Using Bandwidth Of Multiple Users On A Proxy Network?

Jan 22, 2011

My college hostel has a broadband connection in each room, with individual servers, all of which are connected to a central server. Each hostel has a unique ip range(eg 10.3.14.1-10.3.14.255, and others like this, and students are allotted random ips). Each hostel has a particular proxy address that allows us to access the internand by low i mean, quite lowet, and each user has a fixed bandwidth(which is low). My question is, is there a way for one user of a particular hostel to use the bandwidth of multiple users of the same hostel(such that they are in the same ip range, and have the same proxy server for accessing the internet).i.e Is there a way for me to increase my bandwidth by using the bandwidths of other non allocated ips within the range of my hostel, such that with a single broadband connection, i can utilize the the unallocated bandwidth.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Managing Bandwidth / Users On Home Network With E2000

Aug 13, 2012

I've got the E2000 at home for our private network.

We are three guys sharing a flat. We have personal laptops, work laptops, mobile phones, games consoles, tablets etc that connect to the internet.

Problem is that when someone downloads stuff, the speed is slow for the rest of us. So i was hoping i could set up something like three "channels" so each of us could have the same download speed, ie 1 mbs each regardless if others are using the network at the same time. And then maybe a guest network for all the mobiles and tablets etc. MAC filtering for access for our personal laptops should work.

We have a 20mbit cable network line.

Can i do all of this on the E2000 and how?

Cisco Wireless :: How To Limit Users Bandwidth Using Nexus 7000 And WLC 5500

Jul 19, 2012

I used the following commands to limit users on my wireless network (WLC 5500) and a Nexus 7000.  The previous cisco doc only covers the 6500 and some commands have changed.  Tested and working except the PIR gives an error, post up if you know why, otherwise enjoy!

Note Wireless Network assumed to be 172.21.0.0/16.Note This will limit each wireless user to 1 MbpsNote The PIR (Peak Infomation rate, also know as burst) is ignored in following commands, unknown at this time why.Create ACLs:

ip access-list acl-wireless-downstream  10 permit ip any 172.21.0.0/16 ip access-list acl-wireless-upstream  10 permit ip 172.21.0.0/16 any class-map type qos match-all class-wireless-upstream  match access-group name acl-wireless-upstreamclass-map type qos match-all class-wireless-downstream  match access-group name acl-wireless-downstreampolicy-map type qos police-wireless-upstream  class class-wireless-upstream   police cir 1 mbps bc 200 ms pir 1536 kbps be 200 ms conform transmit exceed drop violate droppolicy-map type qos police-wireless-downstream  class class-wireless-downstream    police cir 1 mbps bc 200 ms pir 1536 kbps be 200 ms conform transmit exceed drop violate drop

1.Apply police-wireless-upstream on the incoming port from the controller.

I live in a house with 5 other students. To be fair, it is in the middle of nowhere so the internet is probably very slow anyway, but here is my problem: Skype is so slow I can only just make a voice call, webcam chat is off the cards. YouTube and other videos are so slow to load I cannot watch them. My Xbox 360 constantly disconnects from the wireless, so I cannot play online.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT160n V3 Has Slow Connection When Multiple Users Are Connected

Oct 9, 2012

As of last night my router has been producing slow connectivity when multiple users are connected to it, but it's perfectly fine when only one user is connected. I am on a laptop myself, but we also have a second laptop and a desktop where the modem and router are set up. I have upgraded the firmware so that is up to date. We have Comcast Fiber Optics so my internet speed is normally quite fast even when all of my computers are connected.

I am using DHCP Configuration. My Channel Width is set to 20 MHz and I am using Channel 11. The Security Mode is set to WPA Personal. I had it on WPA2 Personal but I read that changing to WPA Personal might work and so far it doesn't seem to have done anything. I set the Beacon Interval to 50, Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, and RTS Threshold to 2304. Everything else is set to the default factory configuration.

Just today I received a notice that said "Windows has detected an IP Address Conflict", but ever since I reinstalled the Firmware it hasn't come back. I've rebooted both my laptop and the desktop to confirm it hasn't come back as well. I've tried everything that I could think of including reconfiguring my router and restarting my modem as well.

Security / Firewalls :: Using Non-proxy Software Through Proxy?

Mar 31, 2012

I access the internet from my companys LAN, which has a restrictive firewall, so I cannot request the admin to open any ports manually for me. Hence I use a software called your-freedom. This proxy software supports both http as well as socks 4 and 5 proxy (by entering the proxy IP 127.0.0.1 (localhost) and Port 8080 for http proxy OR 1080 for Socks Proxy), and I have successfully been using web browsers and some other softwares that support proxy/ allow proxy info to be entered to login/ connect to the internet. Your-Freedom also supports port forwarding. However, the softwares I intend to use do not have any options to enter proxy methods or proxy ports (as far as I have noticed). I have tried to proxify these 2 softwares using softwares such as SocksCap and Free Cap, but either they dont work, or my settings in proxifying are not correct. I believe I will have to do port forwarding or proxify the softwares, but have been unable to do so in the correct manner.

Following is the info on the 2 softwares:

1.NOW Trading terminal:[FONT=Times New Roman]Normally when I start the NOW or Zerodha software, the software starts and I get a login screen, but under firewall conditions, I get the initial Splash screen but then the software stops with the error: [b][u]NOW Initialisation failed for Interactive Engine << os error>>.

2.PowerIndia Bulls:The software is written in Java and starts with a batch file (PowerIndiabulls.bat) located in C:UsersDEFAULT_USERNAMEAppD..... I converted this batch file to .exe (with battoexe software) and then ran it through a proxifying software. The .exe start properly without proxifying software but not under proxifying environment. Basically the software needs to connect to the internet using Port 443. I am also expected to keep ports 443, 41599 and 59598 open. software's requirement is available at Indiabulls Securities: Indiabulls Securities is a leading capital market company offering securities broking and advisory services, depository services, equity research services to its clients in India. (item no. 5).To confirm, while the software is unable to connect through port 443, you will get an error message: "Connection to Login Server could not be established" when you try to login with any random Username and Password. To know that the software is able to connect properly, you will get an error: "This User ID is not enabled to be used with this product".

I Diagnose Connection Problems, and this is what I get:"Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings." On Chrome, I got a long list of things to do (check DNS settings, LAN Network, etc. have tried every and all checked/unchecked box they advise.) This error shows up:Error 105 (net:: ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found. However, I accidentally uninstalled Chrome trying to fix this problem, so Internet Explorer is all I have. It's been about 2-3 weeks with no internet. Have tried connecting to 5+ different networks (Home- AT&T U-verse, University of Texas Network, restaurants, etc)tried restarting my computer, setting my LAN settings back to normal, and it still won't work. Windows Could Not Automatically Detect Network's Proxy Settings

Nov 26, 2011

I am running Windows 7 and I use a ZyXEL ZyAIR G-220 Wireless USB adapter for internet. I had a virus called something like Cloud AV 2012 so I used Malware Bytes to remove it and it worked just fine. However, now the internet does not seem to work (there's that yellow triangle with the exclamation point) and when I try to run diagnostics, the message "Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings" comes up. So far, I've tried rebooting, disabling proxies in all of my browsers, and running scans, And I also cannot system restore, because apparently windows security was turned off and there are no restore points

Windows 7 Could Not Automatically Detect Network Proxy Settings

Oct 20, 2011

I'm on windows 7 btw. When I diagnose the problem it says: Windows could not automatically detect this networks proxy settings I'm connected to the internet via cable on my laptop. Yes I'm using a router. The other computers connected to the router can connect to the internet but mine can't. It also says "unidentified network - no internet access" when I click on the computer icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. until I downloaded from a music site which gave me the virus I think. Now, I'm not certain if the virus is removed or not. I tried system restore point but it won't even let me restore my computer anymore for some reason, maybe because of the virus.

Windows Could Not Automatically Detect Network Proxy Settings

Jan 5, 2013

I'm using my old laptop now. On my regular laptop, my internet icon has the yellow triangle and when I trouble shoot it, the message says "Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings".Recently I noticed my computer was heating faster (and hotter) than usual so I ran a search again and it said no threats were found. I have ran the search twice since then and still nothing. I was advised to use ccleaner, malwarebytes, and Super Anti-Spyware. It removed one other threat but the problem was still there. I then started using combofix, but I did not like the look of it so I stopped that scan. It seemed a little sketchy. As of this morning, I'm having the internet problem. My old laptop (the one I'm on now) and my girlfriend's laptop work fine. I connected it with the Ethernet cord and that didn't change anything. I have Windows 7. It's on a 2010 Samsung (I'm not very tech savvy so I'm not sure about all the other details).
