View 1 Replies View Relatedmy newer laptop that I have only had for a few months will not by any means connect to my router at home. However, it does connect to pretty much any other router wherever we go. And there kicker is, the desktop I am on now, my phone, and pretty much everything else, WILL connect to my router (both n and g wireless devices). So, here are the details: My laptop is an HP Pavilion G Series, running Windows 7. My router is an N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router (WNDR3700). The computer I am currently using (and do the router config on) is running Windows 7 as well. The router has both a g and n setup (WPA2-PSK [AES] pass). Passwords for both n and g are the same, so there is never any confusion.
View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently I bought a ASUS G Series G53SW-XN1 to replace my old laptop and it uses a Atheros AR9002WB-1NG wireless network adapter to connect to my network. On my older laptop I can get the full download speeds on my network of 500-600 kbs, but on my asus I can only acheive between 70-120 kbs. There should be little to no interference between me and my router and it sits only about 15 ft behind me.
My router is an old linksys wireless router which only transmits a B signal. I know wireless B is considered slow but it works perfectly fine for what I use it for and it works on my other laptop.

View 1 Replies View Relatedwe had a problem with a customer wlan in our warehouse (cannel overlapping). The troubleshoot needed a long time. For the future if requipred in case of problems i want to configure one access point in the warehouse as a scanner (please find picture in the attachement). The Autonomous cisco 1242 is now configured as scanner but i can't see any logfiles? Where can i find these informations. This is the cisco description of the scanner mode:Scanner—Functions as a network monitoring device. In the Scanner mode, the access point does not accept associations from clients. It continuously scans and reports wireless traffic it detects from other wireless devices on the wireless LAN. All access points can be configured as a scanner.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just installed 2 new units and neither will connect to a new HP gigabit switch - no link light, other devices can connect to the switch OK. Their gigabit ethernet settings are set to auto for duplex and speed. I also tried forcing one of them to full duplex and 1000 Mbps which didn't work either. They're both powered by POE injectors. If I connect them to a 10/100 switch they work fine.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded our controllers to the latest version 7 software, as I read this was one of the requirements to get them to connect. But I am not having any luck getting into a controller. Normally I plug them in to the network, they pop into the controller listed as something like AP5057.a844.xxxx and then I can finish configuring them, but a static IP on them, etc. This is the first of this model AP I have tried to deploy, so I am wondering what is different with these. or what I might be missing in the default config in the WLAN controllers. Niether of which are set to "Master" either.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a multifunctional printer epson cx8300 and have it connected to a print server TP-LINK TL-PS310U in a hope that every PCs on the network can share the printer to do printing and scanning. When I did a test to check if I can send a job to the printer, I could actually print it through the print server. However, the problem now is I can not scan a document. When I went to open windows Fax and Scanner window, unable to see any scanner there. So my question is whether this is the limitation of the epson printer itself or the print server or the scanners do not work on the network.

I can't find anything on the scanner that would cause this.
Im working for a client at the moment and I've had to setup a network printer for them, I've got 4 Windows 7 machines easily printing over the network to this printer that is connected wirelessly but they want one of there machines to use the scanning functionality of the printer. The scanner doesn't show up at all in the local network devices like the printer does and to be honest i don't really have any experience with scanning over a network to a windows 7 machine, but this printer does support scan to ftp so my idea is to setup a small ftp server on the windows 7 machine with a folder to stored scans on the desktop or something, then put the details of the server in to the printer making it as easy as possible for the customer to scan stuff and just get it from the folder on the desktop, i could also share this folder over the network for anyone to open and get a scan if needs be.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe use SecurityMetrics as our vendor for PCI compliance scanning. Of all our servers, only the video server fails their scan, and this is their result: "This scan is inconclusive. Though your server had open ports, we were unable to connect to any of them successfully. There is a high probability that some type of firewall or scan-detection software is blocking us from accurately scanning your server. Please configure any firewall or software that would interfere with our scans to allow all traffic from SecurityMetrics" Our streaming video server is our only public-facing server that has port tcp/udp 1755 open (for the mms protocol). All our other servers behind this firewall pass the test, but they only have standard email and http ports open. I am assuming that their scan of port 1755 triggers some sort of threat detection on the ASA. (I have "Basic Threat Detection" enabled only.)

Recently I installed connectify because my uni flat only had one wired outlet, and I wanted to use my xbox at the same time. It worked perfectly, but when I returned home I found my laptop could no longer connect to the home network, it just says it cannot connect, but all the over devices in the house work. My laptop can still connect to the internet via an ethernet cable but this isnt practical at home. I've uninstalled the connectify program, and tried my best to make sure I got rid of all the stuff it's done, but still my problem persists
