WAG 320N - Internet Disconnects Every Night Same Time?
Jan 16, 2011
I'm running Windows 7 64 bit with a Linksys WAG 320N modem.
The last few days my internet disconnects every night at roughly 12:30. I have checked my wireless drivers in devices and the part to automatically disconnect is unticked.
I can't find anything in the modem to automatically shutdown

my internet works normally during daytime but starts to disconnect and reconnect every few minutes at around 11pm. I've tried restarting my modem but to no avail. My home telephone line is not working when my internet starts disconnecting and it starts working during daytime. My modem is connected to the telephone.

I have recently moved home and my laptop loses connection to my router all the time! This usually happens, roughly every 10-15 minutes. I have contacted my ISP and they have told me there is nothing wrong, but I beg to differ. My xbox 360 is further away from my router and it doesnt lose connection as much

i recently bought an E1200 to replace my old Linksys router that died. I set it up smoothly and i can connect any device to it easily. But i have one major problem with it, it always disconnects every time at 1am or something. I usually leave my PC to sleep mode and when i wake up i just take it off sleep mode, now i had this router for about 4 days and every morning when i turn the PC on the internet connection is gone/disconneted. I cant repair it from the Network Sharing Center, i need to restart it THEN repair it and it always says that the Local Area Connection is disabled even though i didnt even touch any of it. I tried putting it in sleep mode in the morning and then turning it on again but the internet is still connected, it just happens when i go to sleep at night, really weird.

I am sitting three feet from my NetGear WNDAP350 wireless access point, and my XPS disconnects whenever I put any stress on the wireless connection. Since I am getting a sunburn from the WAP I don't understand and am very unimpressed with the wireless capabilities of this notebook. I am wireless N and see 270 - 300 Mbps speed as I would expect at this range. I am not between the WAP and the computer, either, being mostly made of water.

After a very unsuccessful attempt to talk with technical support, I decided to post here. I probably should have posted here first... lesson learned.I have Comcast Cable internet and get approx 24-25 Mb/s download speed when directly connected to the modem. When I connect via the router's ethernet port, my download speed drops to 14Mb/s.When I connect via wifi -- the download speed drops the whole way to 1.5Mb/s?

I have my broadband line feeding into a WAG 320N in an outside room. There are computers in the outside room which are wired to the modem via CAT leads & plugs. Wireless is turned on, but is not currently being used in this room, as the wired connections work fine. From this outside room there is an underground cable (12 metres) to the house, which through a CAT lead is plugged into another WAG 320N, which operates primarily wirelessly, so laptop computers can be used in the house wirelessly. When the outside room modem is turned on AND the house modem is turned on, only one modem OR the other can access the internet, NOT BOTH. Why can't both modems operate wired and wirelessly. What is the problem? Is there a conflict between the two wireless signals? Can/ should I turn off the wireless signal from the outside modem (if so HOW?) . OR is there a way I can have both modems transmitting a wireless signal.

As the title says, I would like to know what are some ways in which a group of computers on a network can be imaged at the same time over night. The reason this must be done is because in the training room at where I work, each different training session configures the computers differently, so it would be nice to have them all start off from the same point, rather than a new instructor having to learn all of what the previous instructors had done to the computers.I know some ways in how to image multiple computers. A little background on the environment:
About 15 computers connected a cross a network
Must be repeatable, and remain available (no dismantling)
Image will be Win7 32 bit, with applications already on it
Must be able to run, and complete over night
The image must be pushed out from one computer to all of the others
The OS of the computer doing the pushing can either be Win7 or XP

Recently, my PC has been losing connection to the internet at 1am.It doesnt tell me its lost connection and when i repair the connection it says that it has been repaired - but nothing will connect to the internet and the Zone Alarm symbol stays static instead of its usual green/red activity bars to let me know data is moving in and out.
My xbox is fine all of the time and the other computers in the house are also fine when i checked them at night.- I also checked the ethernet cable from my pc to my xbox to see if that could be the issue - but the xbox worked fine with it.

Just set up 2 dcs-942 cams, and both were working fine. Now for some reason, the ir on one is not working, or very dim. This is in complete darkness, and its not seeing anything beyond 3ft. I've tried unplugging it, but didn't work. I haven't tried a hard reset yet, but may have to. Btw, no difference even if I force dark mode.

I've had enough of BT's shoddy Home Hub router dying whenever I transfer large files over wifi so I want to go back to a trusty Linksys and I'm looking at the WAG320N.
I've got a family member who is convinced wifi is harmful, so to avoid an argument I've agreed to switch it off at night. My last Linksys let me do this via a custom firmware, but the WAG320N isn't a Linux based model. So, my question is: can I set wifi to switch itself off at night from e.g. 11pm until 8am? Preferably this will be an actual switch-off rather than just preventing access via certain wifi devices.
If it can't do it, any alternative Linksys ADSL2+ modem that can?

I have a DCS-932L camera setup in my living room with motion detection activated in DView. During the day it works great, but after nightfall the camera shows random lines in the [poor] video. These lines are being picked up as motion and as such the camera records all night long taking up massive amounts of disk space. Even when I put the camera motion detection on 'lowest' value, it still picks it up.

I am experiencing random disconnects from the internet -- they have been occurring about 1-3 times per day, although I've just had four in the last 20 minutes.
ISP: Wow! Cable - 15/1Mbps
Modem: Motorola SB6121 (new)
Router: D-Link DIR-655 (new) Firmware 2.00NA
When the internet disconnects:
- Both the LAN & the WAN are affected, but I do not lose any wireless connectivity with the router itself.
- I am able to log into the router wirelessly but cannot access the modem.
- If I plug my laptop directly into the modem, I can connect to the internet.
- When I reboot (using the on/off switch on the surge protector), everything comes back up.
There are a couple of other wireless routers nearby with fairly strong signals, but they appear to be running on different channels.
My phones are DECT 6.0, so there shouldn't be any interference problems with those.
I've been poking around this forum, and have already made some setting changes that seem to be consistently recommended:
- Ensured DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual
- Turned off ALL QoS (DIR only) GameFuel (DGL only and if ON.) options. Advanced/QoS or Gamefuel.
- Turned off Advanced DNS Services
- Turned on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
- Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router.
- Ensured devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
- Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP.
- Using mixed G and N signal mode
- My security setting is WPA-Personal. WPA2-PSK

I have a situation that i would like a more experienced opinion on. We have 2 desktop computers in the house and do have a wireless router. Both of our computers are wired to the router, the wireless is generally only used for our iPad, and we have cable internet from Comcast. Whenever my fiance connects to World of Warcraft our internet disconnects and she needs to re-set the modem and the router. It is worth noting that not just the wireless disconnects but internet access all together is gone. What is likely the cause of this? I tend to lean toward a bad router but it only happens with this one program, so far, so i am also concerned it could be some sort of malicious virus/spyware.

Our telephone point is downstairs in the lounge. We then have a long lead which we have run from the Eircom point in the lounge to upstairs into our son's room. This lead has a splitter on the end which is in our sons room. We have the Eircom modem connected to the splitter and to our sons computer, which is a Dell XPS 630 and which has no built in modem. The cordless telephone is connected to the other port on the splitter. The splitter has two ports one for telephone one for broadband. We also have another PC and two laptops. The second PC and the laptops are wireless.
The problem seems to happen when our son is in the middle of a game (he's a bit World of Warcraft gamer!) and I then use the phone and he loses the connection and then there's troublWe have had the line tested by our telephone/broadband provider and have tried connecting the telephone and the modem directly into the telephone point and we have been told there is no fault on the Eircom line. We only become aware of the problem when he's gaming and the phone is used

I have a D-link DIR 615 and 2 laptops, a Toshiba (Vista) at about 35 ft away and a Dell (XP) about 15 ft away from the router. Both laptops connect to the router. The Dell w/ 4 or 5 bars and the Toshiba usually 2 bars. They stay connected to the router but lose the internet regularly. Anywhere from every day or two or 3 and 4 times a day. Usually shutting off the router for 10 seconds and turning it on again will reconnect to the internet but sometimes it takes up to 4 or more times and resetting the router before it works again. This happened when I was on a different cable network at a different address last year.

My only problem is that it suddenly shuts down whenever my internet disconnects at random. i am totally clueless of what's happening with my machine. it worries me a lot for I think improper pc shut downs may cause damage to the hard drive. I use internet thru DSL service. My pc specs are as follows; AMD 64x2 dual core processor 5200+, 2.71 Ghz,120G seagate sata hd, 1Gig RAM,Nvidia Geforce 6150SE.

I brought this router mainly for audio/video streaming, as well as multiplayer gaming. I thought it would work. However, whenever i try to watch a show online, or even play a flash game, it would disconnect. I've only had this router for one day. I have Time Warner Cable as my cable provider and honestly since I'm living alone, the only two device that'll ever use the router is my laptop and my desktop.
