View 3 RepliesThe netbook was working fine on wireless network; didnt use it for a couple of days - now I cannot conenct wired or wireless; cannot see the wired or wireless modem , only MSN dial up. But the wireless modem light is blinking steadily. Otherwise the netbook is working OK - it even seems to boot up quicker than it used to)(I would reinstall the OS but it didnt come with OS DVD or a DVD drive ; so I didnt create a backup when I bought it. I have since purchased a USB DVD drive; this is one of two identical netbooks I purchased on black Friday - other one works perfectly?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a gateway with windows 7 and was working fine and a couple of weeks ago it will no longer connect to the internet. I have always used the wifi connection. The wifi signal is a orange computer and on my other computer when it is working it is typically green, so I am not sure what this orange color means, if anything.

However, whenever I go in a coffee shop or anywhere else that has a unsecured network for customers, it won't connect, no matter how strong the signal is.
My father gave us an old Gateway computer for the kids to use for homework. We have a Kodak ESP Office 2170 series wireless printer. How can we connect the 2, so they can print their homework out? I've downloaded the software but it won't detect or connect. Is the only way to use the printer , a USB cord?

The idea is for HomeB which has a dynamic IP, to reach HomeA, which has a static IP and connect. But they just wont. I have not clue what's wrong, I followed the instructions, maybe i miss interpreted something. I could share the VPN logs for both., Im getting a lot of errors there.
My computer will only run on ethernet cable, the network can be found but only connects for a second, connects to the internet in and out, it gives the error, default gateway is not available, or problem with the wireless network adapter. The manufacturer is HP

I have a Gateway MX6124 laptop. I used the System Recover disk that came with the machine. After a complete reinstall (twice), the wireless feature is not found. There is an idicator light that goes on and off when using the F2 key.
There is no Windows Mobility Center choice from the start menu. Needless to say, there is no wireless icon to access and trouble shoot. It's like the wireless is turned off even though the blue light is on.
We have 2 access switches (3750s) that are both attached to a pair of Nexus 5548UPs with L3 cards over VPCs. Access switch (AC1) terminates our 4402 WLC. The WLC services 4 WLANs and connects to the access switch with a single trunked port. Access switch 2 (AC2) terminates an 1131AG lightweight AP. The WLAN is 10.1.1.0/24 on VLAN 300. Router 1 (R1) VLAN 300 IP is 10.1.1.2. Router 2 (R2) VLAN 300 IP is 10.1.1.3. R1 is the active router for VLAN 300. The standby IP for VLAN 300 is 10.1.1.1. The VPCs between both access switches and the router pair are functioning correctly and trunks are wide open (no pruning).
Wireless clients get a DHCP address from a server on another VLAN. Those addresses get handed out just fine.
Wireless clients can ping 10.1.1.3 (R2). They cannot ping 10.1.1.1 (standby address) or 10.1.1.2 (R1).
I took captures from the WLC and I see the ARP requests and replies from wireless clients to their gateway (10.1.1.1). I took another capture directly from the wireless clients themselves. From there, we see the ARP requests, but never the replies. If I create a static ARP entry on the client, it can ping the gateway just fine.
This past weekend I went out of town and took my Windows 7 laptop with me -- since I returned home, it has been unable to connect to my wireless network. Other devices in my home connect to the network just fine, and the problem laptop has always been fine until now. My network card is an Atheros AR9285, and I'm attempting to connect to a Medialink router with WPA password protection and AES encryption. My wireless network icon in the task bar has a yellow sign with an exclamation point in it. It says "No Internet access."

View 1 Replies View RelatedIm not trying to do this to extend the wireless range or anything like that, I just want to connect my 2nd wireless router to the network and use it to create a wired network in a different room.I currently have a wireless network operating using a Dlink DSL2740B with absolutely no probs and I get great reception and speeds throughout my entire apartment which I am surprised about due to its size. I have an Xbox 360 in my bedroom which I use for Xbox Live fairly regularly but it does not connect wirelessly (Old white model). At the moment whenever I want to play I am having to connect my laptop to the wireless, plug the Xbox in to the laptop with an ethernet cable and create a network bridge in between the two. I dont really get any problems with lag or connectivity this way Im just finding it to be a pain in the ass connecting it like this all the time.
I also have at home sitting brand new in a box a Netgear DVG1000 wireless 4 port modem router and wanted to know if it is possible to use the wireless feature of this modem to instead of broadcast a wireless network, connect to my current one so I can use the ethernet ports to create a wired network in my bedroom.Personally I would rather just buy a long enough ethernet cable and run it through the apartment but I live with chick who would freak out at a network cable being left running through the place for long periods of time.
I just reinstalled my windows 7 OS and now my gateway laptop won't connect to the internet. In the network and sharing center there is a x between my computer and internet. I have a westell versalink model 327w and all the other devices in my house can connect except my laptop

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've got two RV082's connected. Each has a dynamic IP (changes typically every few weeks). I've configured the tunnels on both ends with a local and remote "Remote/Local Security Gateway Type" of "Dynamic IP + Domain Name(FQDN) Authentication".If I look at the VPN Summary tunnel status, it shows an IP address of "mydomain.dyndns.org 0.0.0.0" under the "Remote Gateway" column heading. The Tunnel Test "Connect" button is N/A.I can resolve both of the mydomain.dyndns.org entries on both sides of each VPN using the Diagnostic DNS lookup tool within each router. If I hardwire a fixed IP address for the Local and Remote Gateway everything works just fine. VPN is good.
I just can't seem to get the "mydomain.dyndns.org" function to work. It appears the router can't resolve the dynamic IP from the domain names on each of the routers.
I replace our aging rv082 routers with wireless rv220w routers. The gateway to gateway vpn works great, however I am no longer able to manage our print servers port 80 management page. I can ping any host with success, and I can manage hosts that have a port 10000 or 8000 web interface - but no port 80 ones... I had no issues when using the old rv082 routers...
View 0 Replies View RelatedI picked up a pair of RV220W's and before I spent loads of time at a remote site, I figured I'd go through some VPN testing at home to make sure I could get it setup properly. What this means is I've plugged the Internet uplink into a switch, then from the switch into both routers & configured them (using unique static IP's for each) from there. For what its worth: While I have some IT experience, I don't have strong networking experience.
I setup several VLAN's on the local RV220W, and the end result is to make it so that an asset at the remote site with an IP in any of the ranges (192.168.121.0/24, 192.168.131.0/24, 192.168.141.0/24 and any future VLANs) can communicate with/access resouces at the local site. Likewise, an asset at the local site with an IP in any of the ranges (.121, .131, .141 + any future VLANs) should be able to reach the remote resources (currently just 192.168.181.0/24, but future VLANs as well).
This evening I tried to focus on the relevant VPN pages of the Administration Guide to get the VPN up. Leaving the defaults I got as far as establishing a link between both sites and it seems that things are working right: From the remote site (.181) I can access the local site (.121, .131, .141); and from the local site I can at least ping resources (a laptop) on the remote site. (Yay!)
However, when I physically connected an asset that had a 192.168.121.X, 192.168.131.X and 192.168.141.X IP addresses to the remote RV220W (which is 192.168.181.0/24), I couldn't see it from the remote or local sites.I assume this is expected. But I'm reaching out to the community to see what other possibilities might be available becuase networking is a weak area for me. I figured it might be something like a Static [or Dynamic] Route but I really am not 100% sure.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have a VPN setup between two Cisco RV082 routers, the VPN status shows as connected however I can't ping the other network. I am unable to ping between routers, let alone ping computers behind those routers.
We have 2 branches, branch 1 is on a static IP and branch 2 is Dynamic. I am able to connect via QuickVPN from Branch 2 to Branch 1 and remote desktop to computers, however have yet to VPN/remote desktop in the opposite direction.
To me it seems like a firewall issue at branch 2, but what's causing this. Also they are currently running 2 differnet firmware version not sure if this would cause a problem.
