer Select Local (No automatic detect) Create a new port Select the Standard TCP/IP port Enter in the IP address of the Printer Then add in the drivers when requested for the HP, Laserjet 4050 PS. Now finish. It prompts to print the test page. Go ahead and print one to ensure that the printer in setup. Now repeat the Step-2 for any number of laptops in the home. All should get configured and work fine and should be able to print. No need to test for each and waste paper.
Now you can enjoy printing wireless and schedule multiple jobs and users also without efforts.

This is the cisco description of the scanner mode:Scanner—Functions as a network monitoring device. In the Scanner mode, the access point does not accept associations from clients. View 1 Replies View RelatedThe company I work for has a system that our employees clock in on called UNIX (ancient program). I have an iSSH app on my iPhone that I can now log in to as long as I am on our wireless network here at our office. However, I have to travel alot and usually I'm gone during the day that all our time corrections have to be adjusted and turned in. I just log into my Unix program and adjust it...however if I'm out of town I have to do the entire thing over the phone with a lady in our book keeping department and it's incredibly annoying and time consuming. So we're looking for a way to be able to access our system through my iSSH app while on cellular network rather than being here at the office. My administrator wants me to find this out so that all our department heads can do this. I don't have any way of getting our internet provider to set up a port forward, so the only information I have to work with is our static IP address, our default gateway, our subnet mask, and the primary and secondary dns servers.
