Cisco :: WS-500 One Management Tool For Network

I have recently installed several of the new WS-500 series switches into my networks and much to my surprise they are not supported by the CNA tool as the older 500 series were. I tried using the CCA tool, but my routers and legacy switches are not supported under it. One of the reasons I bought the Cisco switches in the first place is because I wanted to use one tool to manage all components in my network. I feel rather irked about what seems to be a purposeful hampering of functionality of the SMB line of equipment. Is there a management application that will allow me to manage all of my Cisco devices from the same console?

I am working as a Network Administrator. Here I have to manage Cisco Switches 2960 and 4500 Series, Active Directory, Database Server, Exchange Server, File Servers, IP Telophony, Fortigate Firewall, 2960 Router, Wifi availability within Company. Although, in case of any disaster we will contact to vendor for solution, but the management told me to deploy any Software/Network Monitor which will facilitate to manage all this, i.e, overall network Health check, Performance Measurement, Fault Tolerance.

We are deploying a new wireless infrastructure with a WCS (7.0.172.0) / WLC (7.0.116.0) and AP AIR-LAP1142N-E-K9This AP are in lightweight mode.I know that we cannot do a SNMP polling directly on the AP.For the moment we monitor the AP's only by the traps sent by the WLC.
Is it possible to poll continuously the AP's status (up/down) maybe through the WLC or the WCS ? if yes how we can do that ?The goal is to monitor all the network with only one tool (HPOV) and the AP's integrated on our supervision map.

Deploying monitoring systems, typically in NOCs and maintaining them and creating modles of customer networks working with SNMP polling systems. Tools include applications like HP NNM, Netcool, Ciscoworks etc. How far would a career take you if specialising in this area? It seems like a diversion from the typical Routing/Switching side of networking. Not nessacarly from a technical perspective, how about networking? Ie; being exposed to migration/project teams who wanting to 'migrate' more hardware and sites to the care of the NOC, after the design teams have implemented them? This seems like a step towards the design side which in the long term I am wishing to get to.

I'm trying to add an extended ACL (120) to an 800 series router (887) using Network Objects to allow the management user IP range full access to IP services and restricted access to email only for standard user IP range. However as soon as I apply the ACL to the outbound of my Vlan no matter what is in the ACL my PC looses internet connectivity. I've tried adding an explict allow for my IP address and still no access so I'm thinking possible a NAT issue, please have a look at my attached config and let me know what you think. Would I be better trying to control data flow with ZBF? I want to restrict standard users to email access only during the work day with web access and IM access after hours along with blocking all P2P programs for standard users at any time. Management group will have unrestricted access to all IP protocols. My original plan was to use time based ACL's!

Any quick breakdown on the differences between some Network Management software titles. I dont know when you would use each one or what the limitations are of each. [code] I have been looking over the release notes for each product trying to draw some conclusion on which titles support or dont support certain products.
When you would use each and if there are any gotchas or limits to watch out for? It looks like Prime is a paid for product but will any of the free solutions (CNA, CCP, CCA) work with all enterprise level products (2950, 2960, 3560, 3750, 4948, 4900 4500 switches and 1800, 1900, 2800, 2900, 3800, 3900 routers) or do you have to use Prime to get a product that will mange these devices?

i need to move from a pix 515e. V 6.3 to a asa v 8. From what ive read i can use the pix to asa tool to get the converted configuration file to the new asa. So far so good, however, the pix has conduits which i read must be converted via the occ tool. So i ran the pix to asa conversion then ran the occ tool on that output but i keep getting errors. It is not liking the nameif outside, inside, and dmz lines. If i manually edited them out before i run the occ tool it runs but warns there are no interfaces.

To test the VPN performance of ASA 5540, I will have to build at least 1000 VPN tunnels. It is time-consuming works if I put all of commands line by line manually. It looked like a bundle of VPN tunnels won't be created by ASDM. I am wonder if there is any generator tool for this. I just tried to google it. I found a software is named as VPN Configure Generator, but it is not free.

When I connect to my router via the default gateway IP address I no longer have access to the configuration options. It just brings up the recovery tool. It will assign IP addresses when I connect via cat 5, but it will not broadcast an SSID. I have tried updating the firmware, but even after running the update it just takes me to the recovery tool. The only options I have are update firmware or reboot. I thought about using DD-WRT, but this particular router is on the black list for that particular firmware option.

Is there a tool which can analyse the incoming and outgoing traffic on a computer hooked to the internet via a router.I would want to know the name of the program or application generating the outgoing traffic or receiving the incoming traffic and if possible the source of incoming traffic.I can read my Dir-628 router's log but all you really see are IP addresses.

I would like to push route for admin services (Vlan20) to bypass the firewall via an other connection (CSI to CSE). So my first choice was to create a route-map in (CSI) but I don't know how to do it. On my Firewall ASA, I don't have any Context License, that is why I would like to do it like this.

I want to install lightweight IOS into Aironet 1131AG by using Upgrade Tool. However, some error messages appear saying:
1. ACL / Firewall might be blocking the TFTP.
2. Disable the ACL/Firewall setting for TFTP.
I don't set up any ACL because I am trying to install to the Aironet which was just initialized by using mode button. Configuration is just like followings.
Is there any possibility that the configuration block the TFTP communication ? now, ping is reachable and directly, I am connecting AP and PC with upgrade tool . and windows firewall is disable on the PC. But the upgrade tool is error. Why the TFTP communication is failed.

i was able to network my window xp pcs with easy. I control my cyber cafe with handy cafe and it wporks on my xp pc using a switch.(Dlink) My challenge is now how to network window 7 OS pcs that are directly connected to a wireless router for internet. All the systems browse wirelessly via the router but i can't share filesMy major problem is our to use handy cafe to control the systems(15pcs)

My backup userid, password, privi 15 on all our company routers Say around 300 routers, it is difficult to log in each router and create a backup account, i heard from one of my friend that i can create a backup account and can upload thru the kiwicat tool and it will automatically creates my backup account on all the routers. Procedure to create this.

I downloaded and ran the norton removal tool on my pc which has a wired connection to my router but when I restarted I had lost internet connection. I ran the diagnostic tool and it said 'Invalid IP address' and repeated 'Unexpected error from iphlpapi: The pipe is being closed' several times
I tried rebooting the router and the following -
Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ip reset reset.log But nothing has worked. The 3 laptops and Xbox connected to the router are still working fine.....

I am trying to find a tool that will monitor the web traffic for one specific user. If it is capable of bundling it into a report that would also be a benefit. I have searched, but not come up with much aside from broad network monitoring tools. All that is really needed is to capture all the activity from http traffic for this one specific user/PC (since she uses the same PC all the time). We have a Sonicwall NSA 2400 as our internet filter, but I was not able to locate anything on there for specific user reporting.

We just replaced our Cisco 1240 AP in one of our shops with a Cisco 1141 AP. This is not controller based.
We use several wireless (infrastructure mode) auto diagnostic tools which connect to the AP. We also have many laptops which run the diagnostic software.
We had no problems with our 1240AP. With our 1141, we cannot connect to the wireless tools if both the laptop and the tools are connected to the 1141. If I connect one to the 1240 and one to the 1141, they can see each other and work fine. IF they are both connected to the 1141, they show up as connected in the AP, they can ping each other, but the software does not communicate.
