Cisco :: WS-500 One Management Tool For Network
Jul 14, 2011I have recently installed several of the new WS-500 series switches into my networks and much to my surprise they are not supported by the CNA tool as the older 500 series were. I tried using the CCA tool, but my routers and legacy switches are not supported under it. One of the reasons I bought the Cisco switches in the first place is because I wanted to use one tool to manage all components in my network. I feel rather irked about what seems to be a purposeful hampering of functionality of the SMB line of equipment. Is there a management application that will allow me to manage all of my Cisco devices from the same console?

Aug 23, 2012We are deploying a new wireless infrastructure with a WCS (7.0.172.0) / WLC (7.0.116.0) and AP AIR-LAP1142N-E-K9This AP are in lightweight mode.I know that we cannot do a SNMP polling directly on the AP.For the moment we monitor the AP's only by the traps sent by the WLC.
Is it possible to poll continuously the AP's status (up/down) maybe through the WLC or the WCS ? if yes how we can do that ?The goal is to monitor all the network with only one tool (HPOV) and the AP's integrated on our supervision map.

Jan 25, 2012we have the following problems with lms 3.2 on windows. Archive management and inventory collection fail.
The following messages we get:
DCMA0055: URN_NOT_FOUND : urn "JRM" : Not found !!
DCMA0077: Could not create job. Check dcmaclient.log for more details.
Someone recommend to remove the following files ctmregistry and ctmregistry.backup.Will this fix the issue?

Mar 29, 2011i need to move from a pix 515e. V 6.3 to a asa v 8. From what ive read i can use the pix to asa tool to get the converted configuration file to the new asa. So far so good, however, the pix has conduits which i read must be converted via the occ tool. So i ran the pix to asa conversion then ran the occ tool on that output but i keep getting errors. It is not liking the nameif outside, inside, and dmz lines. If i manually edited them out before i run the occ tool it runs but warns there are no interfaces.

Feb 20, 2013When I connect to my router via the default gateway IP address I no longer have access to the configuration options. It just brings up the recovery tool. It will assign IP addresses when I connect via cat 5, but it will not broadcast an SSID. I have tried updating the firmware, but even after running the update it just takes me to the recovery tool. The only options I have are update firmware or reboot. I thought about using DD-WRT, but this particular router is on the black list for that particular firmware option.

Nov 23, 2011We have several unknown devices within our inventory. When running an inventory report the message I get back is "No Credentials available".
For inventory checks is it just SNMP that is used or is it the standard credentials that are needed ?
I am planning to edit the credentials for the single device manually to see if this makes a difference. Our integration is with ACS and we have a machine account with admin priveleges.
Device Verification for the device states "Device Not reachable" for SNMP and SSH. There are no drops on any of our firewalls but snmpwalk does work from the command prompt from the LMS server.
Are there any further checks I can make for these 2 messages:
* "No Credentials available". * "Device Not reachable"

May 21, 2011I have been having problems getting devices into DFM once I enable fault management.I am now having issues with the basic LMS / RME I am getting the following issue:"No Device exists in LMS or Inventory is not collected for devices."I experienced this before and resolved by reapplying the licence.The issue has gone from - all devices discovered and added to LMS and DCR ok turned on Layer 2 Topology and Faults and then no devices appearing in DFM.after restarting the Daemon manger I have no devices in LMS. total device approx 1900 - standalone setup.

I am facing issue with reference to Inventory Collection, my 10% devices (including Routers & Switches) Inventory collection is failed and give me error (Device sensed, but collection failed). I increase the SNMP timeout 10 sec, 30 sec, 60 sec and even 100 sec the result be the same.

Oct 5, 2011LMS 4.0.1 installed on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard with SP1. Created Inventory collection job, but couple of hours later, it is failed with all devices Not Attempted.
