The E1200 is connected to a router (BEFSR41) that is acting as DHCP server. So I have disabled the DHCP Server option on the E1200. Once configured, the wireless connection is working by unexpectedly only as guest user (I tried via PC XP, PC Win 7 and IPad) on the guest network. The problem is that once configured, the E1200 is no more reachable unless I reset it and I reconfigure it. If I try to access the IP 192.168.1.1, I get the setup page of the router (BEFSR41) and not the E1200. From another computer the IP Scan discover the E1200 as 192.168.1.103, but I am not able to reach it at that address.
I received a Linksys E1200 from a friend who careless tried to upload an incorrect configuration. After that the device became use full. It don't work at all.
I have 3 Wireless Devices connected to my Router which is a Ipad, Ipod Touch & laptop.I have 2 hard Wired conneted to my Router which is a ps3 and a Desktop. How can i have great speeds and reliable connection on all of them.
I have opened my NAT for xbox using Port Triggering , but I cannot open my NAT for the PC because it uses no ports!I cannot host a match using any MMO game , and I cannot host any MW3/Black Ops matches too!
Setting up new E1200 wireless router. Used the CD to setup network. It set up two networks: 1 secured and one unsecured guest network. Ican connect wirelessly to guest network no problem but it will not connect to the secured network using the correct security key (password).
I purchased E1200 and have a problem. I have static external IP but router configured to get IP automatically (reservation from ISP). When some one at home using internet I can commetc to the router using remote management. But when everybody out and no internet users at home I cannot connect to the router. I checked with other router from linksys (old one WAG45G or something like this) and it was the same. But it works great whith TP-Link routers.
I have a Panasonic Visio tv, I have a LINKsys E1200 that is connected to my Cable Internet. I have successfully connected the wireless to my laptop and have a guest network that has been tested and works as well. I bought a Sharp Blu Ray player that has wireless capability connected to the TV with HDMI cable and the LAN adapter is in the player. When I had the Blu Ray downstairs I had it connected to the LINKsys thru an ethernet cable and didn't use the adapter, but I wanted to take it upstairs and use it on that TV. CANNOT establish an internet connection?
I can't see where to set a user name on my E1200. I set a password for the web interface then it boots me out and I am promted for the password and username.I don't want to download and configure my router with some poorly written software for my mac; why can't I just do it all through the good old web interface???? I'm able to set everything else up fine but when i set the password I am basically rendering the web interface usless and have to reset the router!! (running Lion, latest build with 8gigs of ram and N wirless adaptor in lappy)
Ok, so I was given this router for free so I shouldn't complain but I do not see any speed increase over my 6 year old 54G rinning wrt, perhaps I need summin better than this $50 walmart special Getting about 10mps download which is also the theoretical max of G right)
I set my router to allow my xbox360's mac address, not knowing that it would kick out all of my other devices. So now I can't access my own router and I need to reset it. How do I do that?E1200 series linksys router. I'm looking for an ethernet cable and my installation disk right now to see if I can connect with the cable and maybe use something on the disk if I have to.
I replaced my broken modem with a new Motorola 3360 as recommended by my ISP. The new modem works fine connected directly to my PC. When connecting the modem to the Cisco E1200 router, the same one I had with the older modem, the E1200 says I'm not connected to the PC. I've triple checked the wired connections from the modem to the router and then to the PC. I've swapped out cables and verified that they all work when used directly from the modem to the PC. I'm thinking some settings from the old Westell modem are messing with the connectivity of the new E1200 router.
my wifi router is E1200 at first it works very fine but then when the time you unplugged it and turn it on again it won't work already i mean its working the lights are on and blinking but there's no wifi... why does it happen??? i don't understand...i have already did the 30-30-30 rule the hard reset thin but still nothing's change...
i'm having connection issues requiring frequent reboots of my router. it starts with internet slowdown to a crawl, then it times out and lastly the webinterface is not even responding when i try to access it to reboot. Requiring me to manually unplug. this happens once a day atleast.
Sometimes it recovers after a few minutes and get on the net.i've tried flashing, reflashing, re-reflashing , resetting , re-resetting, to no end. And all the usual tricks tech support ask to do.
i didn't use to have this problem before the firmware update 08/31/2012 Ver.2.0.04 (Build 1)
i would just like to flash to the previousl version and test if this still happens.
I have been attempting to set up a linksys wireless-n e1200 router on my hp p6-2007c (Windows 7 SP1, 64-bit) desktop pc for the last day and have exhausted everything i can think of. The previous router was a linksys WRT54G and it worked fine. However, upon setting up this new router i get a "no internet access" message accompanied by the little yellow triangle and the ability to still connect to my router via its ip address to alter its configuration. The connection status for the network and the internet is identical for all the laptops in my house. I originally attempted setting up the router using Cisco's setup program. At its conclusion, the setup program informs me that i am connected to the router, but my internet connection has been lost (even though it was never there) I have tried starting over from scratch by resetting the router back to its default settings and using a variety of different channels (Auto, 1, 6, and 11), frequencies, etc. I have uninstalled norton antivirus, disarmed the windows security programs, made sure of TCP/IP settings, rolled back, uninstalled, and finally updated firmware, uninstalled/reinstalled driver for wireless card, disabled/enabled the card itself, deleted all other previous network profiles still present in the "Manage Wireless Networks" screen, and probably some other suggestions i came across in this forum. They all failed with the same results, i.e. the ability to connect to the network locally and having no internet access.
I can connect to the guest account but it cannot resolve DNS addresses; how should the router be set up?
The regular (non-guest) account works as advertised. The E1200 is connected to my Verizon modem/router. I have tried disable/enable of DHCP on the E1200; I have tried setting the E1200 Static DNS 1 to my Verizon router IP address without success.
I just installed an E1200 router and used the CD to take care of the software work. I Cannot connect to it by WiFi. I still have to use a cable connection.
I want to prevent a wired pc with a static ip from accessing the internet on an e1200 router, but the computer does not show up in the list under "parental controls". I have tried adding it to the dhcp reservation table manually, but it still does not show up. There are, however, several unspecified "network devices" on the list. How can I do this?
I wish to have a home network using the E1200 without an internet connection. I have a netbook (Lenovo S100) and a Samsung Galaxy Note II. I want to be able to have both connected to the router so I can interface the two devices using a program such as Teamviewer.
I just got a Macbook Air and couldn't get connected at home so I went and bought a new router (our other router was old!!). We purchased the E1200. Our Dell desktop seems to have a fine connection, but my MacBook Air and my husbands laptop are really slow when on the internet.
I'm having getting my E1200 to work is this; I'm connected wirelessly with an N-adapter to the router, my roomate is connected directly with an Ethernet cable and to the modem. Whenever he logs ons or logs off from internet I GET DISCONNECTED! Its very frustrating. At first I kept wondering why I would get frequent Disconnects, until I matched exactly the times he would log on or log off. I've never seen this type of problem before in my previous router?
In one area of the home is a century link pk 5000 modem that connect to the internet. In another area of the home is the computer that has an e1200. Is it possible to connect the computer to the internet, wirelessly, from the e1200 to the pk5000? How is this accomplished?
I know the settings for the pk5000 and would "input" them into the e1200 if I friggen knew where to do this.
My ISP requires MAC authentication on the router for internet access. They provide the router, and register that router to their access list.I'm not very happy with the router they provided, so I'm planning to buy a E1200 and clone my current router's MAC address. But when I checked the interface of this router, the mac cloning page has a button saying "Clone my PC's MAC". And in the FAQ page of E1200 it says that the router can automatically capture the MAC address of the PC. Which is not what I want to do.I want to manually input my older router's MAC address into this router to clone it.
I received a Linksys E1200 Wi-Fi Router for Christmas. I inserted the Setup CD into my iMac, running OS X version 10. 8. 2. I clicked on setup and a window opened with the message "Unsupported operating system".At this point I don't plan to use the Wi-Fi for the computer, but I do need to connect the ethernet cable to the router, then to my computer.I will be using Wi-Fi for my iPad. In that case, I have no instructions on how to set up the router for my iPad. Will this Wi-Fi router work or will I need a router compatible with OS X version 10.8.2?
I had recently purchased the E1200 router. For some reason, my internet keeps going in and out of service. I will be playing an online game but get disconnected from the server every 6-8 seconds. I tested if it could be my internet provider, but when I connect via Ethernet cord to my modem, it works great. If I run the Ethernet through my router or try wireless connections, it tends to go in and out. It only seems to do this some of the times.
I just purchased a new E1200 router with firmware version 2.0.01 and downloaded the latest version 2.0.03 and tried to install it through the router. When I choose the downloaded file and try to start upgrade I immediately get an error "The Image File is Incorrect". I redownloaded it and tried again with the same error. how to get past this and upgrade the firmware?
My macbook is able to detect my router, but the router cannot connect to the internet. I was wondering if the E1200 requires a modem, where as FIOS only offers ONT?
Not far ago I purchased Cisco e1200. All my attempts to set up the iptv thru wifi failed. Nevertherless iptv works fine when I insert LAN cable directly into my laptop. On WRT320N does not work. Firmware is Ver.1.0.03.
i recently bought an E1200 to replace my old Linksys router that died. I set it up smoothly and i can connect any device to it easily. But i have one major problem with it, it always disconnects every time at 1am or something. I usually leave my PC to sleep mode and when i wake up i just take it off sleep mode, now i had this router for about 4 days and every morning when i turn the PC on the internet connection is gone/disconneted. I cant repair it from the Network Sharing Center, i need to restart it THEN repair it and it always says that the Local Area Connection is disabled even though i didnt even touch any of it. I tried putting it in sleep mode in the morning and then turning it on again but the internet is still connected, it just happens when i go to sleep at night, really weird.
I have E1200 router and I have a problem with setup my ISP Connection. The ISP requires PPPOE connection but with static IP Address but in E1200 I didn't find any option for that. The possible ways are PPPOE or Static IP Address.
I have E1200 wireless router and it was working nicely for the whole last year with 2 mac laptops hooked up on it. About 2 months ago there were 1 mac,1 win laptop and a network printer. And again, it was working just fine at the beginning. I'm not sure when exactly it happened first, but now after working couple of hours internet gets off and router stops responding. If I try to reconnect to it from my laptop I just see an error message saying something about "Connection timeout". Also I don't know does it have something to do with the network printer, btw it's connected to the router via ethernet cable not wireless. Anyway, the only solution I've found so far is power off the router for a couple of secs and power it on again, which is obviously not a solution at all, it's annoying and not practical. The time it works fine before it dies is also not fixed, it might be even 10 hrs of working and sometimes only 1-2 hrs. My other suspicion is firmware. I upgraded it almost at the same time when new laptop and printer showed up. Maybe I have to downgrade it, but I couldn't find older version of it. It was HW v. 1, SW v.1.0.00, and now it's HW v.1, SW v.1.0.03.
