View 7 RepliesI have had this router for a while now and I have been experiencing these problems for forever. I can't seem to have two Xbox360's stay on OPEN NAT type permanently. I have tried port forwarding both xbox's, just my xbox, just my dad's xbox etc.. I have tried DMZ on one with or without the other on Port Forwarding. I have turned UPNP on I have it so the filtering is set to endpoint independent . I have tried without . I have even tried port triggering today. I have manually set static ip addresses on both the xbox and the router. I even have the most recently upgraded firmware. Now... How do I get TWO Xbox 360's on OPEN NAT ? How to get two xbox360's on permanent OPEN NAT status.

I recently bought an new router TP-LINK TL-WR842ND. After configuring it I connected it via an cable connection to my PS3. The Internet connection works correct and I'm able to use all network feature on my console.
Then I connected a USB Hard Drive to it USB port and I enabled Media Server feature on the router. I have done steps described here url... but with no results. My PS3 sees the Media Server, but when I open it it shows no files.

I updated my firmware due to connection issues, now it gets stuck when trying to load the console. I can see the grey pipe separators on the screen, but nothing else. I've tried chrome, firefox, and IE, but still nothing. The wireless AP is active, and i can connect wirelessly, and i can ping it. just cant get the console to show.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using a HP laptop and its wireless connection is coming from my schools Wireless service which requires a ID and password each time you connect. I would like to funnel this wireless connection to my xbox 360 via a ethernet cord.Ive researched this a bit and found plenty guides but nothing has worked for me. I saw this in a previous post"Bridging two network connections:1. Make sure the secondary connection has DHCP enabled.. Open the Network Connections folder from the Start Menu, Settings.3. Select the first connection to be used in the bridge and highlight it by left clicking on it.4. Holding the Ctrl key, select the second connection to be used in the bridge by left clicking on it.5. Right click on one of the two highlighted connections and select Bridge Connections."

View 3 Replies View Relatedi'm trying to connect my xbox360 to the internet. I'm upstairs, my modem and router are downstairs. I'd prefer not to have to get a wireless adaptor for my xbox, but if that's the only way, i'll settle with that.We have Comporium internet. I can get cable if I hook a cable box up to the coax port in the wall upstairs. I have been looking at coax to ethernet adaptors, hoping I could go from the coax in the wall, to the adaptor, right into the back of the xbox. Is this possible?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been viewing some videos streamed through the EA6500 from a Qnap 419p II NAS, and several video files are playing back extremely choppy.I can confirm that the video files play fine on the Xbox360 using a USB key and have also previously streamed these videos without any problems using a Belkin Wireless Pre-N router (that I upgraded from) streamed from the same NAS.I've attempted to configure the Media Prioritization feature, but haven't noticed any different results. I have also adjusted other various settings that haven't affected the playback in any way.
My only guess is that some of the files are encoded in a format that the router is struggling with - the video files are not HD videos, and their bitrates are generally quite low - if my old Belkin router can do it, the EA6500 shouldn't have any problems either.
I recently switched routers to the DIR-615 and I'm trying to troubleshoot why one of our laptops keeps losing the IP address and gets a self-assigned IP address. I see the following messages in the log, I am wondering if the reason codes are listed and explained somewhere? I tried searching the manual but could not find any information.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a device(internet radio) that seems to require an address format of 192.168.xxx.xxx. The router does not do this range and I cannot set it to that range ( the first three xxx). If I try the router defaults back to 192.168.x.xxx. Any way to over come this so I can connect the radio (which works fine wired as the ISP can supply a 192.168.xxx.xxx IP address).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have set up DHCP reservations to assigned IP addresses based on MAC address. I have to block my kids access at times, and when I do this they simply change their IP address and they circumvent the blocking.Other than punishing the kids (which hasn't worked - and they need computers and Internet for homework), is there anyway to lock a computer to MAC address to IP address so if they change it they won't get network/internet access?I also tried to set up network filtering and I put in all the PCs and devices I wanted to provide access for, including the router, but when I save changes I can no longer access the internet or the router. I have to do factory reset to get back into router config. Also, I'm on 1.30WW. I know 1.34 exists, which I tried on a previous router which died and was replaced by RMA; but this didn't solve any problems.

I have a tplink mr-3040 modem to use as repeater for my travels in hotels and after 2 monts I was not able to make it to work any time.Whenever I try with WEP, WPA or OPEN - like today - it's always the same problem: I can see repeated network with strong signal, but when I want to connect using laptop or phone connection stop on level of "getting IP address" and never end with final time-out.
Recently upgraded to 1.33NA. I keep getting this message when changing certain settings (such as enabling a guest zone). It's essentially locking me out of changing the system! As far as I know - the DIR-655 DOESN'T have WDS - this was removed a number of firmware revisions ago. I cannot find a setting for this anywhere. There are a few mentions of this on this forum and the web, but nothing concrete as to why it's happening or a valid solution.[url]...
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a home desktop, home laptop, and work laptop that I use. I have Ultra VNC setup on my work laptop that allows me to remote into that machine when I am traveling for work. I have always been able to use the external IP address (not private) to login into the machine with no problem. This week, for some reason, I can no longer do that. When I started doing some discovery, I noticed that when I have all 3 machines booted up at home that the exact same external IP address is assigned to all 3 machines. The internal IP addresses are all different as they should be.Shouldn't each machine have a seperate external IP address assigned as well? Or is this working the way it should? I didn't change any setting on my router or DSL model. But I think the conflict that VNC is having on my work laptop is that it has the exact same IP as the destination computer and it fails. I can remote in if I use the private IP address (192.168.x.x) just fine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am on a University campus and they have provided the following to connect to the internet along with DNS server addresses:
IP Address: 192.168.25.24
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.254.1
When I connect my computer, it gives an error that the IP address and subnet mismatch, but it still connects to the internet just fine. However, if I try to put these settings into the DIR-655 along with my computer's MAC address, it gives me the error "WAN gateway IP address 192.168.25.24 must be within the WAN subnet" and requires I change it.
I've recently noticed an issue with the D600. A few days ago, I could not get any IP address from the router (wireless connection) on one of my laptops. I checked the router and it did something never done before: It restarted automatically (orange lights). Everything seemed to work fine but now when one of my device connects to the network (ps3, iPhone, laptops...) no IP address is given by the router so everything is on limited connectivity which is really annoying. I have to turn it off/on to make it work. It happens most of the time.
Note that I already returned the router a couple a year ago or so (I cant recall what was the issue), so I have to say that the quality of this device is far behind my expectations.
I have an AS-external route being redistributed into OSPF from a static route on one of my routers. I recently changed the static route from a /24 to a /26 and all of a sudden the link ID of the segment in the OSPF database went from the network address to the broadcast address: Code:

Upon connecting the cables, all the lights are OK, however, during the installation, my pc cannot find the router. I read that supposedly the IP addresses of my PC and the router should be the same. But, even if i change the IP address (to 192.168.1.xxx), the computer still can't find it. Pinging it results to a timed-out request.

I installed the 2.06NA on my DIR-655 router and now I'm having problems adding mac addresses to the network filter. The message is "Invalid MAC address". Of course, it doesn't tell me which entry is invalid and I have a number of them. After further checking.. I noticed that one of the MAC addresses is indeed invalid and when I remove it I still get the error message?
