I have my wireless network name set up and enabled. However when I try to go wireless without the ethernet cable, it does not show in the list of available networks for me to connect to. I lost this while trying to set up the wireless connection for my printer. I have DHCP enabled.
View 1 RepliesI am currently running a Cisco 4402 Lan controller, I have a Wlan that is running unsecured and i wanted to add a simple web policy log in, so i set up an NPS server on a local DC. I have the two talking . when i go to login at the web login page I get the Error Login Error. When i look at the NPS logs it says: "Network Policy Server granted full access to a user because the host met the defined health policy" . So it has to be in my Cisco set up somewhere seems pretty simple
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I was using my Linksys router, I had no difficulties setting up Windows File Sharing on my computers but since I upgraded to the DIR-655, file sharing have hardly worked. Sometimes I could get one of the computers access files on another, but not the other away around. Most of the time, none of the computers have access to the files on any of the other computers. Two of the computers run Windows XP and another one runs Windows Vista. All computers are on the same workgroup and able to connect to the internet through the router. When calling D-Link tech support, I am told that they dont support file sharing and that I had to contact each computer's manufacture's tech support on the instructions on setting up the file sharing (each computer is from a different manufacture). One of the tech supports did drop the slight hint that I needed to recreate the home network, but when I tried to do that, all I could find is the settings to connect to the router (which I had set up when I installed the new router) and to enable file sharing (which is already done) and to assign the workgroup, which they were all are already assigned to the same group.

When entering config wlan max-associated-clients max-clients wlan-id we got
"WLAN/Guest-Lan/remote-lan is enabled. disable to configure max associated clients."
GUI doesn't show that message, should it? In GUI, Is it necesary to disable WLAN before too?
I've been asked to create 2 wireless networks for guest access. They are to be used by clients of 2 different companies and they have asked for the website of each company to automatically open as a landing page. e.g.
-WLAN1 - password is companyname1 - landing page = www.companyname1.com
-WLAN2 - password is companyname2 - landing page = www.companyname2.com
Is this possible with our 5508 WLC? I have googled it and can see that you can set a web auth page but I need different landing pages depending on which WLAN is connected to.
I would like to setup a 2504 to have one Guest WLAN and one Staff WLAN with a controller port for each WLAN connected to different devices.
I would prefer to connect the WLC Guest port to an ASA 5510 and the WLC Staff port to an internal 2960S switch. Will this work? I haven't setup a 2500 series controller previously.
im trying to get my linksys router to work and it wont. when i have it hardwired PC to cable modem it works fine but i try to plug in the router and the internet stops working. i can see the router and connect to it but it says no internet access. samething happens on both my PC running Xp and dell laptop running win7.
View 12 Replies View RelatedWe have a customer who has a WAG120N as their broadband wireless router, and we've sold them some new equipment, part of which is another WAG120N as our salesperson didn't realise they had one.They have a section of the building which the current WAG120N will not reach. Reading around this forum, it seems that I can give the second WAG120N a different static IP on the LAN and use it to expand the range of the WLAN.If I've read correctly, I need to make all the wireless stuff exactly the same except to use different wireless channels on each router. But what do I do with the DHCP server on the second WAG? Is it fair to say that the clients won't suddenly jump to a different IP because they won't have a cause to request a new one? I read one comment that suggested the second should be configured for DHCP relay, and another which contradicted this. Presumably I just don't configure the ADSL on the second WAG as that will only connect to the LAN.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI accidentally pressed the front panel button labeled "Cisco Systems" on my WRT54GL wireless router. The button turned to a flashing white which I understand means that it entered SecureEasySetup mode. I then power cycled the router and the front panel button turned back to solid orange. However, now the "WLAN" lamp flashes a lot more often than before even when there are no wireless clients connected. It doesn't seem to be affecting connectivity or performance of my Ethernet connected devices or wireless connected devices. I re-entered my SSID and security key. That didn't curtail the increased flashing of the WLAN lamp. I also tried pressing the front panel button for 5 seconds. This only cleared my wireless settings.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe E1200 is connected to a router (BEFSR41) that is acting as DHCP server. So I have disabled the DHCP Server option on the E1200. Once configured, the wireless connection is working by unexpectedly only as guest user (I tried via PC XP, PC Win 7 and IPad) on the guest network. The problem is that once configured, the E1200 is no more reachable unless I reset it and I reconfigure it. If I try to access the IP 192.168.1.1, I get the setup page of the router (BEFSR41) and not the E1200. From another computer the IP Scan discover the E1200 as 192.168.1.103, but I am not able to reach it at that address.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI tried to extend the Range of the Guest WLAN of the E2000 with several different Access Points vom TP-Link. (Last try: TL-WA901D) The Access Point recognises the WLAN and sometimes it has a connection for a short time. But then the whole WLAN is breaking down, sometimes the Router E200 hangs up, also with the LAN connections. The E200 is connected to a sky-DSL Router and works fine when no additional access point is connected. In the web-Interface of the E2000 I cant setup any specific Guest-WLAN settings.

I own an WAG120N which after firmware 1.00.12 (currently installed on the device is 1.00.16) should allow LAN1 to be used as WLAN. This is true and I can use it to connect to the new provider.
However the speed when using LAN1 as WLAN on WAG120N is very slow: download 20Mbps and upload 10Mbps. The LED on LAN1 is orange instead of green as before. I have tested the ISP connection with an WRT160NL and the speeds are much faster: download/upload 87Mbps
just replaced a WRT54G with E4200. Most functions work well. 4 wireless computers (1 Macbook, 3 Win 7), 1 wireless android, 1 wired Win7 computer, 1 ethernet connected hard drive, 1 ethernet connected printer. All computers can ping router, access hard drive, access internet, ping android and ping Macbook.However, router, nor any computer, can't ping Win7 computers. Apparently IP based connections between WinX computers is blocked. My real applications are to Remote Desktop Connect from 1 Win7 computer to another, or to run a DLNA music server on 1 Win7 computer, accessed by another. (the LAN connected computer is the server, accessed by a wLAN client. All worked fine on WRT54G router, but can't connect thru E4200. When these apps failed, I tried PING, and that failed as well.All computer's IP addresses are properly served from E4200 via DHCP, and are visible thru the router's DHCP Reservation panel.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am experiencing one, possibly two problems with the X3000, firmware release v1.0.03:
1. When enabling guest mode, the internal network is not accessible via WLAN even for clients NOT connected via guest mode but regularly: Even non-guests but regularly connected clients can't access any internal IP but the router itself. netscan shows only the very client's IP and the router's. Only after switching guest mode entirely off, regularly connected clients can access interal IP again. netscan correctly shows the whole network. Obviously a firmware bug. BTW: Clients connected via cable do not experience this problems.
2. I am not sure about this, but after using the firmware built in "Reboot" button, the router reboots correctly. But for some reason, it is instable afterwards. It is operational for a few seconds but then reboots again. It keeps cycling. I could stop it by switching the router off and on again.
I have home network with my Linksys E-4200.
My HP Microserver (Ubuntu +Samba+Apache) is connected via LAN. I have notebook (Windows 7). To my server (FILE+WEB) I have access only when I connected via LAN cable. In windows 7 i see my server and have access to the files. Webserver works also properly: access with the name of the server in web browser.
But by WiFI connection, there is no access ! The server has the reserved local IP-address, like 192.168.1.200.
What should I do to solve it? By typing "192.168.1.200" i see the localhost page, but nothing more!
I use the WAP610N as an Accesspoint for only an small Mobilephone to WLAN Printer Network.My big Problem is that i have therefore no DHCP Server in this special small WLAN Network.And now i need an own DHCP Server from the Accesspoint side because otherwise i must use static IP Adresses in all Mobilephones to connect with the WLAN Network .In the WAP610 unfortunately there is only the choose between static IP Adress and IP Adress FROM an existing DHCP server .

Setting up a linksys router with dsl Modem.laptop direct to modem works router connected dhcp to laptop Eth. port 1 OK router to modem dhcp does not generate DNS but appears to give IP address. Result: can't connect to internet / diagnosis says cannot resolve ( google.com or yahoo.com etc.)

My current set up runs perfectly but the problem is, I have other devices in my home that require a WEP security key. My Airport Extreme is running on WPA but I don't want to lower it's security to WEP just for those devices. What I'm trying to do is create another separate network which has a WEP security key (Linksys WRT54G). So ultimately, I would like to set up two networks, one is the Airport Extreme and the other Linksys, which both run under the same WAN address provided by Time Warner Cable.
