View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm on talktalk and have been for a few years. They supplied me with a speedtouch 330 modem which has worked brilliantly, but now i am wanting to set up a router so i can connect to xbox live. I have a Belkin ADSl modem with wireless G router which i have tried to set up a number of times without success. I am trying to set the router up so that it has an ethernet connection to the computer and another ethernet connection to the xbox but i can't set the router up with the internet at all. To start with i am trying to set just the pc up. On the router, the power light is on, the ethernet port light is on, as is the wireless and the phone line one, but the internet light isn't on at all.

I was recently given a Router and i thought i would use this as an acess point to extend / boost the range of the dead spots. I Then was looking on the Huawei's setting and switched off NAT and the Firewall and tried again. Both Plugged in and Wireless. I have seen a lot of threads on TalkTalk fourms of people doing this but none have the issue i am having.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just connected a WRT190N v2 Wireless Router to my XPS 400. When my wife tried to connect our other desktop to the wireless network, everything seemed fine. I noticed that, when she wasn't actively browsing or using the network, her computer would lose connectivity, but regain it when a browser was opened. When I tried to use the XPS, I found that it had no connection. I regained connectivity after using the Windows Network Diagnostic tool, but neither computer seems to keep connectivity when left alone, at least for very long.

View 9 Replies View RelatedFor the last 4 years I’ve been using the Linksys Router, model WRT150N V. 1.1 and never had any problems—until now.Yesterday I noticed that my wireless devices (i.e., two computers, tablet and Internet radio) either don’t work at all (the Internet radio) or the pages load extremely slowly—for example, the tablet has become, for all intents and purposes, unusable. Since my ‘main’ computer is connected directly to my cable internet, I know that there is nothing wrong with the Internet connection itself, only with wireless connection.I disconnected the Linksys Router for 2 minutes and reconnected it, but to no avail. I know that I have not made any changes to any software/hardware that might affect the speed.Since I also happen to have access to another wireless Internet connection (a different provider), I connected to that network and all my wireless devices were working perfectly. Therefore, I think the problem must be with the router. I am using Windows XP (on the main computer, where the router and Internet cable are attached).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Netgear CGD24G Wireless Gateway and a Gateway MA8 laptop with after-market Windows 7 (Vista got a virus, went ahead and upgraded.)Now, when I download 100 MB files on my Xbox 360 (Which is wired to the modem) it will be downloaded in a couple minutes, or less. The other computers in my house (There are plenty, and even more that come and go.) get a blazing internet connection, and most of them are wireless. Now this computer, which had an extremely quick connection as well all of a sudden dropped off, while the rest of the computers remain fast.I've gone to Speedtest.net before and after this occurred and my speed before was around 12 mb/s, and one time around 4 AM was even upward of 25 mb/s, all of these tests were performed multiple times on different server locations. I JUST did the speedtest, and it came back with .4 mb/s, and the UL speed was 2.0. I honestly can't remember what I averaged with it prior to the problem, but it was definitely higher as well
View 5 Replies View RelatedI currently have a Linksys E1200 router and I am getting anywhere from .3-.5 of a megabit per second download speed while upload speed ranges from 2-5 Mbps. This is very strange to me as I have never seen a connection this slow or one that had a higher upload speed than download speed.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIf I get a new wireless router that is N and attach it to my desktop computer, will my laptop which has a G wireless card in it be able to work without any modification? I thought I read that N is downward compatible with B and G cards, but then I saw some kind of network adapter that is put in the USB and wondered if I'd have to do that with the laptop. I'm leaning towards a E3200 right now.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI haven't changed anything apart from the SSID names so I can choose which device has access to which band 2.4 or 5ghz.I've come across an issue with the wireless and it drops connection randomly. I have to then disable and enable wireless adaptor on my laptop to connect again.I have read reports of allot of people having this issue however the majority of the issues were over a year ago (2011). Am I to assume this issue was resolved with a firmware upgrade somewhere which I may of missed? My current firmware is 2.1.38.138880. Is this the most up to date?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWRT54G2 router has been working great since I got it a year ago. But recently I'm experiencing really slow wireless speed. My normal speed is around 15 Mbps but now it has dropped to about 0.85 - 1.0 Mbps. At first I thought someone might be using my connection without my knowledge so I changed the password but it was still slow. I then changed my wireless channel (I heard that if too many people are on the same channel it can cause interference) and it worked. However, a little bit later (sometimes a few hours and sometimes a few days) my connection would become slow again. I have also tried upgrading my firmware but no luck.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys WRT54gX2. When I make a wired connection from my modem to my computer (Vista - latest SP) I get a connection to the internet on my computer. When I run a network cord from the modem to the wireless router and then a network cord to the computer, two things happen:I do not get a connection to the internet on my computer. With laptops and iPods that are trying to connect wirelessly, I can see that the wireless signal exists, and the devices can connect to the signal, but no internet connection passes through. There are no firmware updates that I can find for this device, I have powered the router on/off for 30 seconds, and I have used the reset button.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running Windows 7 64bit and I have sucessfully configured my wireless print server (Linksys WPSM54G) to work with my computer and our HP DesignJet 500ps. I have been able to print several sets of drawings without issue, however if the plotter is inactive for an extended period of time (1 hour +/-) the wireless print server loses connection with our router. At the same time the print server loses connection, an associate in our office with a wireless connection to his computer also loses connection to the router. A simple power cycle of the router and print server restores the wireless connection
I chatted with Linksys online tech support and they confirmed that I had the most recent firmware in both the router and print server and had me reconfigure some of the wireless settings on the router. All was good until about an hour ago when I tried to plot and discovered that the print server had lost it's connection to the router and my associate had also lost his wireless connection.
What's the deal here? I feel as though the root cause of this issue is related to the wireless router rather than the print server as my associate was periodically losing connectivity to the wireless router before installing the print server.
I have a E4200v2 and im getting wireless connection issues. I have updated to the lastest firmware and have checked all my wireless settings. I dont use usb storeage. I have 1 laptop using 5G, my iphone using 2G and my wife mac using also 2G.. the problem is that, once we stop using the 2G connection (leave it overnight), it just dies the next day.. it wont connect, i double check the password and it wont connect. But the 5G connection is fine.. Do i have a break E4200v2? or anyway of fixing this?

I'm getting in no special order
a "validating identity" or "authorization failed" or "unable to find a certificate to log you onto the network" or "limited or no connectivity...etc..."
I have removed the check in front of the enable box in the Authorization Tab. The only difference I have noticed is that the icon in the task bar instead of a white on red X I now get a Black on yellow triangle...but still no connection...all this after a couple of days worth of **bleep**
I was having problems with my WRT54G ver 1.1 dropping wireless connections many times a day. I would powercycle and that would fix the problem for anywhere from a couple of minutes to several hours. I upgraded firmware and now I cannot get a connection at all. I have tried the reset button and powercycling but nothing is working.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOften my router drops connection to all my devices. Multiple times a day. It's only for a minute or so, but it's annoying. I'm using a Linksys Wireless-N router (WRT160N) with WEP encryption. I'm running two Windows 7 laptops, LG BluRay player, Apple TV, Xbox 360 (Wired) iPhone 4, and a iPad 2. It doesn't matter if I'm browsing the web, watching Netflix, or playing a game, the connection gets lost. As we speak it happened again. I have no clue on what to do. I've reconfigured it multiple times. Firmware has been updated months ago.

I was initially thinking of buying a USB Ethernet Adapter and connecting a wireless router to it. I would then share my internet connection that comes into my computer the modem, with the network that my computer and the wireless router create. After looking at various modems online that have a USB connection, I am wondering if there is any wireless router can directly connect to my computer via USB and then share the internet connection with other wireless devices like phones and tablets
