View 1 RepliesWe find that some of the utilized iPads (iPad2, iOS 5) have a significant delay to connect to the WiFi after waking up.. though some of them show the WiFi-icon instantly after wake-up.. That is causing the crestron App on it to "malfunction", which is to say that it can't connect to it's server and goes back to home screen to allow re-connect..
WLC and LAPs using the latest software (7.2.103.0).. encryption is WPA2/PSK..
I changed the WLAN to use 802.11g only.. changed Beacon-Time.. changed encyption.. changed WMM settings..Alas, the iPads that expose this behaviour do not show any difference with the changes..
Is there any way to configure a wired guest network with a combination of 5508 and 2504 wireless controllers? I am aware that the 2504 does not have wired guest functionality, however is it possible to set up a wired guest on the 5508 and using mobility anchors, transmit the l2 information through eoip to communicate with the remote vlan?Home built NAC solution, using 802.1x authentication on switchports for public areas. If user is an employee, communicates with the supplicant on their machine, and places them on an internal vlan.If user is a guest, user fails 802.1x check and is placed on a "guest" vlan with an ACL and external DNS.If placed on the guest vlan, the user has to accept a terms of use form.This is working currently with our 5508s without any issue, however we have some remote offices we'd like to roll this out to that are using 2504 controllers. I'm hoping there's a way that I can use the 5508 as an anchor or vice versa to make this work.

(each hub has 2 interfaces to the spokes. the spokes only have one interface to the hubs, so I splitted them and so I now have 4 dmvpn tunnels). one of the interfaces on a hub malfuntioned and because of that the customers had problems with logging in and sending packets. I made this kind of structure because of when one of the tunnels failed the spoke could use the 3 others... BUT, what happened here was that the spoke still tried to use all 4 of the tunnels and because of that I had 25% package loss!So this didn't work. Now I read about IP SLA, but I was wondering of this could work? (I cannot test it on spare routers, and I don't want to implement it and risking a total network failure...) and how to configure it. Should I make 4 different sla processes which I should all 4 track? And when I make the ip routes, how should I make or configure it so that 1 of the tunnels/interfaces fails that the spoke would addapt the routes?

The configuration is when the laptop don´t authenticates with radius, the dhcp server assigned vlan guest and ip guest. The first time was ok. After, We connect a laptop with users authenticates work ok, the radius asigned vlan of users and dhcp server assigned ip users. The problem was when we connect for two time a guest laptop, radius didn´t validate and laptop didn´t negociate ip with dhcp server. In this time, the administrator of dhcp server, tell us that they didn´t see nothing traffic of my mac. and anymore run fine. If Whe change the port of switch , the laptup start working again.
Radius=NPS
Server dhcp: is typical.
Our scenario is with a ip cisco phone. the ip phone don´t have the authentication. The administrator of radius tell us that the configuratation is fine and the configuration of dhcp is fine. When we connect only laptop, everything run ok.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a 2 cisco switches that are at different sites one is a Cisco CAT4500 and other 3560. The connection between the switches is a layer 2 fibre link. CAT4500 and 3560 both have VLAN interface ip addresses in order for me to connect to the switches.
I have PC A connected to CAT4500 and PC B connecting to 3560. All these devices are the same VLAN and in the same subnet. I do have trunk links all the way though allowing this vlan as we run vlans. From PC A, I can ping CAT4500, 3560 and even PC B. This tells me everything is fine regarding Layer 2 & 3.
As soon as I move PC B and connect it to the other switch CAT4500 or move the other PC vice versa (this happens in both directions). Both switches learn that the mac address has moved locations and updates its mac address table accordingly. So when I do a show mac address table and show arp, everything has learned and moved fine. However when I try to ping any other device from PC B I cannot. So the 3560 switch PC B was originally connected to, I can no longer ping, the switch cannot see the pc also. It is as if PC B has not learned anything from the switch and cannot respond or reply to any icmp. I have tried this with different end devices, same thing. I am now thinking it has something to do with the switch.

View 3 Replies View RelatedCurrent network configuration is as follows:Internet -> Router -> 24port Switch (main switch)I have seven network segments, connected to the main switch via 8port switches.Just to clarify, all the segments are in the same subnet.One of the segment, has a wireless N router connected to the 8p switch. The wireless router, actually functions as a wireless switch rather than performing any routing.Occasionally, the segment with the wireless looses network connectivity. When it looses connectivity, the wireless stops broadcasting and the computers connected to the 8p switch (not the wireless) cannot browse the network shares nor ping the computer in that same segment.All we could conclude from this, was that the wireless router somehow crashed and started jamming the switch, preventing anybody from connecting to the switch.
View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently I was setting up my new Medion computer and it very quickly came up with four local networks which were mine and three of my neighbours.I fed in my Router password etc and it immediately was wirelessly on line.Very impressed but I have another computer and two DVD recorders which also access the internet but via wired connections to the router.It occured to me that it would be safer if I only used wired connections to the router and did that with the Medion which is only three feet from the Router. Thereby stopping my router broadcasting to the neighbourhood. Is it possible to switch off the Router wireless broadcasting and if so would it really be a safety measure? and be a benefit. The Router is a D-Link DKT-810.I can't see anything in the book about switching off the wireless, I suppose it just assumes you would want it.I don't have any requirement to have a wireless connection anywhere in the house as all my gear is static.
