My Xbox360 is wanting a WEP key for my network so that I can connect wirelessly via external networking adaptor. I've been told by Apple techs that my Airport isn't compatible with Airport Utility software, so they can't find my WEP key.

I just bought the Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Home, 1TB network hard drive for my home network and I cannot put files on the hard drive. The hard drive is connected to my Apple Extreme Airport router, and I can see the hard drive when I go to network on my Windows 7 computer, but when I try to put something in/open it, it gives me "error code 0x80070035 The network path was not found." Im not sure if it is my router

I would like to funnel this wireless connection to my xbox 360 via a ethernet cord.Ive researched this a bit and found plenty guides but nothing has worked for me. I saw this in a previous post"Bridging two network connections:1. Make sure the secondary connection has DHCP enabled.. Open the Network Connections folder from the Start Menu, Settings.3. I'd prefer not to have to get a wireless adaptor for my xbox, but if that's the only way, i'll settle with that.We have Comporium internet. I can get cable if I hook a cable box up to the coax port in the wall upstairs. I have been looking at coax to ethernet adaptors, hoping I could go from the coax in the wall, to the adaptor, right into the back of the xbox. Is this possible?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had this router for a while now and I have been experiencing these problems for forever. I can't seem to have two Xbox360's stay on OPEN NAT type permanently. I have tried port forwarding both xbox's, just my xbox, just my dad's xbox etc.. I have tried DMZ on one with or without the other on Port Forwarding. I have turned UPNP on I have it so the filtering is set to endpoint independent . I have tried without . I have even tried port triggering today. I have manually set static ip addresses on both the xbox and the router. I even have the most recently upgraded firmware. Now... How do I get TWO Xbox 360's on OPEN NAT ? View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been viewing some videos streamed through the EA6500 from a Qnap 419p II NAS, and several video files are playing back extremely choppy.I can confirm that the video files play fine on the Xbox360 using a USB key and have also previously streamed these videos without any problems using a Belkin Wireless Pre-N router (that I upgraded from) streamed from the same NAS.I've attempted to configure the Media Prioritization feature, but haven't noticed any different results. I have also adjusted other various settings that haven't affected the playback in any way.
My only guess is that some of the files are encoded in a format that the router is struggling with - the video files are not HD videos, and their bitrates are generally quite low - if my old Belkin router can do it, the EA6500 shouldn't have any problems either.
I have recently relocated and am using a verizon jetpack as my internet connection. How can I bridge the Jetpack to the airport extreme?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a rev. 1.0 Cisco E2000 router that is decent but when it comes to things like streaming video it severely lacks (especially when talking about HD quality). I know that the router is not really setup for that and it was more of an impulse buy when my old WRT54G v6 died on me. Anyways, I recently got $150 in gift cards to Apple and was thinking of spending it on the Airport Extreme as my wife has a 13" Macbook Pro and we plan on replacing out aging desktop PC with an iMac 21". Originally the gift cards were meant to go to the purchase of the iMac but car repairs and other things got in the way and so that has been put off indefinitely. However, I would LOVE to get a new router, especially simultaneous dual-band.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just rebuilt my network and I've encountered a problem with my wireless access. Right now I have a Dlink 2540B modem/wired router.To that is connected an 8-port Dlink 2208 Switch and a Linksys WRT110 wireless router. All the desktops connect via ethernet to the switch and everything is working fine. I just added the WRT110 and specified it would be a secondary router on the network but as soon as I got it connected it killed my internet. I assumed this was because of DHCP being enabled, which was true once I logged in and looked. I of course disabled it and now the internet is back up on the wired portion and I can connect to the wireless router as well. But the only problem now is that my wireless devices are not being assigned IP's at all. Specifically, my Mac says "airport has a self assigned ip address and will not be able to connect to the internet"How are IP's assigned to wireless devices that connect to the network via a wireless router with DHCP disabled?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to connect my laptop running windows 7 to an airport express so I can stream music to my hi-fi.I've tried a number of different things, none of which have been successful.I've tried resetting the device before each attempt to connect it and I've also ensured that the driver for my computer's Wi-Fi (Intel (R) Wi-Fi link 5100 AGN) and the firmware for my router (Linksys E2000) are up to date. The apple airport utility program is also up to date. I also saw this webpage:Sharing my Win 7 PC with Apple Airport Extreme and wireless network. - Microsoft Answers And, all these settings were correct already.I also took the device back to the shop where it was tested and found to be working correctly.
Just plugging in my airport express - Opening the airport utility program, my airport express is recognized straight away. It is highlighted in the left-hand pane and I click on continue. I then get a message asking if I want to switch networks and it says that this is required in order to set it up. I click OK to continue. After a window appears saying that it is detecting apple wireless devices, I get error message number 4 saying that an error occurred while trying to access the network. It then asks me to check to make sure my network is valid.Using ‘configure other under the file tab - The airport express is still recognized in the left-hand pane but I click on configure other. A window appears asking for the I.P. address and a password. I enter the default I.P. address (10.0.1.1) and the default password (public) for the airport express. I then get error 6753 (an error occurred while trying to access the apple wireless device. Make sure your network connection is valid and try again)however, my computer still recognizes the airport express in the list of available wireless networks. I therefore click on it and connect to it. I then try to enter the details (under configure other again). I then get through to the configure apple wireless device screen in which I can input the details of my network details, etc. I enter the details and make sure that they match my routers settings (I have even tried this with no security settings on my router). I then click on update. The computer automatically reverts back to my network and it seems like everything is working. The green light even appears on my airport express. However, I then get a message stating: Airport utility was unable to find your wireless Airport device after restarting.Switching off the wireless network and connecting the Airport express to the computer with an Ethernet cable - The device is also recognized here and I can enter all the details. Before updating I turn on my wireless network so it can make a connection. The green light shows on the airport express but i again get the message that: Airport utility was unable to find your wireless Airport device after restarting.
I have a network that has an Netgear ADSL 2 wireless router.Everything on this network has run perfectly for long now. In fact everything is still perfect for all the machines except for 1 macbook laptop.I can connect and transfer files between all machines on the network Machines on network:
2 x Windows desktop PC's (hardwired),
1 x MacbookPro (OSX) (Airport)
1 x Macbook (OSX) (Airport) This is the one in question here.
I can browse the internet with all these machines as well.Well to my astonishment after 3 days of non stop trying, the one laptop can only browse sites that are on servers that are physically/geographically in South Africa. It wont connect to .com, .net or .co.za domains that are hosted elsewhere with on the globe.In SA there are some ISP's that give "local surfing" free after the accounts cap has been reached.This is not the case here cause the other machines connect anywhere using the same isp/router settings from the same network.
a colleague at my university is using an Airport Time Capsule 1TB (Model A1355) to share files with his students wirelessly. The machines are running Leopard 10.5.8 and It works well but it will only allow 20 wireless clients at a time. All the client machines log in with a password. When you remove one of the 20, another can log in.
The tech specs on the Apple website just say that it accepts Wireless guest access and there is no mention of a 20 client limit. I looked right through Airport Utility and couldn't find where the number of wireless clients could be configured.Does anybody know if this is the hard limit for the number of wireless clients for an Airport Time Capsule 1TB (Model A1355)? If it is not a hard limit does anybody know how to change it?
I have a new ASUS N53S laptop and cannot get it to connect to an existing Airport Express network. It can connect to other networks.
1. Other machines can connect to the Airport Express network, including a Toshiba Satellite PC, iPhone, and MacBook.
2. The Passkey is valid and works for the devices identified in (2)
3. When entering the valid passkey, the network rejects it and says the passkey is invalid
4. I have opened the Airport Express utility and changed the passkey to a new one, and all of the devices identified in (2) were able to connect -- but the ASUS laptop still cannot connect, the system still rejects it from the ASUS laptop and says "passkey invalid"
I have an Apple Extreme Router on the second floor of my house where the modem is. I am trying to get wifi signal in the living room in the first floor area on the other side of house. I have an Apple AirPort express halfway from the living room extending the Extreme's wifi signal, however this is not enough.I bought an Amped Wireless SR10000 repeater which i placed in the living room and was picking up the wifi from the express fine, however after one day of use, the devices would not connect unless I set a static ip from within the device. I am guessing there is some sort of DHCP conflict in the setup.I tried turning off the DHCP from the Amped Repeater but it still would not lease out IP's (I thought in doing so, the main 2nd fl extreme router would be the one in control).
View 1 Replies View RelatedCurrently I have the modem into an apple airport extreme, this provides WiFi to the whole house + has a NAS drive connected to it...I have two x box's on the top floor of the house... One is currently wired to one of the airport extremes LAN ports...Now what I am trying to achieve - the second xbox is an old one so needs to be plugged in by cable too... (and I don't want two cables through the house). I have an old Netgear wpn824v2 router. Now so far I plugged the ethernet cable from airport x into one of the lan ports on the Netgear...Then both xboxs are wired into the netgear... The netgear has basically nothing setup on it - no security etc... ip address is on the same network as DHCP router.Netgear has upnp and dhcp disabled...Now stand alone one xbox at a time, the connection is actually faster than I have ever achieved, the full 50mb - but if i wire up my laptop to the netgear and use the internet at the same time the xbox lags like hell, so obviously not tried both xboxs together yet as it will just cause lag!

I have only windows computers at home, although for some reason i recently bought an Apple Airport express. Probably because its a lot faster than the old router Ive got now. But I have a problem when i try to set it up. When I plug in the Express and the cable from the cable modem then start Airport utility, it cant find the Express. Ive tried using my laptop and connecting it straight into the modem, but that doesn't seem to fix anything.

However, my Macbook 4,1 running OSX 10.6.6 keeps losing internet connection regularly and the only way to get it back is to turn the airport off and then on again. It's very odd, appears to still be connected to the router but just can't access the internet!
The Airport version and driver is: AirPort Extreme (0x14E4, 0x88) Firmware Version: Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (5.10.131.36.1)

I'm using a Linksys E4200 as my slave router connected to the Time Capsule via lan to lan. I noticed the TC Internet Connection TCP/IP via DHCP shows a Subnet Mask of 255.255.248.0 and the Surewest IP of 74.222.246.23
Is the 248 setting one I will need on the slave?
The TC IP Address is 10.0.1.1 the DHCP Beginning Address is 10.0.1.3 to allow for the slave to have 10.0.1.2.
The E4200 is set as follows on the routers setup page, Internet Section to Automatic DHCP, Network Section to IP 10.0.1.2 Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 and DHCP is Disabled.
Both routers have a SSID set to the same name.
Are all these settings correct? I've noticed that a device iPhone or iPad etc has a different IP address assigned by the TC depending on which router it is actually connected. I've also noticed difficulty of a device on one router communicating with one on the other.
