Model : TL-WDR4300
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : 3.13.23 Build 120810 Rel.44064n
ISP : Bell Canada
We have a WDR4300 router that works well about 98% of the time. We have a static IP address from our ISP configured through PPPoE in the router and are hosting our own email and web server at local IP 192.168.1.200 behind the router. Port forwarding is enabled and working beautifully.
At some times throughout the day, any computer behind the router on our local network is unable to browse to our own website by our domain name (e.g. www.xyz.com) nor by the static IP it is attached to. We also get e-mail errors with mail client configured to use the domain name or the static IP it is attached to as the outgoing mail server. When this happens, I am still able to browse any other site on the internet without problem... just not our own. Also, I have verified that while this is happening (internal computers can access the internet but not our own website):
1) I can browse to our website just fine from a computer outside of our network (e.g. a proxy or a computer controlled remotely from my home)
2) a computer from within the office that cannot reach our website using the domain name or the static IP it is attached to can still reach the website by browsing to the local IP address of the web server (192.168.1.200)
3) the problem seems to resolve itself sometime within 45 minutes of noticing it is occurring if we do nothing. We can make the problem resolve itself sooner by restarting the router.
I have the impression that this problem MIGHT start occurring when users are downloading files from our website. Of course, if this is the case, we cannot simply restart the router to fix the problem because then we are cutting off their download.
Ths only hapeens at one location. All the other locations are working the difference is this location goes through the firewall. If I bypass the firewall at this location it works.

View 1 Replies View RelatedUp until a few weeks ago I was playing the beta version of the pokemon trading card game online [url]... but then for no apparent reason I could not load the webpage & every time I tried I got the same "The connection has timed out" "The server at Pokmon Trading Card Game Online is taking too long to respond." page. I tried 3 different browsers & I tried unplugging my modem & leaving it off all night to reset it but nothing seems to work. I thought maybe the website was down but then I was able to log in at the library so I thought maybe I was banned & they blocked my IP address so I downloaded a program that hides my IP address & I was able to load the site but not play the game. Just today tho I took my laptop to school & got on wifi & played it with no problem without even using the hide my IP program. So I am absolutely stumped! This is the only web page my computer will not load & I really want to play the game again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis problem just started. I am unable to load certain https sites (for work). If i directly connect to ethernet, it works, so my isp isnt my problem. When i try to connect to the sites, it says "sending request" then times out. I have played around with the settings non stop and nothing has worked. I have a mac running 10.7.5.

There is a website in .com domen and another one international .eu When I try to connect it keeps redirecting me beetwen those two (A loop basically) with Firefox it's like this: Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.I tried cleaning cash, enabling&disabling cookies, i also tried editing hosts file attaching name to ip, using anonymizer doesn't work either. And I repeated all the above with Internet Explorer. I've got Win7 sp1 and my ip isn't static/also I can ping the desirable site and it says it's ok.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm going to list out my problem, to make it faster to understand.1] My domain name is registered with a company, X.2] My webhosting is hosted by another company, Y.3] My web developer, Mr. Z is trying to do his bit and upload my website. Here's what happens:Mr. Z tells me that he's not able to upload my website and is getting the error "Connection timed out" and "Could not connect to server" on his FileZilla or something. He also tells me that there is a problem with my domain registry. Now, Company Y tells me that the domain name's A-records has to be pointed to the correct IP address [which is, of course, the webhosting IP I bought.]Company X tells me to login to my account and add an A-record pointing it to the correct IP address. I did that. But still Mr. Z tells me he's getting the same error and is not able to connect to the domain name. Now, when I ping my website on MS command prompt, I get a "Request timed out" error.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThere is a website I use, and when I was on it today I noticed that it was refreshing very slowly. Suddenly it stopped refreshing and gave me the "cannot connect" error screen. I waited all day and finally I thought to check via proxy. When I use a proxy, it works.
Here is what I have tried so far:
- used proxy (worked)
- pinged the site (worked)
- checked to make sure I'm not banned (I'm not)
- rebooted and started in safe mode with networking. Still could not access the site.

I am timing out when attempting to connect to a particular website for all the computers on my network using my DIR-655. I checked my router's setting but I have no website filtering in place. Is there any other router setting which would cause one particular http address to always time out ? When I try to ping the web address it times out also, so it makes me think it is not the DNS server. Of course it could be my ISP, but why would a single web address time out always whereas my normal web surfing ?

View 14 Replies View Related Suddenly I have not been able to log into random websites and not been able to add online shopping items to cart. I couldn't believe the router would do this but I have confirmed. With Linksys x2000 installed I have tested Linkedin.com on all four of my computers. 2-Windows 7 Machines, 1-Windows8 Machine, and 1-2011 Server. After typing username and password, page would refresh to login screen and will not allow me to login in. I have tested this on all 4 machines. Also tried ordering something online and would not allow me to place items into cart. Again tested on all four machines.
I set Router back to factory defaults and tested and got same results. Turned off firewall and got same results. Ensure Time was set correctly and got same results. Ensured I had latest firmware, 2.0.4 ( or someting like that) and no newer upgrade.I replaced Linksys X2000 with ISP provided Router Westell 8500 and none of the problems persisited. Definately something wrong with the Linksys x2000. I am in Eastern Time Zone and think the problem started with Day LIght Saving time, although I can't be sure. Routeris getting the right time however.
I can't load the main page or any user profiles. Can't do it on IE/Firefox/Chrome or the in-game Steam browser. Weird part is that I can use Steam perfectly to play games, Friends system works, etc. Just the websites related to it don't load. Problem started about 2 weeks ago, went away for 5 days, but then came back (only messing with Steam websites again). I know the problem isn't Steam because all my friends have been able to use it normally this whole time. The problem is not limited to my own PC, every computer on my network has the same problem, even iPads/iPhones. I've checked for malware, came up clean; reset router to factory settings, done everything I've been able to come up with and the problem persists.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHow fun. Earlier this week, my state experienced some severe weather which ended with a tree on our street falling and the power going out all day. It took a bit longer after that for our cable services to be restored - internet included. Ever since then, my computer in particular seems to be screwing things up for everyone else. When my computer is shut off, every other computer (one laptop, two desktops) in the house has been able to connect to the internet and maintain that connection all day. However, as soon as mine connects, the connection dies within minutes - for everyone.
I thought it could be an IP conflict but every machine in the house is set to obtain their IP automatically. Interestingly enough, when the XBOX 360 is bridged through my computer it (the xbox) also maintains a connection, albeit a slower one.I have reset both the router and modem, including hard resets, and I've pinged and pinged and pinged. The same thing seems to happen regardless of whether I am using a wired or wireless connection. Here's what I have:
Computer model is HP DV6838nr.
Modem is Toshiba DAZ8821F.
Router is Linksys wrt54g v5.
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate.
I am using Firefox but have also tried Opera with the same results.

+ Computer has been showing a successful connection in the Network and Sharing Center even when websites fail to load and the connection has gone down for others.
+ When trying to use a wired connection for the first time, the computer could not connected. IT jumped back and forth between "Identifying..." and no connection at all.
+ I reset the router with both wired and wireless connections. With the wireless, it would become functional for a few minutes after being reset and then fail again. With the wired, the router would not broadcast at all. I ended up having to unplug it for a minute and then plug it back in to get it to broadcast again.
+ I tried using my cable with just the modem, but the Data and PC lights failed to light up upon doing this.
+ After all of this, I removed the wired connection and re-enabled my wireless on the laptop. Connection was restored for a few minutes.
+ Despite a successful ping after two minutes, most websites wouldn't load.
+ Switched to a different laptop after turning mine off and was able to maintain a normal internet connection for over an hour. After starting up the computer for the first time:
C:UsersManda>ping yahoo.com
Pinging yahoo.com [67.195.160.76] with 32 bytes of data:
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.[code].....
Interestingly enough, despite the successful pings I was still unable to get most websites to load on my browser.
I have a small notebook Acer, win xp, atheros wi-fi.I've had no problems getting on the internet, until,on my desktop computer, with Belkin Wi-Fi add-on, I set up security on my network. Now my Acer will not load Internet Explorer.Once I gave the network logon and passkey on the wi-fi network on this computer, the Acer tells me I have connectivity and very strong signal, but IE will not load.I connected the wi-fi router direct to the Acer and again connectivity is strong but IE will not load.I direct connected cable internet to the Acer and again connectivity is there but IE will not load.I know if I re-do the security and put no-security on the network it will probably work but I really don't want to do that.
